Good Morning everyone! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...or at least the holiday season! We saw a big inflated turkey on a balcony yesterday. It was goofy in a good way.
I'm just enjoying my coffee before we head down to Monterey. The sister who's visiting us will be running a half marathon there tomorrow with her two daughters. I will be doing no such thing. ;-) But we are going to spend the day with them in Monterey today. Then home and getting ready for Thanksgiving. I thought I'd have to work Thursday, but it turns out that my company would rather not pay me double time for two days, so they gave me my choice of which day to take off, and since they have full coverage on Thanksgiving and just me on the Friday after, I chose Thanksgiving. So that's an unexpected good. It'll just be a quiet dinner at home, since William's family seems to be fighting with each other right now. Three of his sisters decided to have their own dinner and the rest of the family isn't invited. Which is fine--I don't think I could handle a big Thanksgiving celebration this year. I'm doing okay, but the slightest thing gets me crying.
So, have a wonderful Saturday everyone!
Good morning! Just waking up and getting going. It's cloudy outside and my leaves are still changing! I'm leaving out monday for a week for thanksgiving,Brandi is leaving then too to go to Boston to her folks, then we will both be back next sunday. I spoke with my mom and dad,I actually understood alot of what he was saying yestersay they told him that his estimated disharge date was decemeber 3rd which is great,I was terrified he would be in there at Christmas! He kind of mumbles when he talks but he is doing alot better than he was 2 weeks ago! Have a great day everyone!
Rest assured. If it hasn't been, it WILL be!Does this mean Carl will be adding Cranberry Sauce Coffee? Or has this already been done?
I was done with my coffee by then and out the door but maybe next time! =)Yawn.....just woke up....let the dogs out....now, I'm here.....and good morning my fellow Cowboy fan....
I always put my turkeys inside a trash bag when I thaw them out. That way if they leak it goes into the trash bag. Of course my trash bag had a hole in it last time so it still all leaked into my fridge.
Nice! I've been on the fence, trying to decide between HINTING to my mom that I want a Kindle Fire or a Nook Pad. I'm leaning toward the Fire, since I already have an active Amazon account.
it's been a really hard day. work was rough.
nobody here @ home seems to be in a good mood @ all!
Carl has a really nice hairdo!

Oh and I just passed 12k posts....can't believe I talk that much!
Hello, I'm so excited that Thanksgiving is next week! I can't wait to get our Christmas tree in a couple of weeks.
I was there first thing in the morning yesterday and talked him into letting me do his hair! he sure does not know how to sit still, but it eventually got done, just took a whole can of mouse.
Wow Carl...Did Binger have too much coffee and cut your hair?
Good morning everyone! I can't believe it's a week to Thanksgiving! It's going to be a bit challenging this year--I hadn't posted this earlier because I don't want to bring down the mood, but my stepfather passed away Tuesday evening. He'd been married to my mom for 30 years and I thought of him as one of my parents. He'd had bypass surgery in January and never really recovered--just kept getting weaker and weaker. It was really hard for him, because he'd kept working up until the surgery (at 79, he was _still_ working construction!) and he was getting more and more frustrated because he couldn't do the things he loved, like carpentry, fishing, gardening.... But this still came like a bolt out of the blue. I was looking through the Heifer International Holiday catalog, and we're going to give a share in stocking a fish pond in an underprivileged area in his honor, since he was such an avid fisherman. I think my mom will like that, and I'll feel like I'm still giving him a Christmas present. Sorry to be such a downer--I hope everyone else is having a wonderful build up to the holidays. Give the people you love a great big hug and enjoy them today, because you just never know.
Hi all,
I had intended to update all of you on the happenings in my part of the world the last week +, but I'm not sure if I will...
I have been really depressed and stressed out lately. Working two retail jobs has really taken a toll on me, and nothing seems to be able to bring me out of it. I can't even listen to Christmas music!! Customers at both jobs have been ruder than I ever remember in my many years of retail work; my boss at Kohl's has been relentless, there are never enough hours at work to do everything, not to mention that our weekends and weekdays are so filled with other things that there never seems to be any time to relax. There is a lot more going on but I feel like I am really bringing this down with only this little bit of info so I guess I will stop. If you have any Christmas spirit left, can you please send some my way? I would really appreciate it. I don't like feeling this way around this time of year.
Thanks guys.
65 degrees 5 days before Thanksgiving...tomorrow 72...wish we could invert tomorrow's numbers and have it be 27....
Going to be a warm Thanksgiving...outside to play! See y'all later.
With only one state between us Coach our weather is similar. Like C-A-H & S-I-T we took advantage of the weather to get half our outside lights up. The rest go up tomorrow. I absolutely hate climbing an aluminum ladder in the cold!We are busy setting up the outdoor Christmas lights but wanted to say, I got my cookbook! It's very nice!
I was done with my coffee by then and out the door but maybe next time! =)
Let's hope those Cowboys do well this week!!!

I did get about 2 hours of sleep finally so I feel better! Just think, we are one week away from turkey day! I am still looking forward to thanksgiving,I am anxious to see how my dad will be doing by that day...I do hope he can be home for christmas! Now if I can just get through these next 2 days I will be doing good! have a good morning everyone!
Still thinking about your dad, Neal. Any updates? Hope all is continuing to be well.
Morning friends! Hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas season after the first visit to the Pines!
Been on the run this week, basketball games are consuming a lot of my time, and will for the next 4 school nights...then it will slow down for me as my rotation in the duty passes to someone else for a short while.
Bout to head out and get the day started, but I just wanted to tell all of you hello! Hope to see everyone tonight, but it might be Saturday due to traveling to games.....until then....Merry Christmas!
Glad to hear from you, Ballcoach. You sound very busy. Try to take a very minutes for yourself. It's so great that you do so much for others. Have a great weekend!
How's everyone doing with their Christmas shopping? I really need to kick it into gear. I haven't done much yet.
Our company Holiday Party is the week before Christmas this year. Our company always sponsor a charity or school, we make a generous donation, as well as volunteer our time. It's really quite wonderful. One year, we went to a low income school and did crafts with the kids, read books to them, and a friend of mine played Santa-it made their day! They all wrote a letter to Santa, and we each sponsored a child to try & make that wish come true. To see their eyes light up like that was truly amazing. I think I have a picture from that day somewhere, if I find it I'll post it
Anyways, need to start getting ready for work. Just wanted to pop in & say hello!
Have a great day!
Snowflake: I'm doing awesome this year! I have almost all of my shopping done already. It sounds truly amazing what your work does for the kids. I would love to see pics if you have any. Bravo to you guys!
YAY!!! 16 lbs way too sweet... HAPPY 4 months little one!!! Hope you get to rest a little on your day off.
Thanks! He's a big boy, but I have more to cuddle!
Just looking at the weather,it looks like NC SC and North GA got slammed with tornadoes,I hope al our neighbours in those areas are okay! Crown and mgramsey are in those areas I think and a few others !
Glad everyone so far has reported they are okay!!!

So sorry to hear of your loss, Anne. I think it is truly so special for what you're doing in his memory. I'm sure you're mother is so touched. You're in my prayers.
Well the bathroom is done and now I'm on to the kitchen. My neighbor came over a few minutes ago and said it felt like someone was watching him the whole time. I only have 86 Santa's out so I don't know why he would feel that way.
Where do you find the room!!! Holy cow!
Congrats sugar!!!
Thanks V!!!
hey guys,
i'm back from chicago and i'm totally in love with the place. those midwestern manners were impeccable, the food was great (i've gained about 28lbs in 5 days!!!) the city and the building were breathtaking and it was so child friendly. i just love america and my ambition is to travel some of the bigger cities, i also want to travel canada too. next on my list is boston, seattle, san francisco, new york (been to manhattan and wasn't overly impressed but would like to give it another try) and alaska. a girl can dream!!!
some really sad news now... i got a phone call yesterday just as i was about to travel home... my cousin was found dead in bed on wednesday. he was only 41 and has left behind 4 beautiful sons. we are a very close family and as you can imagine we are all devasted. in less than 12 month i have lost my precious grandmother, my precious auntie and now my precious cousin. he has had ill health for a while but it's still a massive shock. please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers, we can't take much more of this truly terrible year. besides all this i still plan on making christmas 2011 the best yet, i'm going to make it the perfect ending to a devastating year and hopefully 2012 will be a great year for my family and i.
Now that the sun has set it's time come inside and look over the cookbook! Ours arrived today too!
