wet wet day here too, been raining since last night. It is 12c and does not feel like it is less than a month to Christmas!

:gift:
we need snow to complain about instead!!!

Sunday is almost over with and I can't wait until to get to work tomorrow! I missed alot of stuff happening when I was out of town..still no rain here, but it is very very windy! rain is suppose to arrive at midnight! I guess I am going to watch hallmark all night again! have a good one everybody!

I swear by L-Lysine. At the first tingle, start taking it--I do two at a time. It is really good!

back from church...which I did not skip today (even though I did consider it because my knee is so sore)
Now I have a gingerbread house to finish...I hope...still have a couple of days for that so will try and get as far as I can.

I also feel a cold sore starting...anyone know how to get it to go away quickly...will look terrible in the pictures if I win!

We are having our Thanksgiving dinner in about an hour: maple-brined turkey with a Jack Daniels mustard-wine sauce, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, green bean casserole, homemade refrigerator rolls, cranberry sauce, cranberry jello with apples and a great topping. I can hardly wait!!!

I just watched White Christmas, my particular favorite Christmas movie. That's the one movie that gets me into the Christmas mood, I just love that movie.

There are so many Christmas shows on that I'm having a hard time choosing what to watch. I guess that's a pretty good problem to have.

In other strange news, just as I am getting settled in and enjoying my new job, I have received an interview for a position until the end of March at Algonquin College. The main problem is that I do not remember any specifics about the position. My current government position is fantastic. I like it. But, it is also scheduled to end at about the same time. Both positions could warrant an extension, too. Tough calls here. As a Bachelor of Education graduate, working at a school/college would also look good on my resume. Also, it could help me make connections and possibly teach/profess at the college. So many different scenerios!?

I'm sure whichever job you pick will be the right choice for you. Good luck in your decision!

I am still under the weather but feel a tad bit better. I still have a cough but I know I am on the mend.

Glad you're starting to feel better, Seawaters and hope you continue to feel this way!

Good morning everyone! I feel tons better today, perhaps the wine knocked it right out last night! I met my dad's Dr. this morning, and did not care at all for her! I want him to change Dr's but while he is at the hospital they said that was impossible. Some Dr's are great and you can tell they love thier jobs, but some like her I met this morning, went into the wrong profession! My dad is not doing as good as I imagined if he leaves on dec 3rd he will need round the clock care, and I am just glad he has excellent coverage and will not have to pay for it at all,but I feel sorry for the patients that are not covered, medical costs are outragous!
On a brighter note I am taking my mom's pug to the vet at 1 to get her nails clipped and then we are cooking, and tomorrow we are going to take Dad a hot meal and spend the afternoon with him. I have so much to be thankful for and him being alive is one of them!! I apprecaite all of your continued support and prayer, you guys really are family, even though we have never met I feel a bond with all of you,and I hope everyone has a great day today, and a wonderful thanksgiving!

Continuing to pray for you and your family, Neal. Hope you guys were able to have a nice Thanksgiving.

I start my new job tomorrow, at The Source!! Its hourly wage with commision on top.. hopefully my inner saleswoman comes out hahaha

Good luck with the new job! Hope your first day went well!

Who played the joke at the Pines tonight? my twinkie was filled with turkey gravy, that was just nasty. Anyone else get one like that?

Mine was filled with gingerbread filling!

Happy Thanksgiving! This is the first holiday season for my family without my grandpa being here to celebrate..

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving as well. I am sure it was hard without you're grandpa being there with you, but he was there in spirit. Welcome to the countdown as well!

I just called my mom--she sounds pretty good, considering. My sister took her over to the pound and Mom picked out a poodle, so now Mom's got a new friend. The dog doesn't have an official name yet, apparently! She's blind but gets around well, and is an older dog. Whatever the dog's name turns out to be, I'm thankful for her, because she's done wonders for my mom's mood. She'll be going over to my niece's house later today for Thanksgiving dinner. She sounded really happy to hear that I'm coming out, so I'm glad I'm going for her sake.

That is lovely you guys got your mom a dog. I hope that keeps her spirits lifted. What a wonderful gift for her!

I am sitting here in the late afternoon with a glass of Chardonnay in my fall/Thanksgiving wine glass. Life is good!

You really deserve it!

Good morning and happy You're Welcome Day (as a columnist named Herb Cain used to call it). I hope everyone that celebrated had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was...hard. Really, really hard. And probably the less said about it the better. As much as I love Christmas, I told my husband that if Christmas is going to be like Thanksgiving, I'd rather skip it this year. But I've thought better of that plan. Today I'm off to work, but I _might_ peek into some stores on my break. And I've got my Ipod loaded with the silliest Christmas music in my collection to cheer me up. So everyone have a good Friday!

I am sure it was very hard for you. You're in wonderful spirits though and that's the best way to be. May God be with you in this difficult time.

I am still waiting to hear back from Adoption Services about the kiddo(s). Hopefully we will hear something really soon. I know we won't have them until after January but it still would be nice to hear something but ehhh it will happen, I can not rush it.

Continuing to pray for the good news on your adoption!

I just noticed I am now over 25,000 posts!

Congrats!

One of my grandsons and granddaughter were both taken to the emergency room last night.

My daughter and son-in-law dropped off my oldest grandson to us in the middle of the night so they can take them. They both have flu symptoms. I just woke up and my daughter sent an email telling me that my 2 year old granddaughter's heart rate and respiration was off the chart and they were going to transfer her to Children's Hospital. They finally got it under control and sent them home.

She never told me the diagnosis and they are all asleep right now so I will find out when they wake up. I can't help but worry until I hear from them.

Prayers and thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

I said a prayer for your family. I read further down that they're feeling better. That's great news CAH. Hope they continue to feel even better. Praying for you, SIT, and your entire family.

I last visited on October 23rd, so I hope everyone had a happy Halloween, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, etc.!

Welcome back!

I'm starting a class...free enrollment....called how to spend a Saturday.

Know what we are going to do?

Nothing. We will have about 15 recliners....some big screen televisions, laptops (we gotta be able to get on MMC) and an endless supply of popcorn.

There isn't even a textbook.

Who's in?

I'm so in, Ballcoach! It sounds sooo better than having to sleep half of my every other Saturday away and then working it overnight too. I LOVE this idea.

Good morning, MMC!

I hope this finds everyone well!

Dreary day out - I plan on finishing the projects I didn't finish yesterday. I also need to keep track of Palmer - she has become fascinated with my dish towels (grrrrrrr) and likes to untie all my shoes, especially when I am wearing them

Have a most MERRY day, my friends!!!!!!!!!!

How is Palmer feeling today?

Good morning, Christmas family! Dawg, I couldn't agree more about that Target woman. Somewhere, there are some pretty angry executives, I bet. That is AWFUL!

The worse thing is this is her second year doing Christmas commercials, I remember her last year thinking the same thing.

Hi All!

I got back to Tallahassee yesterday via a free ride from my folks and.....I came home to 8 Christmas cards! To those of you who already sent me one (you know who you are ;-)).....thank you!!

Last night I went to Office Depot to buy mailing address labels.

Today will be a day to catch up, do grocery shopping and try to get back into my regular schedule.

Thanksgiving was good. I actually went for seconds and that's never happened!! Later today I'll get started on my Christmas cards!! :yahoo:

Glad to have you back!

Just wanted to say Congrats to Ballcoach on member of the month! Very well deserved!

Hi all! I'm almost caught up on all of the posts. I got till almost 12:00 pm today. I've got to go lay down and take a nap so I can stay up all night. Since I've slept the last 3 nights, it will be a little ruff for me tonight. I hope you're all having a great night! Talk to you all tomorrow!

Good afternoon, Christmas family

First and foremost - Congratulations, Ballcoach !! A wonderful choice !!

I haven't been around the last few days with Thanksgiving and all but also because I hate to admit I am not feeling terribly Christmassy right now and I don't want to bring anyone down. My spirits have just been very low the last couple of days....I don't know what is wrong....In fact, I have hardly felt like even turning on my tree......very odd for me..

I am getting ready to get on and work as this is my Monday.

Dawg- Continuing to pray for your dad and mom xo and In case I miss it, Happy Birthday !

I hope all are doing well and ((HUGS)) to all including all the furkids xo

I am sorry you are feeling that way, I felt the same way last year. Drive around look at some Christmas lights with the music loud, watch your happiest funniest Christmas movie.

I hope the Christmas spirit fills you soon.

cm3~ (((HUGS)))

I've typed up 15 names so far on address labels and hope to type up 15 more. Also, I'm watching Twilight instead of the Hallmark Channel LOL! :yahoo:

Sorry that I skipped through these post and didn't read everything. I just got home from a long day, church then work. I'm about the watch some Christmas shows with my hubby before we go to sleep and I will be back on tomorrow to catch up on here.

CM3
, so sorry to hear. Keep visiting us to get the Christmas cheer!!! (((hugs)))

Coach, a big CONGRATULATIONS to you!!!

Well, last post before the holiday weekend is over. It sure has been fun, hasn't it? Now, we have three short weeks before Christmas break and then it will be a nice long break! I can't wait.

Before I turn in, thanks again for the MOM award. I appreciate it and everyone of you!
