well, it is safely at the competition, and at this moment being judged, so it is now safe to post the picture.
The write up that is on the card is below the picture. They put me in the elite section this year (first time for that!)
Awards will be handed out tomorrow.

Santa's Secret Summer Shanty
When things get crazy at the north pole, Santa comes here for a refreshing break. Rudolf came along this time, and now Santa is going to have to do some repairs. Rudolf missed with the star landing so hard he made the shanty tip a bit.(his heart was in the right place!)
Everything you see is edible, even the palm tree trunks are made of one solid piece of gingerbread.
The curtains , flowers, towels and vines are made of gumpaste. The "sand" is made of ground up gingerbread.
Peek inside to see some presents that Santa has hidden here for all his elves and Mrs. Claus so they would not find them!

I LOVE IT!!!!

Hey guys and gals. Posting from iPhone in hospitAl bed. Appendix ruptured, so I'm gonna be down a couple of days. But rest assured I will
Be back inaction in no time.

I am so sorry you had to go through this, and I'm glad you are now on the road to feeling 100%!!!

Love this one is well! It's so unique! I only got married 3 1/2 years ago and dresses have changed so much since then. I love the styles out now.

Thank you so much, sugar! I can't stop looking at pictures of it...I just love it so much!

Well some Good News for us Colts fans. The doctors said that Peyton's neck fusion has achieved firm fixation and he can start ramping up his workouts again. Still not cleared to practice but at least it's a step in the right direction.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy when I heard this...I've missed my favorite player this season SO MUCH!!!

I won second place in the competition!!!

HUGE CONGRATS!!!!! I also think it should've been first place, you did such a great job!

It has been one long day. Work is so overwhelming right now. The beginning of the month is always tough, there's a lot of things I have to track and submit to our DOA (airport work), and we had a four hour meeting this morning about new laws & regulations, etc. I can barely keep up. Payroll came late, too. So behind & stressed.

I know the feeling!! I hope things settle down for you soon!!

MerryBells;402500The chorus that I play piano for had their first Christmas concert today said:
What an absolutely touching story! I played in bands and sang in choirs all throughout middle/high school and college and I always loved playing nursing homes. Sometimes it's sad to see, but moments like the one you shared here make it all worth it. I used to cry sometimes afterwards at how much they loved us being there; it makes it all worthwhile.

Good morning from Norway, with this picture from my living room this minute...
Says it all, doesn't it? ♥

I love it, Solice!! I especially like the candles in the front...great photo!

I hope to get out of this funk soon and get some holiday cheer going.

I hope so too, sending some Christmas cheer your way!!!

Hello all!!!

Back from what has been an incredibly busy few days! Work(s) have been really crazy and busy of course, and then I wasn't feeling well for a while, but I think I'm doing okay now. :)

Saturday I went down to George Mason University to help install a new chapter of my music fraternity at their school. It was an AMAZING experience and I was so honored to be selected as a participant. Without giving too much away, I was chosen to do a part of the ritual presentation that I did every single year in my collegiate years...a part I still knew by heart...and it was great to do it again after a 3.5 year absence. To see their faces as I said my part...it was literally breathtaking. At some parts I even cried, knowing what these girls went through over the last few years to get everything together to get approved for a chapter (something I never had to go through since my college already had a chapter established). It was really great. But it was a LONG drive that I had to start at 5am, so by the time I got home at nearly 4pm, I was not in a great mood, lol! Luckily, watching what ended up being a friggin' RIDICULOUS Big Ten championship game helped raise my spirits again. =D

Today I worked a pretty long shift at Hallmark and I bought two boxes of Christmas cards since they were BOGO 50% off. It was the last day for it too, so I'm glad I found out about that! I ended up, with my employee discount, getting two boxes of $9.99 Christmas cards for less than $9.99 total!! I love my job sometimes. =D

I know there are some Packer fans on here, and while I don't NOT like the Packers, I was sad the G-men couldn't pull out a win. It was such an exciting game though!

Now I'm off to watch the Lions/Saints game and eventually off to bed for another quite long work week. Hopefully tomorrow I will get ornaments out on the tree and cards written and sent out! Hope you all have a great week coming up! <3

Sunday afternoon ... both trees are up and decorated, cards and packages are going out tomorrow. And for no good reason I'm feeling tearful and blue, even though I've had MCR on all morning. Our local Dairy Queen is closing for the season today, so I'm sure we'll run out there at some point for a farewell treat. Tomorrow it's back to a very busy week at work, but at least it's another four-day week. I have Friday off. We're taking a day trip with a friend Friday to visit a poster restoration guy out in the western part of the state.

I hope to get out of this funk soon and get some holiday cheer going.

(((Merry))) .....I understand exactly how you feel !! I get tearful and blue also at Christmas even though it is what I wait for all year.....I hope you are feeling happier soon !! xo

Good evening, Christmas family !

Yesterday with my sister was FANTASTIC !! It was the perfect day. We went shopping and of course, some pretty madcap stuff happened with that then we went back to her house and she, my brother-in-law, Wes and myself all went to dinner at a wonderful Mexican place. The food was so good. Wes is 100% back to himself again - Thank God. It was so good to hear him laugh. He told some stories about his surgery and the outcome that, though they were actually serious, were so comical the way he told them. My sister and I were both in "stiches" ourselves just listening to him !

After dinner, back to my sister's house for decorating the tree !! We both had a wonderful time choosing the ornaments and seeing them after they had been put away for a year ! I can never remember what she has from one year to the next so it was double amazing !

After the decorating we settled down on the hide-a-bed where I would sleep and watched Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince togehter. We talked and talked and laughed. It was so wonderful beyond words. Plus she had never heard Susan Boyle so on my recommendation she bought Susan's Christmas album.....She was very impressed.

I hope all are well here. I am so tired tonight I tried to read all the posts but I didn't make it. I sincerely hope and pray all are well.

((HUGS)) everyone and ((HUGS)) also to all the furkids xo

Goodnight - Have Christmassy dreams all xo

Coach- It looks like Kurt Busch's big mouth has got him fired. All I can say is it's about time.

Goodnight Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was RIGHT THERE with you!!!

The Christmas Tree Shoppe was mad-packed with people. It was sheer craziness. Picked up some toys for grand-kid-os.
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I might just sign off and watch a Christmas DVD. I'm thinking IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE.

yesterday was filled with homework & projects w/ my daughter. she had a spanish assignment where she had to make a spanish dish & write a bit about it & a history assignment where she had to make a scrapbook of all the different info the teacher gave her. i feel so bad for her when she has lots of things like that so i try to HELP her. she definitely did most of the work-all weekend long!! she gets overwhelmed fast when she works alone, i just enjoyed the time spent w/ her.
i have missed all ya'll!! you guys have really been busy too it sounds like.
today i plan to make my grocery list for all my baking, maybe even go get it.
gotta bit of cleaning to do & piles of laundry. why is it, when i'm not home everyone seems to forget how to wash, dry, & fold? well i tell ya' today i will give them a crash course in it!! lol
my oldest has taken on a 2nd job. he already works @ a local grocers & the one he just started is a catering service. he is 6ft.5in, 340lbs. so he does alot of the set up for them. he seems to really like it. his car needs some cosmetic repair so he hopes to make the $ for it!

well as soon as I have my coffee I THINK I will be ok. HAHAHA

Jay did a radio debut? Hmmm where can this debut be found?

Question: Is anyone else feeling slow this year? Slow as in late getting things done. It seems this year has flown by and WOWZA am I ever behind. It seems to be getting worse as each year goes by but things are getting done which is good.

Looks like it may rain today- it is a lil warm out there but not so warm as to not require a light jacket or sweater.

Dh has decided that we are going to go see lights, there is a place near us that has a 3 to 4 mile stretch of lights that are top notch. I hope to get pictures but with my little crappy camera I dunno if it will work out right, we will see.

Hope everyone has a great day.:merry:

******** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 23 ********

Good Morning, All.

A new week.
And another week closer to Christmas 2011.

To the count, sans delay:
Days to Christmas Day: 20
Hey! Hey! Hey!
Whadda you say?
We're now UNDER three weeks away!

Much warmer here this morinng under a cloud cover with rain possible tonight and the next couple of days. Currently, it is 55 degrees here in the capital city, headed to the upper 60's by this afternoon.
Now, that's right nice for December!

You all have a Marvelous Monday in the spirit of the Season. OK?

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

We finally got our inside decorations up, and our tree is even nicer than last year's! We bought an 8' tree this time, and with the star on the top, it almost scrapes the ceiling. I worked the rest of the day trying to get the pool closed for the winter. Almost there!

My wife went to Atlanta with her sister yesterday morning, and she should be home early this evening. I'm ready for her to get home!

Yesterday evening was our Christmas party at church, and guess who stopped by: Santa! He handed out the gifts that we all brought for each other. What's funny is, I got the same men's gift that I brought. It was ok with me...I knew what was in the bag!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy
