Christmas Countdown - 2011

Making lunch, folding clothes, listening to MCR2, and having Christmas TV on in the background...soon going to make Broccoli and cheese soup in the crock pot for dinner. It doesn't get much better than this!!! :-D

Good afternoon, everyone!

Another busy morning for me. I am on mail duty again today, so that means that I am up and down from the desk a fair amount. At least it keeps me busy! I awoke this morning to the sight of snow on the ground. Well, at least a nice dusting of snow. The rooftops and ground look beautiful!

Not much is new (again) from my perspective. The best news is that I will be paid tomorrow. Pines and Pay day! Depending on the specials that Carl chooses, I may have to buy a round of something on me! It will be nice to see my bank account escape the dreaded double digits! Oh, the horrors of the first year after college/university!

I spoke with my mom last night. Like me, she is extremely excited for me to return home. It will be good to spend some time with her throughout the Holidays. I am hoping that she will at least have a day off before Christmas... The good news is that she is retiring as of December 28th. Unfortunately, I am leaving on New Years Eve (December 31st), so I will only be able to spend a couple of her post-retirement days with her. Hard to believe in two weeks this time, I will have already been home for two days!

Well, I hope everyone is enjoying their Tuesday. One more day until Pines Day, and then it is downhill toward another weekend. I haven't said it enough yet this year, but we're into the 6th of December, so I really should say it more.... Merry Christmas!!

Good afternoon everyone! It's shaping up to be a busy week for me. Last night Mom and I took a ride to Gamber to visit our hairstylist friend. It's about an hour's trip, and we saw lots of good Christmas lights. Plus, we got to have dinner out, and shopped at the cutest little card and gift store you ever saw. Tonight Mom and I are going to our Church to help put up the Christmas tree and nativity set. Tomorrow I'm going to my Sister's Church to help them make palm trees for their "Christmas in Hawaii" dance (for the church teens). We tried one last week and they're not hard to make, but we need many of them. Thursday we have Advent services back at my Church. Friday is a Christmas Dinner at my Sister's Church. Saturday I'm at my Church again to do some music planning for the choir. And Sunday I have a Church service and three concerts to play. Wow! At least this busy week is earlier in the month, and I can relax a little next week-maybe. At least I won't be bored!

It sounds like you have a VERY busy week and a EXTREMELY big heart. Hope you do have some time to relax.

Quick peek in. I haven't mailed out any cards b/c I want to send out the international ones all together (HOPEFULLY tomorrow) and then the rest of the USA. I have a nice idea for our international MMCers.

I've got a bit of an upset tummy (NO idea why!) so I'll just be taking it easy in the eats department tonight for dinner.

It was very cold all day yesterday and made for a perfect day to bake. I baked all day long!

I had Christmas music playing real loud and singing my lungs out. I am glad there was not a hidden camera, that would have been an embarrassing site for me! My doggies were looking at me funny and I told them to sing and dance along with me! When I said that to them they wagged their tail. =)

Your baked goods sound very yummy! I'm with Made, I want some!! Your dogs sound sweet! =)

I need some prayers for Christmas. I have to work now on the weekend I was supposed to go visit Mom for Christmas. So I'm starting to stress out because I have to tell her. I cant go in one weekend to visit Mom in Windsor and Dad in Kingsville. Its not physically possible. What am I going to do? Well back to work I go. Hope everyone has a Jolly day!!!

Hugs to you guys as well and hope your DH feels better soon. My DH has a cold too - I am trying not to get one either. That is all I need to Christmas. One of our first Christmas's together I was sooo sick with all of that junk - I don't need that this year!

I had a doctor appointment earlier, so I just got into work a little while ago and am very behind. Yikes. Just having a quick bite, and back to the pile of paperwork on my desk! Ugh...

Does anyone have any new Hallmark Christmas movies to recommend? Or ones they recommend to skip? My dvr is full, and I need to delete some before anything else can record...decisions, decisions...

I feel a little behind in Christmas activities this year, too. Kind of makes me sad. Anyone else feeling that way? I haven't even begun my family & friend's Christmas cards, haven't done much baking, movie watching, craft shows, trips to the mountain, etc. (all my usual traditions) and we're @ 19 days away from the big day! I hope life slows down a bit so we can enjoy the season. This year just seems a lot busier than most.

I can't really recommend any...sorry. I love pretty much all of them. Hallmark does a really good job. I did see one last night I guess that wasn't all that great, Fallen Angel, but I didn't see that much of it either, so maybe that is why.

Hope time slows down for you soon. I hope you can enjoy every moment with your DH as well.

We don't watch too much tv, so I think that is probably why he won't buy it, but at Christmas, I am a tv nut. I love Grey's Anatomy and stuff on Bravo, so that would probably be the only thing would only DVR. I don't know if that is why he doesn't want to get one or not. Like I said maybe soon I can get him talked into it. As you said, thank goodness for the internet.
