Christmas Countdown - 2012

The first Friday of the New Year ... and it will probably feel like one of the slowest! I'm going to try to get a lot done tomorrow so I can relax some on Sunday ahead of the first five-day workweek of the year.

Goood morning every one! I am having a good morning, I woke up at six, and I already wrote another chapter! Hopefully I can finish this one essay and get going with the other one today! I can't wait for january to be over (though I get nervous thinking about it )

For those of you who are interested, this is what I am writing about RIGHT NOW:
China is giving lots and lots of aid to Africa, which makes the west nervous for 2 reasons:
1. we fear that China is doing so to make sure of oil reserves, and we won't have any
2. we fear China is not paying attention to human rights which stands in the way of OUR efforts to promote human rights there.
I am actually focusing on infrastructural projects China is building there, and though I agree human rights aren't China's focal point, they don't stand in the way of development of human rights and their help is in fact very effective, since without infrastructure development is impossible. And sanctions for those who jeopardize human rights usually don't work, because they only harm the already impoverished people.
I think this is very important and interesting material!

It's crazy. The local theater we go to sells a plastic "bucket" that you can bring back all year long and refill for $5. It's plenty for the four of us. Of course, a small coke is still $4 each. LOL

That plastic popcorn bucket sounds like a great idea! Just fill 'er up!

One last thing...I have not mentioned this yet because I have tried so many times to stop smoking before and never lasted longer than 4 days...but anywho...I quit on december 5th and I have made it a month!!! I never smoked a day in my life until I hit 30 then It was just at work,but before I knew I was up to a pack a day the last few years and i knew I had to quit before the baby comes,not that i smoked in the house I always without fail went outside to the patio! i hate cig smoke.I thought after a month it would be easier but I guess old habits die hard!!??

That's Great News Dawg!!!!!! I've been trying to get my mom to quit for years but the longest she has gone is a couple of weeks.

Well, wife is at her Mom's for the weekend visiting, tomorrow is Friday, my college team plays in a bowl game, and I'm ordering pizza and hot wings.

Update on Mr., since several of you were kind enough to ask: The doctor couldn't find anything wrong, just told him to call again if the headache didn't go away in a couple of days. His head feels pretty tender where the train doors clipped him, but no double vision or anything like that. He just took it easy today and is going back to work tomorrow.

I hope he is feeling better this morning!!!!!

TGIF everyone....There baaaack! it took me an extra time to get to work because the college kids in this town are back for spring semester I guess it starts on Monday from winter break...they (usually)drive horrible and slow and everyone of thier car tags reads Fulton,Gwinette,Cobb,Hall counties...which is the rich kids from ATL..but they drive horrible. Other than that today is going good so far.Have a good AM everyone!!!

Long day, glad I am home again.
We watched the movie "War Horse" this afternoon before we came home.

Do movie theaters where you live also charge an arm and a leg for popcorn and a drink?
I kid you not, to get 2 med bags of popcorn, 2 med drinks and some candy they charged $22.99!!!!!
So, I thought I would just get a drink....$4.99 for that. I did with out. I can buy 6 liters of pop for less than one cup of pop at the theater.

How was that movie? I do want to see it, I love period type movies.

By us the matinee ticket is $9.00 a regular ticket is $11.50 (kids & seniors are always $8.25) forget about the popcorn and soda! For two people you are looking at about $20.00 for just the soda & popcorn... Forgetabout it!!!!!!

Yea, it's ridiclous to go to the movies anymore. I am not sure if you drive-ins up there, but we still have some around in the USA, but we can see two movies for $6.00 a person. Plus, we can take our own food if we want to. Granted, it's only open May usually until September, but it's still really nice. They do have snack bars, but that food is still way cheaper that at the theater. I love taking my family there.

In my area no drive-ins left so sad they closed the last one here in the 90's now there is a Home Depot there. They also closed the last roller rink too, so sad

That's how much it is here(in Denver). Thankfully some theaters allow you to bring your own snacks.

No way!!! How cool they actually kick you out over here if they catch you with outside food/snack.

Umm, mayor, I am out of milk, and fabric softener, it's an emergency, my socks aren't soft enough... cheesy

Hey, GDawg!!! Best of luck with the quit smoking... My hubby has tried to quit (a term called dipping) it is not the tobacco leaf in whole but all gridded - it isn't pretty he has to spit it is so GROSS! Ok, enough of that, but best of luck I see how hard it can be.

Tgif.....woooohooooo! My daughter & i have this li'l tradition i guess you'd call it, on fridays a local radio station plays "finally friday" by george jones. Yes, i know very old song! When we hear it we turn it up & beebop all the way to her school! Fun, lol.
Forgot to mention last night, a coworker/friend made me an elvis christmas cd, she even printed a jacket cover for it. She gave me & another girl one. I was so excited i played it @ work. Haven't had that one for years. Super excited about that, wasn't that thoughtful?

Yeah, I'm about 50 miles west of Savannah. I'm closer to Statesboro, if you're familiar with the area.
