Good morning from this picture perfect New England winter town,


It feels like winter, it looks like winter, by gosh it is winter! Finally got a nice covering of snow last night, only to be added on top of tomorrow. Too bad it wasn't here for Santa's visit, nothing worse than being woken up in the middle of the night by a sleigh on the roof ripping shingles off. Not much planned for me today, another week of sitting around with my foot up. I am making some sausage and peppers for a pot luck dinner tonight, smells so good cooking in the crockpot.

I may try to get out of the house for a little bit, I am going stir crazy.

Sneaking a peek ... I'm about burnt out on the work I'm doing. I still don't have a full-blown cold, but I do feel crummy ... sore-ish throat, tired, kinda achy and headachy. I hope there's time to relax tonight.

When we have free time in the evening, we always watch DVDs instead of "what's on." We have the "M*A*S*H" box too, but lately we've been watching "Barney Miller," "Get Smart," and " 'Allo, 'Allo."

Today our once little ***** cat, turns 7 years old.

Even when he was little, he looked ready to take on the world!

I remember when we first saw him ... the sunlight on the back porch showed his bright orange striped pattern and I was thrilled that he was an orange ***** cat. His mother was calico and I thought he was black and brown for some reason. He fit into my hands, he was so small.

Look at him now, waking up from his evening nap!

Weighing in at nearly 27 lbs.
As much as he's made our lives a struggle at times, he has taught us a thing or two about patience.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!! It's going to be a cold miserable day here with a mix of sleet and snow arriving this afternoon. I don't mind the cold or the snow but I hate sleet and ice. I don't have much on the agenda for today. My allergies are acting up so I'll probably just lay around most of the day. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone! TGIF this has been a good and fast week,it was a coolish 44F on the drive to work today. The highs are going to be all the way in the mid 70's and cloudy this weekend. NO really cold weather to speak of the next week. I think winter is pretty much over with and it has been the warmest I can ever remember.Maybe next winter will be better! My mom and sister are will be leaving sunday morning so I am trying to savor the next 2 days! Have a good day everyone!

I have today off work! Yippie! Movie day for me. I havent had a day to myself in a long time. How is everyone doing? Anyone getting ready for this Christmas yet? We had a bad storm hit with blowing snow and white-out conditions yesterday. 32 car accident on the 402. CRAZY. It seems like when we get snow everyone but me forgets how to drive. Well, back to my movies. Wanted to pop on in and see if everyone is being good LOL. Ill be reading posts today too!

Good morning, MMC!

It is so cold out, only 5 degrees right now. BRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

My road is still ice - not going anywhere again today! Good thing I stock up on cat food cheesy

I am going to make chipotle cream of potato soup later this afternoon. I have been experimenting with various potato soup recipes as I have quite a few potatoes I need to use up in the coming months . What I don't eat, the outdoor cats gobble up, so nothing goes to waste. If the recipe is a good one, it goes in my Christmas planner for go-to meals during the holidays. I have been working on the planner a lot of late - it is such fun!

Anyhow, work starts in a few minutes - the morning went by too fast!

Having a date night with my girlfriend which I'm excited as she's been so busy as of late with studying as she just started her nursing program. I just saw where Etta James has died...such sad news today.RIP. Just got off the phone with brandi and she said that she has noticed the trees in the front yard are getting tiny blooms on them. Can't say that I am surprised at all either,even last year when we had an early spring it was still march before everything bloomed out and was white. I fully expect everything to start in Feb this year,I like to see the seasons change though it serves as a reminder that in time it will be Autumn again,and of course the holidays will be here again too. I am taking everyone out tonight to eat,this is the first night we have been out since the baby came and we have a sitter. I bet we will only be gone an hour or 2 and I think it will be hard too! In 4 short weeks we will be leaving him at the sitter 5 days a week!! it's kind of a wierd feeling but I guess it gets easier with time. I think we will go eat at this Thai place in town that has the best food. I love asian food and it's been a while since I have eaten it. Don't know what else is planned for the weekend,but I plan on taking it easy!! have a great rest of the work day everyone!

Have to get through the afternoon yet, then WEEKEND! Snow is due tomorrow, so I guess we'll settle in and fix some lunch and dinner at home. We had an inch or so of snow last night. On the way to work I played a CD I made a while back of some pre-1920 Christmas/winter recordings to go along with the snow. It was almost like Christmastime again! Some of the old recordings are so much fun ... like the record of Santa speaking to you through the phonograph. Someday I might put together a radio program featuring them.

Must remember to get some yarn before the snow starts ... my stash is almost used up, and if I'm stuck indoors, I must do some crochet ... I need some white to finish up a blue and white afghan with snowflakes on it.

Not much planned for me today, another week of sitting around with my foot up. I am making some sausage and peppers for a pot luck dinner tonight, smells so good cooking in the crockpot.

Sounds like some compensation for being stuck at home with a hurt foot: being able to smell a delicious dinner cooking!

Just sayin' I'm making a trip to the Pines and I have some fresh, very tasty Sheetz coffee ready to go for Carl.

I had no idea what Sheetz was, I am watching a movie called "The Greatest Movie Ever Sold" and the guy is interviewing the owner of Sheetz at a Sheetz gas station. Now I know! It is equal to the store/gas stations up here called Cumberland Farms.

Hey MMC friends! How are you all on this eve of a weekend? I'm great! I am off this weekend! I ended up getting called into work last night about 1:30 am. We had a labor patient come in. She didn't deliver her baby until 7:30, but I had to be there incase she did.

I am tired today, as I only got about 4 hours of sleep, but I will at least be able to sleep tonight.

DH and I will be busy this weekend. We have a lot of running around to do and we have to start going through the kids clothes. We sell them back to a local store and what we don't sell back, then we donate the rest. We'll then be going to church tomorrow night and spending time with my family.

Well, I am going to read over the countdown and the rest of the boards. Hope you're enjoying your day!

Yea...because of that movie for a while...they changed the name of our city to something about that movie...I don't think anyone ever officially called it that, but they made it public and everything. It was a really big deal.
