Good Morning Merry Chums!

Today our once little ***** cat, turns 7 years old.

EditedChristmasPhotos005-1.gif

Even when he was little, he looked ready to take on the world!

I remember when we first saw him ... the sunlight on the back porch showed his bright orange striped pattern and I was thrilled that he was an orange ***** cat. His mother was calico and I thought he was black and brown for some reason. He fit into my hands, he was so small.

Look at him now, waking up from his evening nap!

Weighing in at nearly 27 lbs.
As much as he's made our lives a struggle at times, he has taught us a thing or two about patience.

Happy Birthday - King O'Malley!
:gift:

hey ya'll, just got caught up again. it's just been a crazy busy week for all it sounds like, work, weather, illness, dr.'s appts. maybe this weekend we can all get some rest.
our weather is so whacked here. wed. & thurs. we had freezing temps & now this weekend it's suppose to be in the 60's & rainy. go figure huh?
i wish i could post more in the day like some of you do but our computers are always doing something & out in the open for everyone. it would make it easier to stay on track w/ ya'll but....oh well.
my son is having problems getting his tuition straight @ school. for some reason the advisor didn't tell him he still had a balance for this semester so now the computers have booted him out & he has to go to all his professors & have them sign saying he's been in class & pay the balance then he'll be added back in the system. says he needs 1 more signature. it seems there's always something w/ him. i love him to pieces but he is a bigtime procrastenator (spelling?) his books is another thing. he's not gotten them yet & we've found out he can rent some of them instead of buy, well he's not checked on that yet either. heck last semester he didn't get his books @ all & made good grades....go figure! we are definitely not going that route again though.
my oldest is doing ok i guess. that sounds awful but he leaves in the a.m. for class, works, & goes to girlfriends after. he comes in after i'm asleep (early bird here!) his gf's mom works the evening shift & i don't think she likes being by herself so he hangs w/ her. must be catching up w/ him because he was home early last night, probably tired.
my baby girl seems to be doing good this semester. i ask all the time but if she's doing ok she won't talk much about school.
oh enough about kids & class. my hubby & i have been married 20 years right? he's almost 17 years my senior. i think we're in a rutt, meaning we are pretty much parents & employees. if it's not work or kids we are talking about, it's football & that's it. we both are always tired, sleepy, or moody from work or kids. we really need to make more time for us. ya' know i don't even know what i would be like. hubby is right about 1 thing, our weight gain has us w/ limited energy. we are gonna try & work on that.
sorry if i tended to run on, just putting down thoughts, ya' know?
hope ya'll have a good friday, about 8:10 me & daughter will be jamming to our friday song on the way to her school. "it's finally friday". woohoooo

Good Morning, Fellow Eve-ers.

Yes, Sir!
We once again stand at the Eve of the Weekend -- the very cusp of those two coveted days that help us get through the other five.

And what helps us get through the year?
This, of course:
Days to the Season: 298
Days to Christmas Day: 340

Well now.
With the 300-day Season mark passed, one can't help but wonder what Milestone #2 is and just how far off we are from it.
Fortunately, we have our handy-dandy Milestone chart integrated into this very thread, at post #1.
A quick check there reveals that our next marker arrives on Feb 12, and it's the ONE QUARTER mark to the Season!
And what's more, it's only 23 days away. That's barely over 3 weeks.
Wowzeringos!!

Cold here again, but not quite as cold.
We stand currently at 34 degrees here in the capital city, still with no predicted rain.
Should be a nice afternoon in the 50's.
And that's OK for January!

Well, Everyone.
Do your darndest to have a Fabulous Friday and a Wonderous Weekend start this afternoon.
All in the sprit of Christmas, of course!!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!! It's going to be a cold miserable day here with a mix of sleet and snow arriving this afternoon. I don't mind the cold or the snow but I hate sleet and ice. I don't have much on the agenda for today. My allergies are acting up so I'll probably just lay around most of the day. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone! TGIF this has been a good and fast week,it was a coolish 44F on the drive to work today. The highs are going to be all the way in the mid 70's and cloudy this weekend. NO really cold weather to speak of the next week. I think winter is pretty much over with and it has been the warmest I can ever remember.Maybe next winter will be better! My mom and sister are will be leaving sunday morning so I am trying to savor the next 2 days! Have a good day everyone!

Happy Birthday - King O'Malley! :gift:

Hang in there with the kiddos! They live and learn. Big plus that they are doing productive positive things even if some of it is not going smoothly with tuition etc. I bet all will be fine with them. cheesy

I hope you and your hubby can get out of the rut. I think you two should go on a date! Wayne and I make sure every Saturday we do something together even if it's staying home playing a game or watching a movie. Maybe you can find something fun!

Good morning to all!

I have today off work! Yippie! Movie day for me. I havent had a day to myself in a long time. How is everyone doing? Anyone getting ready for this Christmas yet? We had a bad storm hit with blowing snow and white-out conditions yesterday. 32 car accident on the 402. CRAZY. It seems like when we get snow everyone but me forgets how to drive. Well, back to my movies. Wanted to pop on in and see if everyone is being good LOL. Ill be reading posts today too!

My grandchildren were over earlier and watching Mickey's Christmas Carol. I said, "oh no, there's Scrooge"! My grandson looked at me and said, "I thought his name was Steve"? I said, "Ebeneezer Steve"??? He said, "yes".

Oh my gosh that is just classic and adorable!

This is so true, Brad. It's the "love and prayers" part!!!

...

Internet support groups are great. Love and prayers from friends and family are wonderful, but it's also nice to know that you can commiserate with someone in the same boat.

They ended up with a little over 16 inches of snow. So they didn't get as much as expected but it still has everything shut down. My sister is worried about taking my niece down to the children's hospital tomorrow for her appointment because they got a lot of ice down in Seattle today. She was going to cancel the appointment but they couldn't get her back in until April. So my BIL is going to take off of work and take them in his blazer since it's 4 wheel drive.
hope it all works out for you and your niece today! Keep safe.

Nostalgia time!!!

We love both of those shows. The old shows were certainly much more "family friendly". We also watch 'Rawhide', 'Wanted Dead or Alive', and 'The Donna Reed Show' . Our son, Ethan, is name after a character John Wayne played in my favorite movie of all time, 'The Searchers".

I like to go back and re-read the previous years' countdown during the summer. And I will try to do it in late September. Really gets me in the mood for Christmas!!!

Greetings friends from snowy central Illinois. I'm not complaining at all about the wintery weather as this has been a relatively mild winter. I work in public transit and weather can cause serious operational havoc so I'm counting my blessings in that regard. Yesterday I had some time so I scrolled through the 2009 Christmas countdown. I was like wow this thing sure has grown. It was so cool so see everyone at that time hoping for 8000 posts vs last year when 30,000 was the goal! And it was really fun to see the excitement that everyone was feeling as Christmas 2009 approached. This site never ceases to amaze me. Have a great day friends.

Love the cute things kids say!
Once in Sunday school I mentioned to the kids that I watched "The Sound of Music" the night before. One little boy stood up and said, "how can you see music? "
