You really had me laughing on this one!!!

i've seen reports on the look good feel better. i think it's a wonderful thing. & hey seawaters we are here for you all the time, anytime. girl we will give you so much support, playtex will want to patent us! Ya' know, for their over the shoulder boulder holders?!love & hugs to you!!!!

So sorry to hear this, Mgramsey. I will always believe there is hope, even when there doesn't appear to be any.

We should have great weather this weekend. Snow should start tonight with a low of 26. The forecast high Saturday is 28 with a low of 9 and a few inches of snow. My kind of weather!

My Mom's cancer may be back. They found a spot in her pelvic area. With her health and age, there is probably little they can do. As I have shared before, she has fought a brave 10 year fight with colon cancer including 4 major surgeries.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We continue to pray for you Seawaters.

I love Pomp and Circumstance!!! Huge, huge, huge congratulations to your son. I wish I could have been there, but I won't be in Texas (Austin) until July. Do you think you will have any snow???
Austin-Texas-July-Snow??????? I will order some for you! It is VERY rare for Austin to ever see snow even in the winter. Where I am at we see it usually at least once a year. I think we got skipped this year but it's not over yet! :playing:

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is a little chilly here in northern California, but I am sure it will warm up to spring-like weather this afternoon. Not much planned for today except work and a quick trip to Chico for the eye doctor. I will try to be on later this evening. Have a great day, everyone!!!

Morning, everyone! Not much going on here today. It's gloomy and grey out, but what else is new? I am typing up some essays and then I have two classes today. I can't wait just for it to be the weekend so I can relax and have a break from homework.

My mom still isn't feeling right - the fogginess just won't go away and she is exhausted all of the time. The surgeon said her blood work is fine and that there is nothing to worry about. Even with that being said, she wants to see if something can be done because she can't stand feeling that way. It's been over a week since her surgery now. She called our family doctor this morning and they are supposed to call her back, so hopefully there is something they will be able to do for her.

I wish it was summer! I want to be able to grill out on the deck and play cornhole.

Nothing is new here. Both of the kids are taking naps. I am feeling a lot better today. My cold is just mostly in my chest now. EA still has it pretty bad, but there is really nothing I can give her except Motrin or Tylenol. She just has to fight it off I guess!
I hope EA is feeling better today!
Getting ready to call it a day in about 30 minutes! I did talk to my dad at lunchbreak and he sounded really good and upbeat. His nurse tells him he is about 70 percent at where he needs to be by May when he is due to be discharged which is great. I am just glad he is upbeat, nothing is worse than him sounding depressed because all of my life he has been the one to look at the bright side, and when someone like that all of a sudden becomes hopeless and depressed...its just a hard pill to swallow so to speak!
So happy to hear that your dad is improving! I know how it feels when a loved one is sick. You worry so much. I am sure hearing him upbeat has made your day!
Nothing like a scary movie to celebrate your
love for one another..
Being scared together brings lots of hugs for comfort!
this evening has been terrible. my s-i-l has a (spelling?)shi-tzu, Perkins, he was 16 & in very bad health, couldn't even stand any more w/out having seizures. this has gone on for months & today she had him put down.
Aww... So sorry for their loss. It is so hard to go through that!
Got a migraine.
CAH And SIT Congrats to your son and his success despite what his 4th grade teacher said.
I hope you feel better today!
Thanks for your well wishes! It was a great event to watch him graduate!

Good Morning MMC!

cakes are baked, picked up some more plywood for bases (those nice guys at the lumber store will even cut it the right size for me!) I do however have to figure out how to cut dents in it for the firetruck wheels.
Have to leave in a few minutes to look after Lindsay.

Hope you all have a fantastic day!
:merry:

Well, I gotta be honest. I'm slight aggravated. Seems like I never get to come here. I haven't been on two consecutive days in what seems like forever! I can't wait for basketball to be over!

Tonight we the wife's bday. Had Parent/Teacher Conference and then took her out to eat. But I had to stop by and say hello b/c I did't get to yesterday...I don't think.....long week.....

but it's over tomorrow.....and I can't wait to see you then!

Later, friends!
I was just thinking about you and wondering where you have been. We miss you! Happy Birthday to your wife!!!!
I wore my blond wig to school today because the kids begged to see one. They were shocked at how good it looked. One kid asked me if I had my hair "made straight"! None of the teachers could believe it was a wig. In fact, one said, "Who did your hair?" I said, "Raquel Welch." I am going to wear the shorter wig tomorrow.
Can we tell Blonde Jokes now? Hee hee!
I forgot to tell you guys about Look Good, Feel Better. It is a sort of "seminar" under the auspices of the American Cancer Society. Many businesses participate in these events for people who need a little pick-me-up and information on dealing with cancer, while at the same time learning about different services. They also give each participant a great "goody bag" filled with things that will be helpful when you deal with the various aspects of cancer. For example, they give out make-up and make-up tips, skin products to deal with the skin changes that result from chemo, and tips on wearing scarves, wigs, and hats. They have come up with a new mouth rinse that helps with the mouth and throat sores that can really be painful. The mouth rinse helps lessen the pain. They also give out Latisse. If you don't know what that is, check out Brooke Shields. It (Latisse) is not cheap, so these businesses are doing a great service!!! I have to call the Cancer Society tomorrow to let them know my coloring so I get the correct color make-up. I am amazed at the support and resources that are available.

But NOTHING can beat the love and support on this forum and the prayers that have come my way. I really makes my heart swell!!! And that's a good thing!!!
Sounds like a great seminar!
You are right about these forums. The best love and support around! ((((hugs)))) to you!
Im still here everyone. Been off sick. Bad chest/sinus infection with hot/cold sweats. Im on meds and on the mend. My job is a little busier now so I cant check the message board at work LOL. How is everyone doing? Time for me to go to bed but Ill check back tomorrow evening! Hugs and prayers to all!
I have been fighting a slight cold all week too! I hope you get better. We miss you on here!
daughter thinks i'm too over-protective, NOT, there's no such thing. she's 15 & wonders when i'll stop, NEVER, no such thing.
Not to worry! My daughter thought I was a little over protective too but she now thanks me for the way I was! She was allowed to do things but I kept a watchful eye on her. She graduated college and now a teacher and feels that if I let her "run wild" that she would have not accomplished good things in life. Keep up the good work, your daughter will thank you later for it! It never bothered my son, who is 21 years old now, that I am "overprotective". He actually never desired to be "wild". He is 21 years old and if he wanted to he could legally drink but doesn't want anything to do with it. His friends party but he just wanted an education and a good career. I am not knocking drinking, just meaning the big time partying that a lot of young adults like to do and even if they do doesn't mean they will turn out bad! I know lots of people who partied when they were young and turned out just fine! My son just chooses not to and I am proud of him! After graduation last night his buddies wanted to party, he just wanted to come home! He could change his mind someday but I hope he stays on this path. =)
I am thinking of Debbie Macombers Mrs Miracle. I love the New York City scenes..One of these years I do want to spend Christmas in NYC on Tv it looks beautiful....Oh well I need to get back to work...hope everyone has a great Morning!!!!
I want to go to New York sometime during December! Better yet, I want to go to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!
Then, we'll skate on the Canal on Sunday.
I wish it would get cold enough to ice skate here! So glad you are back with us on the forums. We have missed you!

I am so very sorry. I will be praying that she don't have it!!!!!

I am working from home today - more computer work and housework while I wait for things to download - should keep me busy and out of mischief for a bit
What kind of mischief will you get into if you are not busy? Will you and Mouse run wild through the house tearing things up?
I had fun at the track last night and actually came home 5 dollars ahead.
Congrats! Better than losing. I have not been to the track in over 10 years. It's fun!

I am sorry to hear. It's frustrating to be so exhausted. I hope she gets an answer to the problem.

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's overcast here in southeast GA this morning, and a little cool for a change. I met with the insurance adjuster about Nancy's car damage yesterday. He says that if I take the car to the shop on Monday morning, they'll have it fixed by the end of the week. Nice! And just in time for my trip to the mountains!

Nancy's trying to get me to agree to buying a weight loss program called P90X. Ever heard of it? I never had, but lately everyone around here is talking about it. It's supposed to make you lose weight and tone your body in 90 days. It looks like an awful lot of hard workouts to me. And they say the diet is super strict. Can you imagine me with abs of steel? At this point, I'd be happy with abs of a sturdy cushion!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Which brings up another announcement from the 'Pines.
Carl has opened up a delivery service!!
Yes, now you can phone in an order for fired twinkes and have them sent to your front door for home enjoyment. You can even order up your own personal coffee blend, if you're so inclined!
(That accommodating Camel!)
Please tell me that this service will be shut down on Pines Day. If people know they can phone in orders no one will show up for the Pines!

You know what though, I just LOVE this idea. I can get that yummy coffee sent to my front door before I get out of bed in the morning. What a nice way to wake up! Will Carl himself deliver? I can really freak out my neighbors when they see a camel at my door with coffee!

Well, I don't think this will hurt the 'Pine's visit too much since you DO have to pay for the delivery while the first ones are free at the door.

And yes, Carl can deliver if there aren't too many orders at one time so long as no local laws are violated.
(Anyone know of any local restrictions on camels?)

.....Another great "Christmas in New York" movie is "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear," but it's awfully hard to find. They released it in VHS, but never on DVD. (I found a VHS copy and transferred it to DVD.)
I have that movie, Merry!
It is one of a group of 10-15 I try to watch every Christmas Season.
(I tried to transfer my tape to DVD too but got a message saying copying of the tape was blocked.)

I noticed North Ga around Blairsville is going to get some flakes starting tonight too! I will also keep your Mom in myprayers and hope that she will be okay and the cancer is not back!

Award to MM for the Best Original Line of the Week!

Thanks so much for this recommendation! I love all the Christmas in York type movies as you know.I will look for it on Amazon too!

CAH-I would LOVE to go to Macy's Thanksigiving Day parade as well! I do get nervous is large crowds but would make an exception for that. Perhaps one day I will go. I am already planning a snow trip for West Virginia next Christmas vacation!! Everyone that lives up north I know gets sick of the white stuff but us that never get to see it really miss out! It's what is getting me through this spring and summer is thinking about taking my dogs and even jordan up north to play in some snow for the first time!Brandi grew up in the snow belt and thinks im stark raving mad!lol

Phew! Good to hear. Freebies will always bring a crowd. =)
Tea-riffic.
(Then you have a music reference in there too!)
I haven't been able to think of a "tea version" of "javalicious." "Tea-licious" is just TOO obvious. "Cuppalicious"?
Tea-lightful!?
Good ones!

Christmasstar, you can bake some cakes for Carl on his new delivery service!

That is terrible news. All the best to you, your mother and family at this time. Hopefully she can keep her spirits up.

I wish it would get cold enough to ice skate here! So glad you are back with us on the forums. We have missed
you!

I miss it. I try to come on during work, but sometimes it is busy. Lunch is OK to post, but there is so much catching up. I think I will start doing a morning and lunch schedule to even it out! Thank you though, C-A-H. I miss everyone here, too!

this evening has been terrible. my s-i-l has a (spelling?)shi-tzu, Perkins, he was 16 & in very bad health, couldn't even stand any more w/out having seizures. this has gone on for months & today she had him put down. my bro called me & said to come over after work because she'd be upset. well, i got there before them & when they drove up my bro was driving, my s-i-l was in the back seat holding him & my mama was w/ them. bro had already dug the hole before they went. bro & i got the box ready, cut some of his blankie & wrapped him in it, put his 2 favorite toys w/ him. OMG, that was so hard! ya'll, he was 16 years old! we all loved him. my s-i-l is pitiful, she said a piece of her died w/ him. they did EVERYTHING together! i brought a solar cross from work so we could mark his grave. i'm feeling really low right now. wish hubby was here!

I'm so sorry to hear about Perkins, merry. ((Hugs)) to you & your SIL. I will keep all of you in my thoughts & prayers. God bless. xoxo

I'm trying to catch up, but I have to quit for now.

Got a migraine.
It's been quite sunny the last two days which I love, but the reflection off the snow and cars has triggered a big one. Still managed to work through it. I do have good news to share though, I spotted twelve blades of grass against the wall and four of them were green. Yippee! If it keeps up this way, the snow will be gone for my birthday. It's only happened twice that I can recall. I don't mind the snow for Christmas and snapping photos, but it sticks around too long and since I don't enjoy outdoor winter recreation like I did as a kid, it's not much fun for me.

The weekend is in sight - not sure I'll make it here tomorrow, but I'll check in over the weekend.

CAH And SIT Congrats to your son and his success despite what his 4th grade teacher said.

Keep a merry thought in your head!

Hope you are feeling much better today, Auntie!

Good evening, everyone! Hope you're all having a great evening! I'm getting ready to head to bed. I have to lay down for a little while before I head to work.

Well, I will talk to you all tomorrow. It's almost the weekend. Even though I work, it's the weekend and DH is off too. That's at least a plus in my book!

Enjoy your weekend time with your DH =)

I used to LOVE The Alfred Hitchcock Hour. His stories could be so creepy because I could imagine their happening!!!

Which Christmas mysteries are you talking about? I would be interested because I love Christmas and I love mysteries.

Hey C,
Mary Higgins Clark & her daughter, Carol Higgins Clark write the Regan Reilly series, I hear those are pretty good. Here are some:

Silent Night
All Through the Night
Santa Cruise
Dashing through the Snow

I've also heard Joann Fluke is good. She has one called Candy Cane Murder, that also has 2 mini mysteries w/ in it.

I also came across this list on line:

Merry, Merry Ghost by Carolyn Hart
The Body in the Sleigh by Katherine Hall Page
Aunt Dimity's Christmas by Nancy Atherton
Hark! The Herald Angel Screamed by Mignon F. Ballard
A Highland Christmas by M. C. Beaton
Jingle Bell Bark by Laurien Berenson
Rituals of the Season by Margaret Maron
Christmas Mourning by Margaret Maron
Rest You Merry by Charlotte MacLeod
Christmas Cookie Murder by Leslie Meier
Mail Order Murder by Leslie Meier
'Tis the Season to Be Murdered by: Valerie Wolzien

I'll let you know if I try any out =)

Good evening, Christmas friends. We had a very busy day today. I worked until a little after noon, then Hubby and I went to Chico for doctor appointments. He had a stress test and I went in for a urinary tract infection. I HAVE to get that cleared up so it won't interfere with my surgery. Then Hubby went to Knights of Columbus and I went to Wal-Mart to get my prescription. I picked up two BlueRay DVDs, some socks so I have plenty to wear to chemo, two cooking magazines, and deodorant.

Have a great rest of the evening. TTYL.

Your wigs sound lovely!! You can be a different hot mama every day

We should have great weather this weekend. Snow should start tonight with a low of 26. The forecast high Saturday is 28 with a low of 9 and a few inches of snow. My kind of weather!

Enjoy the beautiful snow!

My Mom's cancer may be back. They found a spot in her pelvic area. With her health and age, there is probably little they can do. As I have shared before, she has fought a brave 10 year fight with colon cancer including 4 major surgeries.

Keeping you & your Mom is my thoughts & prayers!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We continue to pray for you Seawaters.

I have found then to be a brillant seller. A lady bought 2 this morning and she is putting then one each side of her door way. and i have seen a few on the roads .

Hope you all have a nice day

Happy Friday, shellie! Those outdoor trees sound lovely. I may have to pop in for a visit & buy some  I wish!

We're expecting 50-degree sunny weather, then several inches of snow tomorrow. Crazy! The snow will be pretty to see, but it will mess up my schedule big-time.

I can help you on vintage movies in general, but Blu-ray---confession time. I'm not very familiar with what's out on Blu-ray, because we don't have an HD TV, so we haven't gotten a Blu-ray player. When we do someday, I want the Blu-ray of "The General" (Buster Keaton, with the Carl Davis musical score). It's beautiful on DVD, so it must be stunning on Blu-ray. And maybe "Gone with the Wind" for the same reason.

If you're still in a Broadway mood, get the TV (Disney) version of "Annie"---NOT the movie with Aileen Quinn, but the TV version with Alicia Morton. It sticks closer to the stage version, and the musical arrangements are very nice. (And the story includes Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!) The production number of "Easy Street" is wonderful! I know it's on DVD, but I'm not sure about Blu-ray.

I've watched the Alfred Hitchcock TV shows when I've come across them in the past. I have a VHS with three episodes: (1) Claude Rains as a clergyman who's tempted to spend the church money on a horse-race bet---I love the twist at the end! (2) Keenan Wynn plotting to win the "day's run" pool on a cruise ship, and (3) the famous one starring Peter Lorre as a man who bets another man his lighter will fail---the loser will have his finger chopped off ...

I will look out for those! Thanks Merry! They just started playing them on Encore mystery, so I've been DVR'ing them. I just watched one last week called "The Second Wife" w/ June Lockhart. That's another one w/ an excellent twist towards the end. I vaguely remember that one.

Old-time radio shows are wonderful, too. When I was a teenager I used to listen to a radio station that played OTR from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Sunday nights. I got hooked on "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar," which originally ran as a serial---each story was in five parts, one 15-minute episode each night Monday through Friday, usually ending on a cliffhanger.

That sounds really interesting, too. I'm adding it to my wish list!

We miss you, too!

I'll keep her in my thoughts & prayers, Jennifer. Hope they figure out what's going on so she can start feeling well & back to herself again soon!

I wish it was summer! I want to be able to grill out on the deck and play cornhole.

I love cornhole!! We have "tournaments" in the summer w/ friends!

I hope EA is feeling better today!

So happy to hear that your dad is improving! I know how it feels when a loved one is sick. You worry so much. I am sure hearing him upbeat has made your day!

Being scared together brings lots of hugs for comfort!

Very true! I like the way you think, CAH =)

Aww... So sorry for their loss. It is so hard to go through that!

I hope you feel better today!
Thanks for your well wishes! It was a great event to watch him graduate!
