Christmas Countdown - 2012

We ran around most of the morning and finished up our day early. I have had a slight cold all week and it's getting a bit worse. Blah! Oh well, going to rest up. Sunday is a big day for me so I have to get better!

Hope you feel better soon! This cold that I've had is horrible. It's been going bad around here where I live. Hopefully you can quick it fast.

Good evening everyone! it's getting late in the day and I have been lazy this afternoon. I have an early day tomorrow I leave around 530 in the morning,and its getting very close to Court on Tuesday. One thing I plan on doing is write down on notebook an outline of all the points I need to make. The lawyer told me it was okay..and at this point I don't care how I look I am going to just answer the best I can and write down all of what I need to say. I will do that tomorrow night. I think I need to wash clothes tonight and get my unifmorms ready for work...have a good night everyone!

I don't usually sign on over the weekend, but I wanted to give an update on DH. Surgery went well, home the same day. He's feeling much better today, eating solid foods. Almost back to normal!

That's great news! Glad he's starting to feel better!

Take care of yourself. The colds around here seem to develop into walking pneumonia. My former classroom aide has it and has been out of work for a while. Nasty stuff!!!

Good morning! Just woke up and heard about Whitney Houston..RIP.. The grammy's are tonight and I heard on the news that they will have a special tribute for here,so I may watch it this year! Anyone who grew up in the 80's knows that when you think about that ERA whitney houston comes to mind..that voice was amazing. It's just so sad,I feel so bad for her daughter too,I remember watching her reality show she had a few years ago and her daughter is probably like 17 now. just sad!

This is very sad and she was an amazing singer/actress. I am hoping to be able to stay awake tonight to watch the Grammy's as well, but I got up early today, so I am not sure if I will make it there or not!

I went to the early morning service at but came home to help cook lunch...some teacher friends of Brandi is coming for lunch. She goes back in 2weeks,and she is half looking forward and half dreading it. We are leaving him at the day care by her school and it has an excellent creditials. But I know she will be glad to get back to teaching. Okay I have a squash casserole in the oven that needs cheese put on top...have a great mid day everyone!

I hope you guys had a nice visit with some of Brandi's friends today. I am sure she is a little anxious about going back to work. That is how I was going back to work, but it was also nice in a way too, because I had adult conversation again! I usually only had it with my DH or with my family when I would occasionally see them. I started to miss my friends from work!

Today we're going to see "The Artist" (the new black-and-white silent movie) with a friend of ours, then we'll go out to eat. Weekends are too short---tomorrow's Monday already. We planned a day in yesterday because we were expecting snow, but it never materlialized. We stayed in anyway and I made spaghetti with Spatini sauce.

About to take my dog out to to his thing and look and see how cold it is...then I guess I will go to bed. I had a great weekend. hate to see it end! I love my job so I usually look forward to mondays but this weekend,not so much...I will be the happiest person in the world at lunchtime on tuesday! My sweety is sick but went to work anyway. I just got back from getting her Birthday/Valentines day gifts. I hope they will brighten her day. Her birthday is tomorrow, so I just take care of both things at once. I'm not big on Valentines day, but I don't mind getting her a little something special for it.

That sounds so nice! I am sure it will make her feel a little better and she will love it!

how tragic about whitney houston, your heart breaks for her mother and her daughter. such a waste of an amazing talent.

on a lighter note... i don't want to jinx it.... but what a wonderful year so far! as some of you may know i had a terrible year last year, 3 of my closest family members died suddenly and my mother in law was diagnosed with cancer. (she's ok now though, thankfully) but 2012 is just full of positivity. i've lost quite a bit of weight, i'm looking and feeling well, my career is heading in the right direction (thank goodness, it's about time) i'm about to put an offer in for a beautiful home and my wonderful family are healthy and well, especially my gorgeous daughter.

i'm hoping the year continues to be so good, because surely that means christmas 2012 will be the best one yet???

i hope you are all enjoying 2012 so far. xxx

Not a lot going on today ...Hermione will soon be too big for her mommy to pick up .....it is always so amazing to me that the love from a furchild makes me feel so special and loved unconditionally....including kitties....I know there are some who say they don't like cats but that HAS to be because you don't have any ....they are just affectionate in their own way as dogs....that is why I love both dogs and cats.....heck,I love all animals except snakes but I still would not be mean to one because even they have feelings

I'm glad Hermione is doing well! How is Lily doing? I agree, anyone who doesn't like cats has never had one!

It is quite frigid here and I am not going anywhere today.....we will probably have a fire in the fireplace and hopefully take it easy when my husband gets home from work....my left hand/wrist is killing me..,wondering if it might be carpal tunnel....no matter I have to keep going regardless just like all the rest of us do ...xo

Cold, here, too. Have you tried wrapping your wrist with an ace bandage? The support it provides is wonderful!

I cannot seem to shake this cold and it has gotten worse. I have to go to work today so I hope I do okay! I thought I would be better today. Maybe after I get up and around I will feel better. We will see!

I was a horse-crazy little girl when Secretariat won the Triple Crown---I remember watching the races on TV. I remember his winning the Belmont so far in front of the other horses and pulling farther away with every stride. (The film footage looks so old now when they dig up the clip!) I should check out the movie!

I love horses, but absolutely cannot watch horse racing as I am so afraid I will see a horse get hurt.

You should probably have a doctor take a look at it. Have you considered wearing a support glove or wrist support on that hand? It helps me sometimes. My right hand cramps up and gets sore when I have a lot of writing (proofreading marks) to do, and sometimes when I crochet.

I have the same problem with my wrist - an ace bandage helps!

I hope you're right---sometimes once you get going in the morning a cold will feel better. If not, relax when you can, and have some nice hot tea with honey and lemon, and keep hydrated. I hope it goes away soon!

Yes, the tea with honey and lemon works great! I had some lemon ginseng tea that worked wonders, too.

I must have SAD (winter depression) or something, I've been so blue some days without much reason.

I've been that way a lot the past year - I'm going to start taking a multivitamin.

CM thank you so much for asking. She is doing better now. We're thinking of taking her cone off today even though it's only been 6ish days. We're all looking forward to it. So glad your Lily is doing well and that her stitches will be coming out soon.
