Thanks!!! I was down there that day but I've been vaccinated so I'm not to worried. It sounds like all of the people who have come down with it never had the vaccine.

Sad news in our tiny town. We have two flower shops in town. One of them caught on fire last night, destroying around $150,000 of Valentine gifts...

I didn't even know this place was still open, but the news said it had been there for 25 years. They interviewed the owner, who was on a delivery when the fire started. He was crying & it was horrible. It's a horrible thing to happen anytime, but especially before his busiest day of the year. I know I shouldn't wonder about this part, but I do---what will happen about the orders & money he's already taken in for deliveries today? I hope people are understanding & don't give hime a hard time; he's got enough to deal with right now.

That is terrible news. What an unfortunate time and event to happen... Wow.

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! My sister, who works in the same office I do, received an absolutely HUGE Teddy Bear this morning. The box was almost bigger than the delivery man. She sat the thing in her chair at the front desk, and put a pen in it's paw with a rubber band. She is telling all the patients that "Frank" the bear is her new assistant. Frank is the perfect employee; he doesn't complain, he is always in his seat, and he is friendly looking. Unfortunately, he doesn't type very fast, and he can't reach the top two shelves for charts. All in all, I don't think he's going to replace any of the secretaries very soon.

Good afternoon,

I am feeling really down today, I have been hanging around home for 5 weeks now waiting for my foot to heal, which it is doing very well, but I just want to go back to my normal work routine. I am trying to cheer myself up by watching a Christmas movie called Becoming Santa, it is a very touching movie/documentary. That and the Christmas commercials on it are helping a bit.
I have to go and pick out my Christmas Song A Day, for my thread,which is really helping me keep the spirit, I have discovered so many songs I have never heard, and of course the classics, and some I just don't like but post anyway. I do have my Bruins vs Rangers tonight, and I bought my wife some chocolate covered strawberries, they were at the grocery store I had to get them, I am making fried chicken and mashed potatoes for dinner for my boys since that is one of their favorites. Happy Valentine's Day!


I will be on throughout the rest of the day.

Good afternoon and Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you're all having a great day! Sorry I didn't really post yesterday. DH was using the laptop last evening and I was downloading new material to my Nook, so I just never made it around to making a post on this thread then.

Is anyone doing anything special today? DH and I are going to dinner and a movie tonight. We haven't been out alone since our anniversary in July. I am excited. It sound be a nice evening.

We gave a our kids each a few gifts this morning. They loved them.

DH is out picking Ella up at the dog groomers, so I am going to try to read what I can of the countdown.

Took our son to his first day at his new job, he starts his training today. Hopefully the start of a long and prosperous career.

I am almost back to feeling 100%. This cold has really been horrible. Thanks for asking.

I went to work yesterday and felt terrible all day. As most of you know I work with animals. I have this awful cold and being around multiple animals really got me sneezing. My boss let someone else take over to clean up cages and kept me out of the pet shop. I work the counter and do office work too. He saw I was feeling rough and let me sit in the office for awhile to do some computer work.

I got home to a wonderful surprise of flowers and a Beatles CD as SIT mentioned to you all. He is so sweet! That really cheered me up!

I am still dealing with the cold but I think I will be okay.

As SIT mentioned my son started his first day at his new job right in the middle of Downtown Dallas in a skyrise building. He has to dress in business clothes. I never thought I would see the day that he would not be wearing jeans and a t-shirt. He was excited!

Sounds like you have a wonderful boss!

What a wonderful hubby you have as well too! Aww SIT!

Today is going to be rather busy but I'm excited for tonight. My girlfriend and I are going out to celebrate Valentines day so we don't have to deal with the crowds tomorrow. We'll still go to a romantic movie tomorrow but hopefully at an off time. I hope you all have a great day!
