Christmas Countdown - 2012

HI everyone
How you all doing
I have had one crap day.
One of the firms i buy a lot of stuff of and that i buy ALL my christmas stuff are going to into administion(not spelt right lol) and will be closing at the end of march. they cant beleive it and i cant beleive it
Its not them . they are part of a larger thing which give them 3 years to make up the 3.5 million as they only had 2 million of it made up. the receivers came in thursday and just told them to fire a lot of the staff and some of the office staff. one girl is gone ans she was my main person to talk to
I sat for a while and never spoke and thats not me as i can talk for ireland lol
i am really worried about the christmas stock as there stock was so good and at the right money
But they have told me that all pallets will be 1/2 price so i have picked about 10. at the moment they will still be getting a lot of pallets in to the end of march
they have about 300 pallets of christmas stuff. so am gonna have to buy my chrsitmas stuff now o hell its gonna mean a lot of money and 2. the storage.
i had 5 pallets booked from last week and i also got then 1/2 price but guess that did not make me that happy as all i can think of is the christmas stuff as it really does well in the shop as i can sell it at the right price .
And any pallets all have to be paid and lifted by end of march. am goona try and take as many as possibe of them.

We have doppler radar here at work,plus we have the radio on and our area is under a tornado watch until 8pm. This time of year it is nothing to "usually" to be in a tornado watch it's the "warnings" that get me! anyways the winds are blowing up to 25 and gusts up to 35 MPH and it's cloudy and very warm..just an uneasy feeling in the air today!! just 2 more hours until my weekend starts!!! have a great afternoon everyone!

2 inches of heavy, wet snow mixed with some freezing rain - it isn't over yet. Now the storm is extended through Saturday morning. Local weather crews are saying it is still heading your way.

We are in the midst of a storm - schools are shut down all around due to the icy road conditions. Sleeting out right now, but it is far worse south of where I live. The good news is that it is absolutely beautiful out!!!

Well, it was supposed to get up to 70 degrees here today, and I don't think it's going to go much above the 49 degrees it is right now. It's a little breezy here, but thank goodness no high winds. I'm still holding out for that thunderstorm, though.

This is so funny to me!!! People up north for the most part get to hating the snow by late winter,while weather buffs like me in the south would give thier left leg just to see a few inches of the white stuff!! I am sure I would grow to hate it if I had to shovel it off the roof,or the driveway every morning before I leave!! by far the worst for me would be the drive on the slick road surface...!!! I am glad you lucked out this time though and from the long range forecast even the northeast looks like winter could be over this year!!

I lucked out two ways. After I got to work it snowed prettily for a little bit, and I enjoyed that---especially since the house across from my office building still has a huge Christmas wreath mounted on the front of it.

I love to watch snow fall and to see snow in the wintertime, but driving on snowy or icy roads gives me major nerves. I don't have a big heavy SUV, just a little Corolla with all-season tires, so it doesn't take much to get me sliding. And, believe it or not, New England drivers are AWFUL when it snows. Especially about clearing snow off their cars. They tend to take a half-hearted swipe at the windshield, then they hit the highway. You haven't lived until a 6-inch-deep chunk of packed snow flies off the SUV in front of you on the highway in your general direction.

But when I don't have to drive in it---or shovel it several times a month---let it snow!

Anyway, they scratch at our windows all the time. I will look out and they are looking right back at me.

Cat and Mr. startled each other that way once. We have windows near the basement ceiling that can be tilted open for ventilation, and Mr. had just reached up to open a window at the same moment Cat was trying to look in. Mr. says they both squalled and jumped back at the same time!

Thank you, I intend to! It is quite windy out, but I don't think it is that high of a wind - hard to tell, though, as I live in the woods. Stay safe, too!!!

Good afternoon, MMC! How is everyone this afternoon? I hope you're all well! I had a chiropractor appt. this afternoon, so I slept a few hours and got up and went to that.

DH has to go teach in the morning in Pittsburgh, so after he gets off work, he's going to his parents, which is about a 1/2 away from our house, that way he doesn't have to wake the kids up too early in the morning because he would have to leave at 4:30 to teach. He's just going to parents tonight to spend the evening with them and spend the night. It will be so much better for the kids in the long run. Since I work, I just figured I would come to my parents. The live in the town where I work, which is 1/2 hour away from where I work, so I decided to just stay out here, since I had to come out for a chiropractor appt., instead of going home and then coming back out for work tonight. It saves on gas.

Anyway, nothing is new here. Like I said, I work tonight and the rest of the weekend. I didn't even check to see when I am off next week.

Well, I am going to get caught up on the countdown. Ttyl. I will be back later to check in! :hi:

First day back, a lot of pain in my foot, I may only due another half day tomorrow, personnel mgr said it shouldn't a problem if I have to do that. I do feel tired tonight, my wife and I have a dinner date tomorrow, the kids are going to be watched my our friends.

When my brother got home from work tonight, he wrote me a check and told me he was buying my iPhone for me. I am still in shock - what a gift! My birthday isn't for a couple of months so I have no clue what the present is for!

Just getting off the phone with Brandi and she has made plans for us tonight....seems we are going to double with one of my friends and his wife to see the movie "act of valor" it's suppose to be movie of the year material...then we are going out to eat at Texas roadhouse...sounds good to me.lol!! I can't believe it's already friday! another week down and closer to Holiday season 2012!! HAVE a good morning everyone!!

Good evening, everyone! Looks like it's been a quiet evening around here. It's sooo windy here. The fire department has been being called out for wires and trees down.

It's getting colder out too. Brrr...it's says it's 43F, but it's feels a lot colder with the wind blowing.

Wow - the wind is crazy out! When I went to class earlier this afternoon, it wasn't too bad at all, but then by the time I left class it was nuts. I went to look at the Redbox machine after class and the wind was literally pushing me in the direction of the machine when I got out of my car LOL - I probably looked ridiculous to anyone who saw me blowing along!

We are supposed to get a little bit of snow tonight and some snow tomorrow. The meteorologists are not calling for more than an inch, but I have a feeling that we may get more. For as long as I can remember, my mom and grandma would always point out when there were a lot of birds on the wires that it meant that we were getting some crazy weather. That belief ALWAYS is right. Anytime I seem to see a ton of them together either in the sky or huddled on a wire, we either get a ton of rain or snow. I saw about 60 on a wire driving home tonight. That being said - bet we get more than an inch!
