I'm a bit worried about my sister, her dog Hunter is not doing so well. He ruptured a disc, and they're worried about possible paralysis. I can't imagine seeing him in so much pain. She admitted him into the vet hospital so they could monitor him & keep him comfortable. She was having trouble keeping him from over exerting/hurting himself, and last night he had an episode where he escaped out the dog door & went up & down the steps, which led to a seizure. Her other pup, Hailey, is lost without her brother & keeps howling. They want to send him to a specialist in Madison to do a major surgery, but it costs up to $5,000, and they can't guarantee that it will help him, and even if it does, he'll have at least a year of recovery, physical therapy, rehabilitation, etc. And he's over 10 years old, so she has to decide if it's even worth it for him since a beagle's life span is @ 12-14 years. Plus, it's a risky surgery for his age. Wish I could be there to giver her moral support. Can you guys please pray for the both of them??

Sorry I am just now reading this, Snowflake. Any updates? I will be praying!

I'll join you @ the flight there, MerryCarey!! Cannot wait!
Maybe Cat wants to come too?

I haven't seen him in a few days, but if he comes around in time tomorrow night, I'll whisk him away to the 'Pines for a couple hours. (As long as Carl is okay with cats visiting the 'Pines--?)

I am jealous of the snowstorm! We have had some snow this year, but nothing truly significant. I am secretly hoping that we get pounded with at least a foot, but the temperatures are going to be in the 60's next week so that will never happen. I will send a jet your way to pick you up! Stay safe if the storm arrives!

You wouldn't like this snowstorm---I think it's supposed to switch back and forth between snow and rain a couple times. Sounds like a slushy mess in the making.

When I drove my son to the kindergarden this morning
suddenly the breaks on the car just did not work!
That was very scary experience..

That is very scary! I am glad you guys are okay!

checking my account on line found out that ******* , my phone company, without my authorization took a payment, that was already made last week, out of my account. I never ever at any time gave them permission to take payments directly from my account. AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It scares me to know they can do that. Going to bank this morning to get it fixed, already sent an email to ******** (afraid I was not very nice about it)
I need a mug of Christmas tea

Sorry to hear this happened! I hope you got everything figured out!

I have avoided getting sick for weeks now while everyone around me suffered from one ailment after another, but I finally lost. When I went ot bed last night, my throat was really sore. This morning, it doesn't hurt too much, but I'm hoarse and less thatn 100%. Doggone it!!

I think I'm coming down with a cold which isn't good at all, especially with all of the work I have to do. I went out to the mall, to lunch, and to the grocery store on Thursday and I started to feel sick on Sunday, so I know I picked something up at one of those places.

Words of wisdom: Hot tea. With honey and lemon juice. In gallons. I swear that has kept the last two colds I had from getting worse and moving into my chest.

I took the day off today, my wife and I are going to celebrate her birthday a bit late. She has a coupon for Benihana Japanese restaurant that's only good for the month of her birthday, and only during the week. So we are going there for lunch and doing some other stuff today, I hope everyone has a great day!

Hope you and CAH enjoyed the day yesterday!

Saturday, I opened Bernie's store and cooked all day. We had Bernie's 75th birthday bash Saturday night, and we fed almost 300 people. Whew! It was a lot of fun. We had plenty of food, karaoke, fellowship, and my son and I played guitar and sang. It was his first opportunity to play in front of a lot of people, and he ate it up! LOL I think folks would have stayed longer, but it got COLD, and we didn't have any heaters....it was 80° the day before.

Yesterday, we went to my mom's for lunch. Then me, my son and my uncle walked through a field of planted pine trees to verify mom's property line. Her neighbor (A relative) is selling her bordering property, and I was trying to make sure none of our stuff was on the new owner's property. Sure enough, I have to get out and move some stuff. I'm glad we checked, but walking through those briar-infested woods was tough!

Anyway, last night we went to Bernie's house for his family-only get-together for his birthday.

Now I'm beat. Nancy has a bad cough

Sounds like your family had a fun weekend! Hope Nancy is feeling better!

As Snow-in-Texas mentioned, we are going out for my birthday again! I never celebrated it twice in one month. If you have a Benihana restaurant around and sign up for the birthday club online they will give you a gift certificate for 30 bucks! We use it every year. No catch to it at all but it is only just for the birthday recipient, not $30.00 off the total bill. It's a pricey restaurant so it's easy to use the total amount. My family just took me there on my birthday but going again to use the gift certificate. The only problem is, they will know it's my birthday because of the gift certificate so they are going to sing to me! *hides*

I am so glad Wayne has the day off. We plan to have a very nice day and maybe catch the race on TV if it doesn't rain!

I hope you all have a Merry Day!!!!

Hope you enjoyed your day!

Oooo!
I LIKE that remedy, Merry!

Hello friends...I have been away from the site for a bit. As some of you may know, I joined a dating site about a month ago. I have had lots of dates and met some very nice ladies. But I have not had potential love connection..until this past weekend. I had a date with a lovely woman about 40 miles from me. She is a nurse and we have many similar interests. She likes to dine out, cook and grill and home, travel, take weekend road trips and lots of other cool things just like I do. She also absolutely LOVES Christmas just as I do. She was so thrilled when I shared with her my love for Christmas and the fact that I'm on this site. I'm really excited about the possibilities with her.

Hope you guys are all doing well and I'm so thankful for each and everyone who post/contribute to this site. Ofen I just come on here to read and take in the wonderful spirit from this site and all of you who make it what it is. Thank you!

Congrats! I am so happy for you and glad to hear you're great news! I hope everything works out!

Last Thursday, I became violently ill. It was a 24 hour flew, but it took a lot out of me. At times, I could barely move! It was mostly gone by Friday.

Glad you're feeling better!

Good afternoon everyone. We were told yesterday that my Mom's cancer is back. Given her past surgeries and age, it is basically inoperable. It is in the pelvic area, buried inside scar tissue. The good news is that it is a rare and slow growing type and all her vital organs are clear for now. Not sure what the next step is, if anything.

On a positive note, our high school baseball season kicks off today with our first game. My son starts in leftfield and bats 5th. He is just a sophomore so hopefully it will be a fun 3 seasons of high school baseball. We are very much a baseball family. To us, football, basketball, golf are ok but pale in comparison to baseball.

Have a great day everyone.
I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. At least it is a slow growing type and her organs are still clear. Hopefully, the doctors can agree on a treatment that can help. I'm still praying for her.

Good luck to your son! cheesy

I've heard that eating local honey helps prevent allergy attacks. Would you believe there is an apiary a couple miles from my house that sells honey? Maybe it's a sign!

Sorry to hear that but guess is anything is good is that it is not in any of the organs. and with it being slow growing and as you get older your metabolish slows down to so maybe the 2 together it could take a long time. hopefully there might be somthing they can do to help someway

I've heard of that, too. Give it a try, let us know if it helps!

My girlfriend and I are going to see a movie tonight, not sure which one and I don't really care as I just want some us time.

Hope you guys have a great night together!

Good afternoon, everyone! It is noon here and I am getting hungry so I think I'm going to make myself a salad for lunch. I have a lot of studying to do today - a midterm tomorrow and a test on Thursday. I wish that I had some TV shows to watch tonight, but nothing is on aside from Last Man Standing. I am really in the mood for a hockey game, but the Penguins don't play until tomorrow.

I think I'm coming down with a cold which isn't good at all, especially with all of the work I have to do. I went out to the mall, to lunch, and to the grocery store on Thursday and I started to feel sick on Sunday, so I know I picked something up at one of those places.

Next week is spring break - thank goodness. I need some time off! I am not going anywhere but I don't mind, I'll probably take a vacation in the summer.

I am off to do some studying - have a great day, everyone!

Good luck on your tests! I hope you feel better soon!

The area between my index finger and my thumb is swollen like a balloon right now. I started taking notes for my study guide at 12:30 and I finished at 7:00 PM. I only stopped once to eat dinner and that was only a 15 minute break.

Hopefully it goes down because I swear my hand looks like a claw right now and it hurts to straighten it at all. Thanks, college!

I'm so sorry to hear your mother's cancer is back. I pray she finds comfort and isn't in too much pain. I will be praying for you as well.

Good luck to your son!
