Greetings and happy Friday friends. Taking a weekend road trip to Galena, IL, one of my favorite little towns on the planet. Looking forward to enjoying the nice shops, restaraunts, and historical sites. And then relax in the pool and sauna. Hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe weekend.

Well here's what we've has to deal with so far and the worst is still to come.

Good afternoon, everyone!

Just finished eating my lunch. Ready for the weekend. The good part is that I have less than three hours of work from the time my lunch break is over. Also, today seems to have been going by at a decent pace. I like it like that.

The weather hasn't been too nice today. It is fairly windy with some snow. A typical beginning of March day in Ottawa. Things should improve next week.

Kim and I have no real plans for this evening. I have to go to the gym sometime today. I did not get to go last night. My friend couldn't make it until later, so I finished some homework and hung out with Kim. No big plans for the weekend. I have 4 on 4 tomorrow night and flag football on Sunday. Other than that, the schedule is pretty open! Maybe I can get some more school work done?!

Have a great Friday, everyone! Hope you are looking forward to the first weekend of March as much as I am!

YOUR WEEKEND

MerryCarey, vintage Christmas music as in Bing, Dean, Frank, Perry and others like them? Why I ask is because when you mention vintage movies you are watching some that most have not heard of. I thought there might be vintage music that are out there that most have not heard of as well. I love all Christmas music but especially the ones I mentioned above! =)

No, that's nostalgic, but not vintage. I mean seriously vintage, like early 1900s into the mid-1920s. I collected some files of old Christmas/winter cylinders and 78s off the Internet and burned them onto a CD, and I keep it in my car. The oldest one I have is a band arrangement of the Hallelujah Chorus, recorded in 1894. Sometime when I have the energy and motivation I may put together an hour-long show of these for MCR.

Good late morning, Christmas friends. I had two doctors' appointments this morning and just returned. I had to go in to see my regular doctor so she could prescribe antibiotics for this cold/infection that came on suddenly early Wednesday morning and kept getting worse yesterday morning. My oncologist wanted me to get checked out since I have surgery on Wednesday. My doctor and oncologist agree that the antibiotics can't hurt. My doorbell just rang. Back in a few. Well, well, well. I won some drawings from the Volunteer Fire Department breakfast: a long-sleeved T-shirt, a hat, a hair dryer, some local honey, a box of John Deere toys, and a bag of individually packaged nuts and chocolates. What a pleasant surprise!!! I hope y'all have a great day!

congrats on all the nice prizes!
Hope you feel better quickly, continuing to pray for you.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be warm day here in central Indy with a high near 70 again. We will also be dealing with Thunder, Lighting, Hail, and Tornado's. Not Fun. Especially since the worst of it is supposed to hit between 2 and 8pm and that's when I have to go babysit. My niece's hate storms. They still freak both of them out. If the storms aren't to bad I also need to run to the grocery store since I didn't get there yesterday. My neighbor has been saying that he is really craving homemade lasagna and it sounds really good to me too. So I was going to make up a big batch and have him over for dinner tomorrow. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

made that is such a nice thing to do for your neighbor. gosh you're so sweet!!
It's overcast down here, too. I hope we get lots of rain!!

When I was younger, I used to think travellng the world sounded like a lot of fun. These days, however, I don't like being separated from my family even one night.
i agree bradmac. i don't like it 1 bit when he's gone. he just began traveling in the last 3-4 years. i am happy for him to see Germany & some of the other places he's gone/going, but China is not 1 of them. hubby & i neither 1 care to go there, no particular reason, just no desire to see that place. now that my boys are grown (19 & 22) i do feel much safer than i would have if they were younger, atleast 2 big bodyguards will be here to watch over daughter & i. lol
Hello to everyone! As the man on the radio says, "You've made it to Friday."

Just Friday here ... nothing to report. The snow and ice stopped, and we're supposed to get rain tomorrow and warmer temps next week, so it's gonna be sloppy around here for a while after everything melts and gets rained on! Because of the snowy scenery, I was listening to vintage Christmas/winter music on the way to work this morning.
oh my goodness, we have that same sloppy mess here, only it didn't come from snow... just rain. we are suppose to get some pretty bad storms over in the night & tomorrow i think.
It looks like "winter" is over for us. Did we even have winter here? It has been sunny and warm here. The weather man actually predicted us to have a mild summer this year. I HOPE! We will see about that.

I hope you all have a Merry Weekend! Wayne and I plan to have a good one!!!
i said the same thing, what winter? i will say it's nice seeing the trees w/ buds & daffodils blooming. hoping we have a mild summer too.
Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

I feel much better today! :point:

I have a busy weekend planned. The first weekend in March is always busy for my sign rental business. The local wildlife club has an annual festival in the middle of March, and all the local businesses want to advertise for the crowds that are coming. Invariably, they wait until this week to order their signs, and they all want it done NOW!!! lol I'll get it, but I also have to work at Bernie's all day tomorrow. I guess my Sunday afternoon is now booked. You'd think I'd be rich by now, with all this working going on!

I hope y'all have a great day!
you're busy, busy, busy= $ $ $ $ $ $ CHA-CHING$

wow, stay safe!!
Good afternoon everyone.... I am trying to make an effort to get back on here and post more. I have missed this place. Now that I have a small lull going on (no back to back holidays, no kids in sports activities yet) I am finding myself thinking more and more about the fall season, christmas and everything that goes with them. Back in the fall I was sooo busy with work, the kids with their school and their activities (football and cheerleading) that I barely had much time to think about and really enjoy the fall holidays. The next thing I know it was Christmas... still realing from the busy fall schedule again I still felt like I was missing out. It was the first time I had to deal with BOTH kids in school AND BOTH kids in a sports activity. I was ill prepared. So now that I know what to expect come Sept I plan to be better prepared, better at scheduling and time management so I can enjoy everything, at least I hope so.

Last night I packed up all my snowman suff and this weekend I will start decorating for Easter.

Well my lunch break is up..back to work.
Have a great day.
i remember those days, it wasn't too long ago for us life was like that. remember to try to say no sometimes when others ask things of you. hope things begin to wind down w/ some down time for you!

This is for a farewell party at the church my brother attends, one of their pastors is leaving. A packing crate filling up with some of their things to ship to the new house.
