Very glad to hear that you are safe. I'm sure it's terrible when you're getting the warnings and sirens and have your mind full of finding a safe place to ride it out if necessary. I heard on the radio that the NWS is now using stronger (more dramatic) language in their warnings because they're afraid that the public has gotten in the habit of ignoring warnings.
Those sirens are eerie, aren't they? We don't have a storm siren in Bellville (the closest one is in nearby Claxton), but the school my children attend is only a couple blocks away, and they recently installed a lightning detection system with a siren. A young boy was struck by lightning on a clear day during track practice. He survived, but it took quite a bit of rehab.

Anyway, when the storm clouds and winds gather, then that siren starts blaring, Bellville gets pretty creepy!

Glad CAH, SIT and everyone else in the area is ok!

I am so glad today is over. I actually bought myself something that was really kind of expensive. I NEVER do that but this is something I have wanted for 13 years. I found a decent price on Millennium Bride Barbie which was a limited edition back in 1999. She is wearing a gown with Swarovski crystals sewn all over it and she has a cathedral veil. She is so BEAUTIFUL !!

I am glad you were able to spoil yourself a little bit.

Out here in the western part of the state, I don't think we'll ever ignore those warnings again. cheesy

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Will there be an Easter theme tonight? I have a picture in my head of Carl with bunny ears, serving his newest brew in Easter-egg mugs ...

Yeah, be careful, I went early this morning to get my Twinkie, and it was filled with egg salad. BLEECCCCCHHHH! It may have been the nastiest thing I ever tried. Carl just laughed and said Happy Easter! cheesy

Good morning,

Today is my late day, I think I will ask them if I can work during the day on Wednesdays for the next month so I can help my wife take the boys to swim class. I don't know how they will respond to that at work. I am just taking time to relax before my shift by watching "The Real Story Of Christmas" the History Channel documentary I recorded during Christmas 2010, I love it since it now has the outdated Christmas commercials on it.

Did I miss "It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown?" I haven't seen anything about it on TV.

I hope you all have a good day.

Yesterday wore me out! My granddaughter got picked up early and I just wasn't feeling well. I just wanted to lay down but then I turned on the tv and was watching a tornado in action not too far from us. Then the sirens went off and on for a couple of hours. Not a good time to lay down so I was up preparing an area to take cover and gathered up my pets to that room. They were all upset. A lot of places around us was hit but it missed us. So far I have not heard of any serious injuries but a lot of damage! We get tornado warnings a lot and I usually can relax but I guess when you see it happening nearby and sirens going off, it's a whole different story!

I do need a day at The Pines!!!

I hope you all have a Merry Day!
we will make sure you get the good hammock, the one that was not converted into a bungee ride!
So glad you are all ok

So I claim one of the hammocks at the Pines tonight. QUOTE]
fortunately those two only got their hands on one hammock, so there is one for you as well!

Well, Carl's ready for us once again.
<< Ready, Crown? >>
Oh you know -- 'Pines Day!

Well as CAH said we made it through the severe weather and tornado outbreak yesterday. I was at work during all of that, they have a severe weather warning radio in the office, so they were staying on top of things. They have an air horn they use to warn us of anything happening, and of course they go over what to do and where to go. Since we are a logistics warehouse that has Domtar paper manufacturer (formerly Warehauser) as a client, if a tornado ever hit that place it would look like a ticker-tape parade with all of the paper flying around. I am sure the Canadians on here are familiar with Domtar, since it is based in Canada. Thank you to everyone for your concern and prayers, it is greatly appreciated.
I think I was at the one in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania when I was on a training run with the truck. There is a big plant in northern Ontario that I have driven past a few times.

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's a beautiful morning here in southeast Georgia, sunny with a high in the mid-80's. But it's supposed to be in the 60's on Friday!

Not a lot to report today. I have some work to do this afternoon, then I should be caught up for the long Easter weekend.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

.....Will there be an Easter theme tonight? I have a picture in my head of Carl with bunny ears, serving his newest brew in Easter-egg mugs ...

Glad you brought that up, Merry.

Yes, indeed.
As the final 'Pines open house before Easter, there will definitely be a seasonal theme.
Bunny ears on Carl is a given, of course.
Lots of spring flowers all over the resort.
Freebie Easter candy being handed out at the door.
Pastel tablecloths in Easter colors.
And.....
Yes....
A mystery coffee blend, somehow related to the season.
I'm sure Easter egg dye coloring will play a part but beyond that, Carl has kept quiet (for a change).

Anyway. sounds like another one not to miss!

So, went to see my doctor this morning and I was right about my hand. Now I have an appointment with a plastic surgeon who will do the surgery. I have dupuytrens contracture http://eatonhand.com/hw/hw009.htm
So far mine is only effecting my pinkie on my right hand.
My mom, uncle and brother have all had surgery for this as well. Mom waited to long for hers so they could not straighten out her two fingers but my brothers is fine. My finger is just starting to get crocked so hopefully it will be fine after surgery.

I have tried to submit two messages and get routed to the home page. So, two messages are somewhere in Christmas Countdownland.

So my sister has been home 13 hours and has already called to see if I could come watch the kids. What happened to my day of rest.

You're saying that when you try to reply to someone else's post, it doesn't show up? But you can post if you're not replying?

anyhoo, nothing much going on this afternoonT. i cut my nephew's hair then my son's hair. folded some clothes, same ole same ole.
went to pack my daddy up after work but oh no, he was NOT having that. he said, "i can pack my own stuff. i know what to take." ok daddy, i'm just going by what mama said for me to do. "!#%@&", he said, "i can do it myself!" well to that all i could say was..."ok, don't forget your church clothes & light weight jacket." my daddy is a hoot! he's 80 but gets around & is as active as a 55 year old. i know alot of people say that, but it's really true w/ him. he says if it wasn't for his back (disc issues) he'd still run circles around me! I do not doubt it either!
