good a.m. My MC peeps!:merry:

how's it going? about to get ready for work in a bit. i missed y'all last night so i had to get all caught up this morning before i posted.
i've been trying to sort out all the stuff in my head, & man is that a job?? everything that needs to be done before we leave tomorrow. i think my biggest concern is my animals. i know my son will take care of them, that's not it, but he's a MAJOR gamer & he loses track of time very easily. he also sleeps later than we do so i don't want my pups to have to "hold it" too long, ya' know? i've told him he's gotta sleep in our room because that's where all the pups sleep; their pin, the loveseat, the bed, etc. atleast if he's in there he will hear them. his room is on the opposite side of the house & that just won't do. my oldest son really has nothing to do w/ the animals. he'll let them out if we ask but.... guess i'll be calling home alot to check on things.

well y'all have a wonderful day, TGIF!!!! wooooooohooooooooo!
love, hugs, & smiles!

Have a wonderful time, merry!!

Last day of school for my 1st grader today. Hard to believe she will be going into 2nd in a few months. The old cliche "they grow up way too fast" is certainly true.

Brad, how did you get the link to the pound cake recipe red?
After I created the link, I highlighted it again and clicked the U button at the top of the text box, then I changed the font color. It's a little extra work, but, since I'm colorblind, it's hard for me to see the slight color change between normal text and a link.

Happy Milestone Day!!!

It is ABSOLUTELY true.

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

I worked on my side business till 8:30 last night. I finally had supper, and just as I was settling down to relax, my boss called. He'd been out golfing, and realized he was locked out of the office...where he left his car keys. I had to come back to work to let him in the office at 9:30 last night. After a shower and PJs, I finally sat down at 10:30. *yawn*

At least it's FRIDAY!! Mom's back from the mountains, so I'll have lunch with her and my kids today.

I hope y'all have a great day! Don't forget: breakfast at Bernie's in the morning! cheesy

Thanks bradmac. when i seen the photo i knew the cake. we call maderia cake. and your right it is nice warm. i have save d that site to as ther is other receipes on it to thanks again

So that's "madeira"! As in "Have Some Madeira, M'Dear"---Michael Flanders says, "My little nephew thinks it's about cake ..." but the song is actually about an innocent girl getting drunk on Madeira wine. That confused me for many years.

So good to see so many members "returning to the roost"! Every day I see a name or two that has been absent for a while.

Mr.'s overtime work didn't come in until after 12:30 last night ... he didn't get home until after 2:30. And he has to be back at his office by 10:15 this morning. I already said it last night, but: It just isn't fair. I hope he gets home at a decent hour tonight so we can at least have some dinner together before bedtime. We've had no time together this week (well, not when we're awake at the same time!), and he hasn't been able to get to bed before 1 a.m. all week. I worry about whether the schedule he has to keep---between work and helping to care for his father---will affect his health. There's very little I can do except be there when he can be at home. I hope the vacation will help, and that nothing will intervene to prevent it.

Just trying to keep this in mind: the sun setting over Mauna Kea ...

Thanks, CS- I think I did =]

I used to buy him lots of fun things, for fishing, boating or golf, etc. But, about 5 years ago, he said that he had everything he could ever want- now it's about what he needs. And he said he needed some dress shirts for summer, so I went & bought some short sleeved ones in summer colors. With gift receipts! In case they don't fit, or he wants different colors, he can exchange them.
great!
My mom is also now telling everyone that she has everything she needs too. She enjoys going out for lunch and tea with friends so we now get her what she can use too...gift cards for her favorite coffee shop and restaurant.

It's just not fair ... the first evening this week that Mr. was going to be able to spend at home, and he has to work late. There's a good chance he won't get home until after my bedtime. I've only been able to see him for a few minutes in the morning before I leave for work. Rotten luck. :-(

Cross your fingers that we'll be able to go on our vacation ... then I'll have him 24/7 for a few days!

something wonderful to look forward to!
you will have so much fun

Good evening, Christmas family !

It is almost the weekend, and I am SO READY ! I am wathing The Big Bang Theory which I taped earlier this evening and Hermione is curled up next to me, in fact if she could curl up any closer, she would be in my skin ! Wishbone is asleep on the couch under his blanket and Clancy is at the other end of the couch also asleep. Of course the two felines are doing their kitty prowling looking for stuff that is fun to get into !

You are all going to think this is SO STUPID ! I have been playing Lego Harry Potter on "my" iPod and I LOVE IT. It is so addicting. I just got the second part. The first part is years 1-4 and the second part is 5-7. I am already on the second part of Chapter 7. I guess I will never grow up.

MerryCarey - So glad you are back with us !

Meceka - I love that punch bowl. That is so neat !

I missed Elf tonight dangit !

I guess I will go. I wish everyone happy Christmassy dreams xo

I agree, it is good to see so many returning members! I'm sorry Mr. is having such a time at work - I hope things will settle down and you get to see him (and not just in passing) and that nothing prevents your vacation from happening. Such a beautiful picture - viewing that in person has to be such a stress-reliever! Have a good day, and weekend, too, Merry!

great!

My dad really liked getting gift cards, too, especially the ones for the gas station he frequented the most.

Penny is one smart cat!

I am working at home today due to the Bavarian Festival happening in Muth. I am avoiding the crowds and have put off going to the store until Monday/Tuesday. I am taking care of the "busy work" that has piled up in such a quick time. It seems I never get to enjoy a clear desk for very long. There are a lot of distractions, though. Palmer is running about playing and Phantom of the Opera (Gerard Butler, sigh) is on (free HBO this weekend!) - I'm just listening to the music, but every now and then I want to get up and dance and sing. Good thing there aren't cameras/microphones that link us to the site

I have to go and do that wonderful task we all love and adore....paying bills!
After that I am going to work, then handing out more resumes in an attemp to find some better work with more hours.

Divvie up the hours, send us the phone numbers and we'll be his wake up calls. And no back talk or mumbling if we wake him up. Especially if I call from the west coast!!!

The Lear jet's fueled up and ready to go. Carl called and wants to know how many of you would like for me to lower a hammock and let you jump in and have a hydraulic lift you up, just for grins?
