got the air conditioner in upstairs. The only window it fits in is the bathroom, so if anyone wants to enjoy it they have to leave all the doors open. Going to put curtains up for privacy, so the air can still get in. Those spring loaded curtain rods are great!
The 14 day weather tracker says it is going to stay between 25c and +30c so want to make it more comfortable for sleeping.

I didn't watch the match but I saw the stat's this morning and I'd have to agree with you.

I'm not a huge fan of Pocono either but I'll have it on in the background while I'm working around the apartment. Maybe the new pavement will help it be more entertaining.

Pocono was the first NASCAR race I ever went to. It's even worse in person, you can't see a darn thing! I was sitting just a little past the start/finish line toward the first turn, and there was a wreck in turn 1 and with binoculars I couldn't tell who was in it. You watch them zoom by and wait about a minute to watch them zoom by again.

On another subject, Sheila and I were out in a clothing store today and they were playing Lena Horne's version of "Let It Snow"! Then right after that they played some pop junk. Here we were in a store in June and hearing Let It Snow, pretty cool!:playing:

MerryCarey, I searched to see if I could get Dandelion Wine for my Nook, but could not. I did, however, order Summer Morning, Summer Night, a sequel to Dandelion Wine. Also, I suggest reading Halloween Tree and Something Wicked This Way Comes. I think both have been made into movies. I love his writing, but for some reason never did like The Illustrated Man. If I am not mistaken, he also wrote a short story that might be in a collection. The story, "All Summer in a Day," can bring a tear to your eyes.

Mr. Bradbury would not allow his books to be published digitally, so they're not available on Kindle OR Nook. Disappointing, 'cause I'd love to have Dandelion Wine on my Kindle. I've read some of his other books and stories, but not in a while. I've got a big anthology of his stories that I never finished because the book was too big to comfortably read in bed!

Something Wicked This Way Comes is a good film---I preferred it to the book, actually.

I am winding down now. I need to get ready for chemo tomorrow. New stuff. We will spend the night with friends so I can get the Neulasta shot on Tuesday morning (It has to be done within 24 hours of chemo), and then we are driving to Yreka for a meeting. Lots of rest in my future! Have a great rest-of-the-evening, everyone.

I have even more books to add to my TBR pile - I think I actually have the paperback to Something Wicked This Way Comes in my "library" :)

I love the movie - so atmospheric and Jason Robards, too. I really must read the book, though!

I hope all goes well with your new stuff - take care, Seawaters! {{{HUGS}}}

Good evening, MMC!

I tried to nap, but Palmer had other ideas, the little stinker! She is running around, causing mischief, but nothing serious - been at it for most of the day. I really thought cats slept more, especially in the heat and humidity. I put in a few hours on store business, that is really never ending. If I was paid an hourly wage, I'd have it made! I am going to relax the rest of the evening as it is still very humid.

Have a MERRY evening!!!

:merry:

I don't know what it is about The Wizard of Oz that makes me feel Christmassy.....guess that it just takes me back to my childhood....why do I love this movie so?

I feel the same way, Coach.
Nostalgia at its best.

Waaaay back when, it used to be televised (there's an outdated word!) around Christmas, I think, since it was such a special event. I don't go back that far, but I can remember when it was on TV only once a year. A big event in my childhood calendar, even though we had a B&W set!

It's the same way here at IMS. The only good thing about our seats was we were right across from pit road. So you got to see the cars do their pit stops. We all decided that it wasn't worth the $95 dollars a ticket though so my cousin didn't renew our 12 seats this year.
