Well, It was a great evening, got home from work, had to do a few errands (getting ready for a party tomorrow) and then came home a chilled for the rest of the evening. I watched the Polar Express and also Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets!
I won't be here tomorrow, have to party all day; Yea, I know, priorities, priorities....But, a Dad has to do what a Dad has to do!
No seriously, We are going to have that graduation party for my daughter tomorrow and it sounds like it's going to be the hottest day of the year...
Well, we have the 30 foot pool, giant slide (remember this?)
and pool and plenty of food and cold drinks... Hopefully, it will be a nice day, even with the heat! So, I'll see you all on Sunday!~ Maybe I'll let Carl borrow the slide for the Pines next Wednesday.......
Sounds fabulous!! Hope you're having lots of fun! I bet your daughter really appreciates all you guys do. Congrats to her again! And yes, please bring the slide to The Pines on Wednesday!!!!!! =)
Thank you, snowflake! I still haven't seen any of them, but it was so hot yesterday that the other cats stayed in hiding, too. I'll look later this morning when I feed them. My goodness, that is going to be hot! Is there humidity with the heat? Stay cool and hydrated!

We mostly have a dry heat, but there is some humidity right now w/it being the monsoon season. Our weather will be like this through the end of August, unfortunately. It's our time to hibernate, lol. Stay cool, friend!!

Seriously contemplating building an ark. I'm sitting in sweatpants and a hoodie with fleecy socks and just can't get warm. Had 5 weddings today and 2 were supposed to be outside. Unfortunately (for them, not for me!) the rain was horizontal so they were pulled indoors - one was at a castle
and the other was at an observatory
As you can see, anywhere at the castle is open to the elements and at the observatory, the railed bit to the left is where it was supposed to be. We ended up in the domed bit!!!

We are just getting ready to start dinner. God bless Adrian, he's going to brave the heat & put some pork tenderloins on the grill. I'm going to make some au gratin potatoes & green beans.
Today, I watched Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot Christmas [movie]. I just love David Suchet! His character is so brilliant & funny at the same time! And now I'm going to put in The Family Stone- one of my favorites. Such a beautiful Christmas house!

Harlowe is laying at my feet, patiently awaiting it to cool down enough to go for a walk. Poor thing gets kind of sad this time of year, she loves sitting out on the patio, and it hasn't even been pleasant at night lately.

UGH..Another day of the outside being a furnace.........Yesterday by the time evening came our air was not keeping up well. It was set really, really low but still got to 76 in the house.........I am wondering if covering the living room window with that window film would help keep the heat out...??
Nothing big going on today. Just going to try and stay cool. I may take my furkids outside here in a minute just to let the big ones use the potty and let Wish get just a moment of fresh air.....I hear that hawk cawing so you can bet I will be hovering closer than breath to Wish and I think I will take something with me just in case the hawk gets brave so that I can let it know who is boss....I LOVE all animals and hawks are majestic creatures.....They are just doing what instinct tells them and I know that...they are not evil.....But I am going to do what instinct tell me to do too....and that is protect my baby......
I was wondering about something.... I would like to reply to more posts individually like you Made and others but I am wondering if I am missing a way to do that..........I see there is "reply" or "quick reply"...The thing I don't like about "reply" is that it always takes me to a new page or the end of the posts for the thread then I have to hit the back button to get to where I was.....is there an easier way ??

wooweee what a day!! glad the cook out is done & over. it is so hot, as you all know, & some were inside & some outside. a little hard to entertain all of them.
my mama & i did sit in the living room & discussed where our tree is gonna go this year. i felt 20 degrees cooler just talking about it. hubby bought it after Christmas last year & it's a good bit larger than the 1 we had. mainly the girth?spelling? is bigger. anyhoo...i'll figure something out.
my aunt Carolyn came over. she's such a hoot. this lady finds the best in everything & everyone. always positive & has us in stitches w/ some of her jokes & antics. her & my brother started doing the "funky chicken" @ 1 point. HILARIOUS. my brother had the benefits of alcohol but not my aunt Carolyn-she doesn't touch the stuff. she just finds the laughter in every moment. we were listening to beach music & that's what they were dancing too. she's around 75 & not in the best health & even on her bad days she's wanting to do for someone else. if you ask her how she's doing a common reply would be alive & blessed. she's precious.
oh how i love sundays. that's my favorite day of the week. no rush, no errands, no nothing, just peace, quiet, & family. aaahh!

If it makes you feel any better, I just thought of a mama cat around here that had a litter of kittens last year (before we got them fixed) that were under my house. Suddenly one day my neighbor and I couldn't find any of them. They were missing for over a week. She had moved them 2 houses down and they were just fine. Maybe they are close by but just hidden. I hope you find them soon!
That was fun! Need to do that again. Hmm... What movie can you post next?

I have a big window in the kitchen that is in the sun from 11am until it sets, I have a black fleece blanket that I hang over one of those spring loaded curtain rods that fits nicely into the window frame. It is amazing how much heat that keeps out. The blinds fit in front of it to hide the blanket.
A nice big quilt would do the same thing and you would only need to keep it up until the sun is off the window.
169 days til Christmas.....it just stopped raining and the sun came out....maybe we will go to a public pool again....a regular one tho....holla

Another day staying home because of the heat. I have to keep changing the outdoor fur kids water as their bowls are heating up so fast the water is undrinkable. Poor babies! I have several cats and kittens missing. I hope they are just hiding out in a cool spot - that is usually what they do during days like these.

Been a few days since i posted was reading over the posts. and you guys seem to be getting a lot of heat. We on the other hand are getting rain.

Have been really busy this lasy week seems i just cant keep the shop stocked enough any more.. i no its not a bad complain. but its hard work and yes you could say get help. and i have but the stuff i get in all needs checked and items built and that take time to show a new person how to do it and its always changing .
A lot of you are taking christmas. and why not .. the christmas in july thing brings it nearer . i have been checking our sky channels for christmas films and so far can see nothing ..
Was out last night and going and going to a bbq this afternoon and now am gonna get dressed and go and get a big fry in my friends coffee shop mmmm

Snow-in-Texas and I never made it out to the Christmas store yesterday. We had so many errands to run in the morning and that store is almost an hour drive away so we decided to wait until we can get an earlier start next weekend, hopefully.
We went ahead and took a stroll around the mall. All I could think of is the places the Christmas trees are set up at and the spot where Santa usually sits was full of plants. It's funny how we both visualized Christmas walking around it. This mall only decorates with live Christmas trees throughout, it's beautiful. You will not see any artificial trees at all. We went to lunch afterward.
I was sound asleep before 9:00 last night and got up at 5:00 am this morning.
I am drinking some coffee now and ready to start my day.
