Good afternoon, Christmasstar! What book did you read? I finished The Forgotten Garden - it was really good! Have a restful afternoon and good afternoon/evening at work!
Radical by David Platt

Thanks, I enjoy work, just not the aches and pains I get from it!! LOL

Best wishes to our Brad.
(From Carl, too!)

Thinking of you. Take good care of yourself!

Good evenng, Christmas family. The end of another weekend. Kind of sad. Not much going on here. The furkids and me are watching back to back episodes of Undecover Boss.....Kind of interesting where CEO's go undercover in their own companies and get a firsthand look at conditions, what the work is like, etc.

Had a REALLY scary experience this afternoon when I took the furkids out. Clancy and Hermione went galloping off to do their thing and I of course stayed with Wishbone. Within a few seconds of getting out in the yard with Wish a HUGE hawk started circling right over my head. I was standing stradling Wish so the hawk had no chance of getting to him. I was just kind of shocked that the stupid thing was being so aggressive. I know if I had not been out there it definitely would have dove and tried to get him.....Actually come to think of it, I didn't get scared, I got MAD. I stood straight up and dared the thing to come any closer. I respect animals of all kinds and hawks are among some of the most beautiful birds ever but not when they threaten one of my own. It circled over my head the whole time I was outside with Wish. I eventually picked him up in my arms and brought him in the house....

I have heard reports that hawks both WILL and WILL NOT attack small dogs. Well, I have news, this one def would HAVE.

Xmas - I hope your back and neck are better !!! xo

Bradmac and Seawaters - Praying that you are both feeling better xo

Went to Hobby Lobby yesterday !!!! They are really getting there as far as Christmas stuff !! No trees yet though........xo Soon though I think !!

Take care everyone and SPECIAL ((((HUGS)))) For:

Ella, Harlowe, Snowball, Gomez, Ophelia, Sidney, Alex, Merlin, Snickers, Victor, Daisy, Diva, Palmer, Mouse, Bo, Chico, Meca, Alvin, Missy, Scooby, Sasha, Jacob, Cracker, Bunny B, Penny, Pocket, LuLu, Bear-Bear, Stripey, Holly and all furkids everywhere xoxoo

It's that time of year! Starting to select and assemble clips for this year's Christmas DVD! Still thinking about outdoor decorations, too. We don't have a ladder to decorate the roofline (and frankly, I wouldn't want either of us to go up a ladder to try), so I'm trying to think of other solutions. As I mentioned, maybe a pair of outdoor pre-lit trees in front of the house. I've also been wondering how icicle lights might look draped over the top of a hedge instead of hanging from the eaves ... do you think they'd sparkle through in case snow fell over them? Any other outdoor decorating ideas that don't require a ladder, for someone who isn't very handy with tools and hardware?

There are a lot of hawks in the area I live in, but usually when I see them they are circling way up in the sky. If they get to a certain point that I think is unsafe for the cats, I yell at them and they usually fly on. I think they might be used to me by now. As far as I know, none of the fur kids have been taken by hawk, but like you, I don't take any chances. {{{HUGS}}} for you, Wish, Clancy, Smokey, Hermione and Lily!

A pair of outdoor pre-lit trees in front of the house sounds perfect ~ simple and classic.

I have some news from Bradmac that some of you already know and thanks to Caninemom for being observant that brought it to our attention.

I have stayed in touch with him and with his permission he said I could post because he said he could use a few more prayers.

Bradmac had a heart attack on Wednesday. Here is the message he sent me:

Whew! Yes, I had a heart attack Wednesday morning at work. But the local hospital did a great job of stabilizing me for the trip to a Savannah hospital. They put a stint in, and I feel much better. I'll be taking it easy for a week or so.

I'll be back later. Thanks for the concern!

He seems to be in good spirits and currently watching lots of Star Trek! He is also watching what he eats too! Instead of the typical breakfast at the store, it's egg beaters and decaf coffee! =)

thank you so much cah for keeping us in the loop w/ bradmad!

OUCH!!!

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts. I've always heard that heart attacks were painful, but I had no real idea until Wednesday morning. I was just reading my email and drinking my coffee, then BAM!

I had a blocked artery, but they put in a stint and said I should be ok in time.

Thank the Lord for allowing me to stay with my family a while longer. That's all I could think about.

I'll be back later. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

oh bless you brad! this had to be a very scary thing. i cannot imagine! you & nancy & your little one will be in my prayers for a full & speedy recovery.

Good morning, (for a few more minutes anyway)

I think I am falling apart, I woke up with another stiff neck this morning, to go with the pain in my back, I am guessing I need a new pillow at this point so hopefully that will fix this. Getting ready for a small get together with my in laws for a BBQ, my mother in law's mother passed away Thursday night, so we are going to spend time with them before they head up to Quebec.

Have a good day!

i'm sorry for the loss of your wife's grandmother.

Good afternoon....It's Sunday Funday! And I have the after-Christmas blues! Our CIJ party was so much fun! We had 32 participants in the white elephant exchange...what a riot! The hot items were wine (3 bottles - all seperate gifts), a "tiffany" lamp, homemade jalapeno pickles & peach salsa (I put in) & a ceramic fish that shows up every year. Those things went round & round. I think everybody had a good time! Lots of "good" gifts. Too funny! And our Christmas dinner was delicious!

I figured coming here would help lift my spirits. I am still at the lake, getting ready to put Christmas With The Kranks in the dvd player!

holiday your CIJ celebration sounds fabulous. so happy to hear y'all had such a good time!

good evening y'all! i think i'm in shock over bradmac's illness. wow, he's so active & so young!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i need to appreciate every day more as a gift. think i'm gonna reevaluate myself a bit after that news.........

I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not for you, but one idea to look at (if you can) is to hire a handyman to put your christmas lights up at the roof line. There are alot of handy, reliable contractors (1 or 2 men) that are looking for work around that time of year. I have been reading about that it is one of the latest trends that contractors are doing in the cold winter months when there is not much outdoor construction going on. (just an fyi/ idea for you)

Ballcoach coming to your from the hotel....I just indulged myself and ordered a little room service. Nothing too fancy, but just a little snack to enjoy myself (shhh...don't tell my wife). Unfortunately, is was awful, but hey....it was nice to feel "big time".

Watching the Olympics....really getting excited! This has been a fun day. Won't get to watch much tomorrow or Tuesday, but I will get to see what happens Wednesday night.

About to keep reading the board, but lay in bed. Yall have a good night.

Hey all...just stopping in and I was so sorry to see that bradmac had a scare- feel better, friend! Thank goodness you received such good care! We want to see you around here for a good long time and feeling well.
To my other Christmas friends- may your troubles be light and your joys many as I say goodnight!
Blessings to all of you!

wow, what a busy night at work, especially since I was by myself since 8pm until we closed at 10 pm . Did manage to finish off all the work, not sure if I did the paper work right, but it is done!
Feels good to work hard.

Going to relax for awhile and then go to bed.

Good Morning, Fresh New Week Friends.
(Wait. That didn't sound quite right.)

Oh, well.
THIS sounds good:
Days to the Season: 106
Days to Christmas Day: 148
Under a week now until the 100-day Season Window opens on the beautiful landscape that is the double-digit count.
(Can't wait!)

Not too bad here weather-wise yesterday.
The temp was a bit lower as was the humidity. Had about an inch of rain the preceeding night but the day was dry.
We show 73 degrees here, currently.

OK.
May a Marvelous Monday be yours for the asking today!
