I had the peanut butter and bananna on toast this morning for breakfast. I don't do bacon though.

Your killing me (my stomach is growling)...Will UPS do an express delivery, like right now, say to my desk....?

Thanks for the reminder! It's the Anniversary of Elvis passing and today on AMC is a marathon of his corny movies! But I like them! =)

They are kind of corny, but any movie that makes me want to get up and sing and dance has to be good in my book! On a side note, my Aunt Tillie loved Elvis Presley and passed her love of his movies on to me. If she was still alive I would NEVER refer to Elvis (Costello) on a first name basis (as fellow Greasy Skillet chatters know I do) for fear of being disowned

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's going to be a warm day here with a high of 92 here today. It also looks like we will get two rounds of storms today. The first around 3 and the second around 8. I was really hoping that I would be headed to the lottery office today to turn in my winning powerball ticket for $350 million but I only managed to get 1 number. The winning ticket was sold up around Meceka though, so maybe she has something to tell us.

I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Darn! I was all excited because I thought I won the lottery ~ then I remembered I would have actually had to buy a ticket

You all are going to drag me to the doc?! Wayne is already doing that. I am going tomorrow for some lab work.

I might tell him to hold off so I can have an excuse for you all to visit and put me in the jet. Let's see, take a jet about 4 miles away from my home. Should be interesting!

I will be okay but thank you for the concern! I am just going to hook up an IV to the Keurig machine and press the "brew" button all day!!!

I'm so glad you are finally going to see a doctor ~ I pray they figure out what is making you so fatigued and it is a simple fix!

Good afternoon MMC!!! I finally got all caught up with your posts since Tuesday afternoon - you bunch of gabby people!!!

It's supposed to get chilly here this weekend. Love of 51 tomorrow, some stations saying it could dip down into the 40's!!! Not ready for that yet!!!! But a big bonfire sounds darn nice!

You all have a great day!!!

I read it could get down in the 40s here, too. A bonfire does sound nice. I hope you have a MERRY day!

I was thinking the same thing! Meceka must've won the lottery!

I wish ~ there are so many people I could help with that kind of money!

A little bad news on my part. My position ends tomorrow. Again, I will be jobless. My job search didn't stop when I received this position - as I knew it would only last for five or six weeks - however, I haven't heard a whole lot on that front. I've said it many times - it would be nice to finially have a consistent career position, but apparently I have very little going for me right now. The teaching market is saturated, I'm not bilingual - which eliminates about 90 percent of the government positions - and my teaching degree makes employers very uneasy to hire me... since they think I will leave at the first chance of a teaching opportunity. I have bills to pay!

A couple of ideas: learn a foreign language (you can learn online in your spare time ~ one of my younger cousins is teaching herself to speak Japanese via some website I forget the name of) ~ it might take a few years for you to be considered bilingual, but it will open up the job market ; register with a temping agency; sign-up to be a substitute teacher ~ keeps your foot in the door should a position you are qualified for opens up, esp. if you do a great job. Good luck!

Yummy! I'll take a carrot muffin with cream cheese frosting, please!

I'm getting ready to head out and test drive a new truck right now. One that I have been watching on the internet for a couple of months. It has a couple of options I want that are not standard and the price is decent. I know what I am willing to pay and it is way below their price so I'm 99% sure they will not accept my first offer but I'm just laying the groundwork right now. I know the salesman is motivated so hopefully after several back and forth phone calls and emails with lots of haggling, I'll get it. If not, no big loss. Wish me luck.

Greetings, Christmasstar!
ummm, I know I have not been on much lately, but can someone explain why I am suddenly getting this message?

Good afternoon everyone!

I attemped to post yesterday, but I don't think I was able to. All these days are blending together! The weather here is real nice. The sun is out and it's not too hot. And, we're now more than halfway through August. Temperatures are certainly calming down a little here in Ottawa.

Thanks to Crown for unveiling the next milestone! Only nine days away!! Everything is coming up so quickly! Before we know it, we will only be four months away from Christmas! And, in less than a month, we'll start seeing signs of Christmas pop-up in various places. These times, they are exciting!

Lunch is nearly over, so I should return to "work." Have a great Thursday, everyone! The work week doesn't have much left in it. Friday is fast approaching
Best wishes on finding a good job soon, Brent!

hope all is well and yes I would have helped with the "medical" run!
Any excuse for a visit is fine with me!!
Wayne, THANK YOU! And if Seawaters sends the Learjet around, we'll all come out to make sure you get there! Pls keep us posted.
Let's all of us MMC gals get together in the jet and all go get her !!! xoxo

Forget the doctor. Let's have a party! That's a cure all!!! :celebrate:

Good luck! I hate car shopping.

Yes, corny is a good thing! Elvis mentioned how he got annoyed doing all those movies. He wanted to do serious roles and not the singing stuff. He don't realize that some of us like his singing movies!

I love corny Christmas movies too! They are the best!
