One of my neighbors always has pumpkins growing in the front yard. I think the house is now 2 apartments and no one appears to pick these pumpkins. Just checked it out and one is rotting! SO sad... I wish I could pick those adorable orange guys!

would anyone object to you picking them since they're just gonna rot anyway?

HAPPY SEPTEMBER! I am so glad that August is over with. It is one of my least favorite months of the year. Now come on, stores, get your Christmas decorations out!!

I've been so busy with school (and it was only my first week!) that I've barely had time to sign on, let alone read the countdown. I have some major catching up to do.

All is well here! I accidentally bit my tongue when I was chewing gum the other day, though, and I can't eat anything without being in a ton of pain. Just my luck!

august & january are both my least favorite months of the year.

no my marshmallows did not set up, had to dump the batch. Now I know that jello will not work!
Will do a fresh batch either tonight when I get home or early tomorrow morning.

We hit paydirt on the tag sale romp, I bought a collectible fabric mache Santa Claus for $5 and a another little snowman thing. I was psyched!!! Just relaxing a bit now before I make calzones for dinner.

Thank you! I believe they make special crochet hooks for people who can't grip regular hooks ... I know they make a little egg-shaped dingus that you can put around the shaft of the hook to make it easier to grasp. So I wouldn't count you out yet!

She is great, Goes for her last set of shots on the 15th, then I can finally take her for walks beyond the yard! We picked her up a Nylabone yesterday from Bosleys & She went nuts for it!! Hopefully that will help her from chewing everything else in site hahaha:lol:

Before I try to finish reading all the posts from yesterday and today, I need to rant (delete if this is TMI). I had to be absent two half-days this week (Wednesday in the afternoon and Thursday in the morning). My kids misbehaved and I asked the principal to come in and talk to them. She was at my door on Friday morning to meet with me and told me that I was the reason for the students' misbehavior, that I had been absent too much, and that this was a problem!!! I guess that I am not allowed to get the same benefits from our contract as the other teachers! I guess that I cannot be sick or absent, even though per our contract, we get 10 sick days a year! Rant over. TTYL

Yesterday in my classroom, it was quite warm and stuffy all day. Hubby and I decided to go to Taco Bell for dinner. When we went out to the car, the weather had changed dramatically to a wonderfully cool fall day! There was a cool gentle breeze that really made me happy. I even had to use a cover last night! (In Southernese, that means blanket.) It was wonderfully cool today, too! The sad thing is that it's supposed to get back into the high 90s and THEN maybe cool down again. Totally loved the change!
