Hello World!!!!!!!!

I think (think being the operative term here) that the worst may be over and life will start to return slightly to normal now. This summer has been unreal for work. This is the first weekend I've had off in what seems like forever! We are still missing staff members and I'm still getting home about 7pm after trying to catch up on stuff for which there just isn't enough time in the day to do but wedding season is slowing down now and will only peak again briefly at Christmas before settling down again until Easter when we get to do it all again...........yay!!!!!!!

So, let me bring you up to speed with what's been happening. Bruce finishes his Disneyland Paris contract on Sept 21st. He was offered a full time job but said no as he wants to finish his degree. That said, he's planning on returning at Christmas to work for a couple of weeks. Can't say I'm hugely thrilled at the prospect. He's suggested that we go over and spend Christmas there so I started investigating. From what I've seen, it's going to cost at least £2000 ($3200 approx.) for 4 nights!!!!!!!!!!!! This includes transport but not the kennelling of the hounds because obviously we can't take them with us. So............not going to happen.

Our local amateur dramatic group is putting on The Wizard of Oz at Christmas and I'm stage managing it so that should be fun. Rehearsals have started and I'm trying to persuade them to let Dorothy wear plaid instead of a plain old boring blue pinafore dress!!!!! It can be blue plaid if they're fussy!!!!

Other than that, I'm getting over a bad cold (not as bad, obviously, as Sandy's Man Flu which he had at the same time!) and am barking worse than the dogs. Talking of whom, are both fine. Jacob took a chunk out of one of his front pads so was looking resplendent in an old sock held on with electrical tape until it healed. Didn't help his street cred. one bit!!!!

And I think that's it. I should be around now if anybody wants me!!!

glad things are gettin better for You again, Mo.....too bad You cant take the dogs to disneyland...woulda been nice to spend the days there with Bruce....the 2000pounds aint no joke either

Good Morning, Part II'ers.
(That's Weekend Part II'ers, of course.)

What else is parting?
The rest of our count, which is rapidly dwindling down into a bedpost:
Days to the Season: 65
Days to Christmas Day: 107
And ONE WEEK from TODAY -- the 100-day Window opens on our Christmas Day 2012 count!
Can it really be that close?
Our handy-dandy post #1 chart does not lie.
(It's never acceptable to lie about Christmas!)

Wow!
What a hard rain we had early yesterday evening. Hardest rain I've had to drive through in a long time.
(Wouldn't you know the worst of it was when we were leaving the restaurant.)
HOWEVER. Now the weather service says we are in for a string of nice days with lower temps and much lower humidity.
I am ready!

You have a Super Sunday, Friends.
And may part II of your Weekend top part I!

Other than that, I'm getting over a bad cold (not as bad, obviously, as Sandy's Man Flu which he had at the same time!) and am barking worse than the dogs.

I hope both of you feel better soon, Maureen!!!

Good Sunday morning everyone! I think I will stay home and cook the lunch for us today. We are having roast and mashed potato and peas and rolls. brandi will take Jordan to church I am sure. I went to the grocery this morning and it was 71F which might not mean much to yall but the humidity was gone and it felt 20F cooler!! so it's a hint of fall. we sometimes get hints of fall in Sept...meaning lows in the lower 60's..and highs in the 80's with no humidity. But october is when we start getting in the 50's. Anyhow I am starting to perk up and get so excited about the Holidays...Sadly I can't believe it's been 11 years since 9/11...it's even going to be on a tuesaday this year just like in 2001. It's just wierd how times change,I rarely think about it anyore...vs that first year after i thought about it to the point of obseession...I hope everyone is doing great i really have missed this place over the summer but I feel I will be around once the weather switches back to the season.! have a great second half of the weekend!

Good night all!

Dude I am so glad you published this. It has reminded me I have to upgreade my Dish network package again... since me and brandi both got new cars and are having kids,,we had to start budgeting and cutting back...we have the basic now and even don't have AMC channel which playes halloween movies the month of October. brandi just told me that AMC channel is not even a choice anymore since they broke the contract so now we can't get that channel..I am just glad we at least have the Hallmark channel for Xmas!!! thanks for posting this!

Good morning! Coffee, fall weather, and NFL football....small piece of Heaven on Earth.

Been a long few days here with ballgame duty....sorry I haven't checked in....I was here Friday, Saturday but was trying to get all caught up. Finally, I have.

Binger, congrats on the MOM award. Well-deserved.

Last night, we went to my BIL house to eat and watch the race and some football. Good times, but today I'm super excited about the "real" start of the NFL season.

I'm starting to think about the things that I need to do for Christmas prep. Anybody else doing this?

I will be lurking on and off today, watching some football and doing a little work. See you around!

I think I need a nap. The race went to late last night and my niece's got up to early this morning. Can someone come babysit for me?

For the past two days, the Google page featured Star Trek in its logo. You could click on certain portions and music and futuristic sounds would play and the characters would be in an animated scene. Since Bradmac is such a Trekkie, I knew he would love it. Not sure if he saw it or not. It is funny that the logo was animated for me but not my husband. For some reason, his computer just redirected him to a page featuring links to Star Trek (our computers are side by side).

Hm.. What have I missed? Haha...

WOW, what a summer you have had!!! You definitely need to rest! What is Bruce's major at school? I remember when he went to work for Disney, but I forgot what his position was. Maybe you should take a poll here on MMC and let your dramatic group know the results. I, for one, vote for Dorothy to wear plaid, and not just any old blue plaid, but Maureen plaid!!! Take care of yourself with that cold. There are some bad illnesses going around this year! I almost spit out my coffee about the comment about Jacob's street creds. I laughed so hard that Hubby wanted to know what was going on!

Speaking of Bruce, I remember the time when you posted about his returning from a trip (I think) and brought you a gift, but he had brought another woman a nicer gift. I remember how riled up I got until I found out "the rest of the story." It would be fun to see that post again!
