Take care. I wish there were something we could do. I hear you about insurance. Mine is $1,653.00 a month. That is a BIG chunk of change coming out of my paycheck. Deductions from my paycheck are more than my take-home pay! I know I grumble about insurance, but I only have a $10 co-pay for office visits; and each prescription is only $5.00. Everything else is 100% paid by insurance.

Thank you, snowflake! We are staying with our friends in a hotel through their time share (I believe it is right behind the MGM Grand), and the restaurant that has been recommended more than anything else has been the Sugar Factory! I will take any other restaurant or show recs that you want to give! =)

As for the photographer...I really can't get started on her without flying into a curse-filled rage. Hubs and I are hoping that it is a family issue and not just her ignoring us (not that I wish for something bad to happen, but it would be better than her outright avoiding us), but we have a feeling that the pics turned out bad and knowing how much we valued the pictures, she is afraid to show us what she has. Thanks for your thoughts though...I hope you're right and everything will be okay.

Thanks Shellie! Like I said above, I really can't say much about her without flying off the handle (lol) but I'm hoping there is a reasonable explanation. As for going to the doctor, I would love to, but I have no insurance since I lost my job at Kohl's. I am already in the hole for a doctor visit I had right after I lost my job that I thought would be covered, and we just found out wasn't. Hubs hasn't been able to add me to his yet, and we don't know if we will, since it will be $150 every two weeks for me to be on his insurance. And with me not having a job, we can't afford that. So, self-medicating it is. =(

I hope you are right, Star. She doesn't have a studio as she is just getting her business off the ground, she works out of her house. All I know is she lives in the next county over, but we do not have an address for her. =\

Thanks sugar. You guys don't even know half of what she put us through on our day. The post I put in a wedding forum about her would knock your socks off (and even THAT doesn't have everything in it that she did!).

Trust me seawaters, I am MORE than irate, lol! I shake so bad when I talk about her, that's how angry I am. I mentioned above about not having insurance so I really can't go to the doctor right now, though I would love to. Codeine would be my best friend right about now! I'm so sorry about your broken ribs! I kinda feel the same way, although not in my ribs...but I should have ripped abs with all the coughing I've been doing! lol

Thanks Laurie! =)

Good Saturday morning, my Christmas friends!

I'm here at Bernie's all day. I've already cooked & sold breakfast. Now I'm knee-deep in lunch, with cheesburgers, pepperoni pizza & rotisserie chicken. Mmmm, mmmm!

Of course, it's grilled skinless chicken breast for me, but that's pretty good, too.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Good morning, Christmas friends. Hubby and I drove to Redding yesterday for doctors' appointments. On the way, I suggested our having a Thanksgiving dinner on Monday. He agreed!!! (Later last evening, I heard him telling a friend of ours that we were celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving.) At one of the doctor's offices, there was an OLD issue of Sunset magazine (November 2011). We decided to try the recipes from it for Monday because we have a set menu for the US Thanksgiving. Anyway, here's our menu (most recipes from the mag!): Brined Turkey (not from the mag, but we know this is good and can't stray from our regular recipe; we bought an eight pounder); Sage Gravy (our regular recipe); Wild Mushroom and Butternut Squash Bread Pudding; Fingerling Potatoes with Bacon Cream; Roasted Cauliflower and Shallots; Cranberry Sauce (store-bought); Homemade Rolls; Chocolate Chunk Pumpkin Cupcakes; and Pouilly-Fuisse White Burgundy (thanks to the recommendation by LaurieBear).

Hi Ryan, I'm an early decorator too. I decorate the weekend after Halloween, and if I could get by with it I'd decorate earlier......I love it!!!

I went for a little drive tonight......someone had Christmas lights up! I am a little amazed. White, green, and a nativity scene.

WWWOOOOOOOOOHHHOOOOOOOOOO!!! it's coming y'all!

Third Day is also awesome !!! xo

i love third day also!!!

Good evening, Christmas family !! It is raining here. All the furkids are fast asleep. I too am getting ready to call it a night. Tomorrow my sister is coming and we are going to the October Hallmark Ornament Premiere !!!!!!!!!!!! There are quite a few ornaments I really want !!

This was such a tiring week and I work Sunday to try and catch up. At least my employer does not put any pressure on me. It is all on my shoulders when I work or don't work.

We did get some very, very bad news about health insurance coveraged on both of us. My husband's Pension provider is cutting me in 2015. That means I will be nearly 60 with a pre-existing condition and no insurance. We also found out that my husband will also have to pay more for his out of his pension. I just really don't know what we will do but as it is not 2015 yet, I am going to try and not worry about it.

I will be praying for all our Christmas family especially those who are sick or facing loss xoxo

Have a great night, dear Christmas family !!!

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian Christmas family !!!!

[I
I had to post a Christmas one too !!!

i hope you & your sister have a wonderful time cm3!!! i'm really sorry to hear about the insurance issues you guys are having. is there any way you could find a new 1 now?

Now they just gotta beat them dang Yankees!

hey....c'mon i'm a Yankees fan! i've been reading what you & xmas think of us but not said nothing yet. are we still friends?

Morning, gang! Hope everyone is doing ok! Home from a trip last night and fell asleep by 9:45 or so (somewhere around there....couldn't really tell you), so when my eyes popped open at 7:15, I actually felt rested.

Saw some news about some Christmas shows coming on...I can't begin to tell you how much that excites me! I'm so excited, I'm about to go surf to see if I can find some more. That's one of my favorite things to do this time of year...

Alright, have a good, chilly Saturday (last night when I landed it was 84, when I got home an hour later it was 52...high today 50)! I'm going to make some soup, cookies, and some other items that I can freeze for Christmas!

Have a blessed day!

coach, isn't it a bit chilly to be surfing??? bahahahahaha!

Hello everyone. It is 40 degrees right now in Oklahoma! Next week we're supposed to be back in the 70s, but I'm going to enjoy the weather today! My son has a Halloween project to work on for school, so we're going to go pumpkin shopping today. We'll have fun doing that, and it will give me a chance to see which stores around here have some Christmas merchandise out! Hope you all enjoy your Saturday! I'm predicting chili and football are in the cards for me this evening, so this is shaping up to be a good day!

oh how i wish we had temps like this....

Sounds scrumptious !!!! Is it hard to brine a turkey ?????? xo

Lauriebear,
I did a search on the wine and found out I could buy it in Chico at two places, one being Cost Plus World Market. When we got to Redding, we stopped at BevMo just to see if they had it; and they had never heard of a "white burgundy." I could not remember the name (Pouilly-Frisse) but I told the clerk that it was, indeed, a real wine. Anyway, we were driving along the little mall area; and I spotted a Cost Plus World Market! I think I scared my husband when I said, "Wait, we can get it there!" I went in, but the clerk didn't know about a white burgundy, especially since I couldn't remember the name. I kept trying different versions of the name, saying it sounds like Pooyay something. Finally, his eyes lit up and said, "I think I know what you are talking about." He led me over to it. There were several brands ranging in price from $7 to $24. I wishy-washied on the one to get and decided to get the one that had Pouilly-Frisse on the label (I am sure you can guess the price on that one!!!). I am looking forward to trying it on Monday. Thanks for the recommendation. Just think, this (our celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving and trying a new wine) all started with our wonderful conversations and recommendations on this forum. Thanks, friends!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. :]

I decided to drop my university reading for a while (I was doing it all day yesterday so I deserved some rest ^^) and went to the town centre earlier today. I spent four hours there and I'm so tired right now.

I entered ''Cardfactory'' at the shopping centre by accident and OMG, the store made me smile. There was A HUGE variety of Christmas cards and other lovely Christmas-related stuff! And it was so great to see people talking about Christmas and buying some lovely cards. I also bought some stuff. Not cards, unfortunately. ^^
