I haven't really hung out much in the countdown thread, but I've got my laptop with me as my daughter is laying next to me watching Polar Express (again) in lieu of a nap, so I thought I'd log in and say happy Monday.

The Polar Express just made it to the North Pole, and my 3 year old has expressed an interest in visiting the North Pole. I guess the closest we'll get will be a trip over to my parents' in a couple weeks to help decorate my mom's "Santa room" and put up the first tree of the year.

Busy weekend. Spent saturday Christmas shopping and buying clothes for my new job I start tomorrow. I am so excited! Today getting everything ready for tomorrow morning. I had to jump on line to read here alittle. Now I am off to read on my kindle. A Cowboy under my Christmas tree. This time a year most books I read are Christmas related! Everyone have a blessed week.

Its my eldest daughters birthday today she is 11 years old!! doesnt seem like 2 mins since she was a baby! where does the time go!

its a typical autumn morning here, I love it!! Yesterday my 6 year old Keira was out in the garden finding autumn leaves to make a picture with! she loved it!

I hope I'm able to explain it. Raclette is a original swiss traditional meal. Raclette are cheese slices which are put into an little pans:

Then the pans are put into a Raclette Oven, which can looks like this:

The cheese will melt and we eat it (like you can see on the picture) with jacket potatoes, meat like bacon, saucages, different kinds of vegatables and other things. If the cheese is heated up enough it looks like this:

There are special kind of cheese, since not all cheese brands will melt well when heat up. We usually only eat it it during fall and winter. It is very yummy but one should be very hungry otherwise you won't be able to eat much of it.

Today is my parent's 47 year wedding anniversary!!! I just love them (of course I do), they are an awesome couple!

It is also my son-in-law's birthday today!

Big celebrations going on today!!!

Oh well, the camping in the backyard started well but didn't last. About 1 am my 8 year old woke me up to tell me she was cold so I let her go to her bed. Less than an hour later my 7 year old did the same thing. I wound up sleeping on the couch because I didn't want to wake up the Mrs. I promised them we would try again in the spring when the nights would not dip into the 40's and they had no problem waiting until then.

The bet part Murphy is in about 10 or so years you will all be sitting around remembering and all laugh with happiness over this memory of this time.

congrats on the test. girl let me tell you that's something to be proud of! when i was taking real estate classes it was bad. i kept thinking they were trick questions because they weren't worded as they were when i studied. no tricks just me being.....

I just took the third quiz of the chapter, it was multiple choice. I got 3 wrong out of 32 questions, so I was proud of that. Phew!
I totally agree w/ you, though-the wording of it is very confusing..not sure if they throw in trick questions, or if it's because there are some grey areas. Maybe both!

i understand what you said about cramped. the big stores don't bother to move anything out just bring the Christmas in & pack the stores.

cooked supper early but we are having crowder peas w/ supper & i didn't want us to eat & then....well you know what they say about beans. hehehe! we will wait until we get home later & eat.

there's something daughter was saying about a tradition to "lock" your class ring after you get it. her grad year is 2014, 13 different peeps will turn her ring 1x around away from her heart & the 14th(because of graduating in 2014) will turn it towards her heart & it will stay then. she wants her brother Seth to lock it.

Another Monday means another week closer to the Holiday Season!

Just played 4-5 Xmas songs as part of my weekly countdown to the holidays incl. Michael Buble's Jingle Bells / Manhensteam Roller's Deck the Halls and from the Charlie Brown Xmas album, Greensleeves, one of my favorite albums of the Holiday Season but there are so many, it's hard to narrow it down to just a few.
Then ended with Barenaked Ladies' take on God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.


Another week closer, only 10 weeks to Xmas Eve!

To some, that seems like a lot, but I know that this will go by so quickly especially once Nov comes around.

V, i'm really sorry you had such a horrible day. try to keep repeating to yourself, "this too shall pass". it really helps me when i'm catching it from all sides. as far as your photographer: is there a whistle blower or newspaper or something you could contact about finding them? this would have me over edge also friend. i hope this morning finds you feeling a little better.

I studied the music of both Beethoven and Mozart and once upon a time could play a few of their sonatas on piano ! I learnd The Moonlight Sonata so I could play it for my sister and also because of its beauty !!
Mozart is also my very favorite classical composer !! I have Amadeus and it IS an incredible movie !! xo Sangria is now part of the furkids shout out that I do on here !! xo

I never really learned to play piano, but I did teach myself a little bit of Fur Elise because I loved it so much. Thanks for adding Sangria to the furkids shout out, I know she appreciates it, as do I! =)

The Fall is our busiest time, I only get one day off with my family and we try to pack everything we can into it. Next Sunday we are heading to Yankee Candle for the day trip. I love it but I have no energy left, I am exhausted.

I have always said that the next time I head to New England, I want to visit Yankee Candle!! Have a great time and let me know how it is!

Just laying here with my headphones on reading the posts and listening to Christmas music, I am doing my "research" trying to find new, or different songs for my thread Christmas Song A Day, All Year.

I have one busy day ahead of me tomorrow, it is my day off and I have to get a haircut. My hair looks like Christopher Walken's if I don't gel it down.

I honestly thought about going as him for Halloween, but I can't stand my hair being this long, and I don't want to be that scary. cheesy My wife told me she has never seen it this long, and she has known me for more than 14 years.

Then I plan on going to Toys R Us to put Christmas gifts for my boys on layaway, I am going to try that guarantee on the hot toys we want to get a Tabeo for JP, it's a children's tablet. He will flip his lid if we can get it, LC we are planning to get him a Nintendo DS, he always wants his brother's.
