"Funny" you mention that my brother is smiling down on me. When Mike died our friends gave us some beautiful wind chimes. When I was taking the pictures of the afghan, the wind chimes were going CRAZY!!!! It was a windy day, so that is not uncommon, BUT as soon as I put the camera away, they went totally silent & stayed silent. Gave me chills. Kinda cool!!

I agree too. Let me share a story...I will try to be quick. A while back I was missing my mother terribly. I woke up in the middle of the night with a SCREAMING migraine. I took medicine and went to sleep finally. Later that day, I was talking to my sister. She said she dreamed of our mother and mom told her that she had a terrible headache !!! My mother NEVER got headaches and my sister did not know I had a headache. I think this was my mother's way of telling me she is here for me still !! I definitely agree that those we lost are still with us xo

You know there are times when I can feel my Nana and she loved the smell of roses, wore a perfume that smelled of roses sometimes when I am no where near roses I smell them maybe for a moment or two or sometimes when I wake up in the morning, I sometimes think I just imagined it but I know sometimes I didn't I feel like Nana is with me at those times

We pulled the kids out of school yesterday and spent the whole day at the State Fair. I must say that of all the fried treats we sampled, the deep fried Snickers Bar still tops them all just like it did 4 years ago when we last went. Yours truely decided to get on a whirley ride with my 8 year old even though I forgot to take any motion sickness medicine. Safe to say I spent the next hour layed out under a tree trying to keep my stomach in check. All that fried food in my belly didnt help matters any. Overall a great day had by all. Have a great weekend everybody.

I am sitting here enjoying a cup of hot chocolate made the keurig machine! I gotta get one of those, would be nice if they just let me keep this one.

Work sucked last night, I got stuck with the young woman who has no idea what it means to actually work. So instead of being done at 11 it was midnight before I was finished. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Then she leaves an hour early because.....ready for this! because she ran for 12min earlier in the day and was tired. She left me with all the work to do as well as a line of customers!!!!!

Ok, better now, going back to my hot chocolate.

don't you wish we could just stay home & enjoy this lovely place here & not have any worries about work?

I know this may sound lame but what about adding "tuffs of cotton balls" ; you take the cotton ball and spread it out and place it on the trees branches it is suppose to simulate tuffs of snow, we do this on the rectory trees as we try to keep it plain we use that with red bows; no lights, or anything else - well a star at the top that is in white sparkly glitter (um, when we put that star on can I Drink Up!!! LOL) it sounds silly I guess but it does look really nice once it is all done up.

no not @ all. we actually used the cotton 2 years ago all over the place. we try not to use the same things every year. i think it's so pretty when the light are on & it shines through the cotton.

Friday hello ... Just checking in with my favorite people.

We're scheduled to get switched over to cable Internet tomorrow---wish me luck. Our "office" has no cable in it, so they have to bring it in through the floor. They said it'll be no problem, as long as there isn't a big stack of boxes in the corner or something. Uh-oh. I think we'll be moving some boxes tomorrow morning.

I can't tell you all what a difference that medication has made !! I have tiny little aches and pains now but for the most part I can do everything I want to w/o too much bother. What a miracle !!

I seem to have clicked on Merry Christmas Radio somehow and I am listening to Frank Sinatra singlng White Christmas - Beautiful !! Although I didn't mean to click on it, I am glad I did !! Not much planned today. As I said yesterday, I am taking the day off. It is so nice to be able to be FREE when I want to. I will work some tomorrow and Sunday but if I did not want to, I would not have to.

I am planning on us working on doing our garlands today and also checking the lawn decorations to see what works and what doesn't. I hope everyone has a Christmassy day !!! xoxo

Good morning my Merry friends! TGIF! It's a dreary/rainy/windy day in Ohio - about the same as Made! Hopefully it will improve as the weekend goes on! We are heading to the lake for our 2nd last weekend of the season! Next weekend in the Halloween party/chili dump/Buckeye game & that will be it for the year. Kinda sad but I'll be happy to have my Saturdays at home again!

Thanks for all the nice remarks about the afghan! I'm not sure yet when I will get that over to her, but hopefully in the next week or two!

Seawaters - We love bbq sauce! How nice of her to bring that in for you! I'm glad to hear there is a little "fun" involved with your radiation treatments! The pit-cooked turkey sounds wonderful!!

Thanks for positive thoughts everyone. While it's rainy and dreary here in Ohio today things might be turning around. Getting ready for a fancy steak dinner out with just my wife, my brother in law, and his girlfriend. Maybe a movie afterward. So nice to have parents nearby who are willing to watch their grandkids. I'm hosting scary movie night @ my house w/ my friend Patty, it's a tradition we do every year around Halloween. Adrian & her husband, Mike, are going out for guy's night. On Sunday, my friend Jen & I are going shopping for Christmas things and having lunch. It should be a really nice weekend.

I e-mailed my course instructor, and didn't really get the response I was hoping for. Don't get me wrong, she's a very nice, intelligent lady, but I don't think she gets that some people haven't taken math classes for almost 20 years! It's frustrating because she pretty much responded with things I already told her weren't helping, and didn't go into enough detail for me to grasp them. Just pointed out the page (yes, ONE page) in the course book that addresses them. Ahhh!

Next step, I'll bring my course book on Sunday & see if my friend Jen can help. She used to work in a mortgage office, so maybe, just maybe, she can help me figure out some formulas. Fingers crossed.

We heard from one of the property managers I've been talking to @ a potential home to rent in Eau Claire. I will look at it next month. And I also talked to a property manager of some new townhomes being built there, and I will also tour them. I prefer an actual house for yard space, but if I can't find a fenced in yard for Harlowe, then these townhouses may be the way to go. They are beautiful! And in a really nice, safe area. And they have great walking trails. At least we have some leads...

What else is new w/ you guys?

sounds like you're gonna have a wonderful weekend! the idea of talking to your friend about some of the issues w/ your classes is a great idea. her being a mortgage broker she will probably be able to help you a great deal! it's wonderful that you're searching homes for the move now. you can never be to prepared.

Coons are adorable. Not sure about the mean part, but they are very messy. They moved into the barn a few years ago and rearranged things to their liking. It isn't stuff I use, so I let them stay there. cheesy

I know they like hamburger buns. You have to be extremely careful when setting food out at the state parks here because they will run up and grab it when you turn your back.
