Christmas Countdown - 2012

good morning y'all! :hi:

i've been glued to the tv since waking up this morning.

has anyone heard from lauriebear? God be w/ her & her family.

i hope this finds everyone safe this morning. i am praying all are able to get word to us they are ok.

i took my Mama to her lung doc yesterday. i wasable to ask questions & got good info. not sure how to spell it but she has bron-chactus? she has scaring in the bottom of her lungs which causes her to cough often. not curable but treatable. as long as she stays on top of things & see's her doc regularly all should be ok. it does make her more susseptible (can't spell) to lung related illnesses.


even though my Daddy has pneumonia he went on to a doc appt. he had @ the V.A. they had done blood work a couple weeks ago & he went to get results. a good friend of his went w/ him. he explained to them what he has & they checked him out & agreed & gave him an inhaler to use also. Daddy is feeling better but still has a long way to go to be his old self again. he will just have to be patient or i'll have to hawg tie him.

i'm off today. boss said no orders there so i don't mind. i think i may do some more stuff around the house to get ready for this weekend. we put our Christmas decorations up & out this weekend. yaay!

Good morning, everyone.

Happy eight weeks until Christmas! It seems like yesterday I was preparing myself for a flight to Florida. Actually, I wish it was, because I had a great time. However, now to look forward to the next event circled on my calendar - the beginning of the Christmas Season! Only two more weeks lie between then and now. Until then, I will have to absorb as much Christmas as possible. I do not believe it will be too difficult to find things to absorb following tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, it should be a wonderful Halloween special at the 'Pines. Carl is very lucky this year, with so many special occasions falling on Wednesdays.

I had plenty of time to relax last night. It was great. I really needed it, too. Vacations certainly make me more tired than working... I managed to fall asleep on the couch just after 10. I'm hoping for something similar tonight!

Well, I don't have a whole lot to say. No plans for the rest of the week. My dad might be visiting but I am currently unsure of his plans. He did a lot of driving last week, so it may be delayed. I should phone him and see. Otherwise, I'm excited to take a week off from the gym. My knee/body needs rest. I'm actually going to listen to this advice for once. I'm sure I will be bored and ready to return before next week, but I'll keep myself in check...

In regards to Sandy, I hope everyone is safe and OK. All the best to you, your families and loved ones. I watched some coverage last night and it looked devastating. Take care and be safe. Have a great Tuesday, everyone!!

Good morning! The word of the day = SNOW!!!!!! My hubby opens up the blinds this morning & says "Oh no". I asked "DID IT SNOW???? :grin:" (with much anticipation in my voice He says "Yes, the 1st sticking snow on the 30th means 30 more snows!!!" I say, bring it on & keep everyone safe!!!! :

It is really windy & it is a heavy wet snow! It would have been a GREAT day for staying home & baking cookies! Ah well.... off to work I went!

Good morning, Christmas family

Well, even though we were not in the direct path of Sandy, it hit here of course. The winds have been just terrifying. I don't know if there is damage but it certainly kept me awake. I pray that all of our MMC family who were in the direct path check in with us.......

My Hermione has to go to the doctor today. Her face is all swollen AGAIN. I am going to go along too. I should stay and work but as there is no work right now and I am not expecting too much because of the storm, I want to be there with my baby. I hope it is not anything serious. She acts just fine, full of mischief as ever. Eating great, drinking normally, just has a swollen face.

I hope all have a safe and Christmassy day xo

Good Morning MMC!!! It's cold and WINDY here in Central Indy!!!!!! We're not seeing any snow like Holiday though. It's stayed about an hour east of us so far. We just have the 30 mph sustained winds and 50 mph gusts. So my plan for today is to just hunker down and try to get some stuff done around the apartment. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't look like she posted here, so just to let you know, Judesmama posted on facebook that they came through ok. No damage and they still have power.

We made it through and didn't lose power! How did everyone else fare? No damage and just a wee bit of water in the basement. I am feeling so thankful this morning. My cell phone doesn't work but they are "working to restore service." I have a home phone and my husband has a work cell that is working so that's a relief! Lots of downed trees and lots of peopel without power around us.

Did I ever! I was in the cafeteria visiting with the kids who were eating breakfast...and it sounded like a rolling thunder....and all the kids got really quite and it kinda shook for a few seconds...talk about an eerie silence falling over the building....then once we realized everything was ok and it wasn't the big one (New Madrid fault), it was back to normal.



I got in trouble. A foul word slipped out of my mouth at my mother's at the conclusion of the game. You talk about catching a look...my mother was HOT. But it wasn't anything compared to the tongue lashing I got from my wife on the ride home.

They just don't understand.

I'm telling Santa!!! oint: :lol:

she is complete denial, she thinks we all over reacted and that it was only because of her cold. The tests and continued high blood pressure say otherwise. She has to go to the stoke prevention clinic but I am sure she will fight that too.

Lauriebear and Jayish are the 2 that still haven't checked in that were in the heart of the storm and the most likely to have damage.

Then we are still waiting to see if Jennifer, Sugar, Xmas, Xmastidings, MerryCarey, and Vsuclaribnl still have power.

How is everything at your place? Hopefully you got away with no damages on your house and property.

We were very lucky. We never lost power for more than a few seconds, and the most damage we seem to have had is a lot of twigs and small branches down off the trees. I drove in to work this morning, and had to turn around and go in a different way because the police had a road blocked off due to a fallen tree. My heart goes out to those in New York and New Jersey, and points south where there is heavy flooding. I hope JayIsh lets us know how he's doing.
