Forgot to thank everyone who prayed for those of us affected by Sandy. The prayers were much appreciated, and we felt their blessings.

I finally picked up a copy of the book "Miracle On 34th Street" it came with a tree ornament for $2.

Let me know what you think! It differs from the movie in some respects, but the author is the guy who wrote the original story and developed the screenplay, and I really enjoy the variations.

I still can't wrap my head around tomorrow being Halloween ... it snuck up on me like a ghost. Gotta get my Christmas music, movies, and books out and ready to go!

We made it through and didn't lose power! How did everyone else fare? No damage and just a wee bit of water in the basement. I am feeling so thankful this morning. My cell phone doesn't work but they are "working to restore service." I have a home phone and my husband has a work cell that is working so that's a relief! Lots of downed trees and lots of peopel without power around us.

Thinking of you all!

Great to hear it. Stay safe!

good morning y'all! :hi:

i've been glued to the tv since waking up this morning.

has anyone heard from lauriebear? God be w/ her & her family.

i hope this finds everyone safe this morning. i am praying all are able to get word to us they are ok.

i took my Mama to her lung doc yesterday. i wasable to ask questions & got good info. not sure how to spell it but she has bron-chactus? she has scaring in the bottom of her lungs which causes her to cough often. not curable but treatable. as long as she stays on top of things & see's her doc regularly all should be ok. it does make her more susseptible (can't spell) to lung related illnesses.

even though my Daddy has pneumonia he went on to a doc appt. he had @ the V.A. they had done blood work a couple weeks ago & he went to get results. a good friend of his went w/ him. he explained to them what he has & they checked him out & agreed & gave him an inhaler to use also. Daddy is feeling better but still has a long way to go to be his old self again. he will just have to be patient or i'll have to hawg tie him.

i'm off today. boss said no orders there so i don't mind. i think i may do some more stuff around the house to get ready for this weekend. we put our Christmas decorations up & out this weekend. yaay!

talk to y'all later!:-P

Your parents are in my prayers, merry! Enjoy your day off. I decorate on Thursday, after work

Radiation treatments will continue until after the first week of December. Plus, we drive 140 miles round trip each day. I still have a few things to do, like report cards, but now I can concentrate only on that. Thanks to everyone for your concern. I am trying to quickly read the posts to see who all has checked in from the storm.

Inspiring! Good luck with the continued treatments!

Hi everyone!! All is okay here - just lots of rain and wind. All of our Halloween decorations are down outside and I think one of them blew away somewhere. We surprisingly didn't lose power but we had massive gusts of winds. It's still pretty windy but I am hoping the worst of it was last night.

How is everyone doing? No damage from the storm? I have been praying for everyone's safety as well as family members/homes/etc. I still cannot believe this storm hit!! Remember over a week ago I said a snow storm was coming? Well, if the temperatures were cooler here, that's what it would have been! I have been watching coverage and they said three storms combined together. It's crazy.

Great to hear you're fine. Only losing one Halloween decoration should be considered as a success!

Just a yard that needs to be raked -- badly!

Good luck with that!

Good morning,

It is pretty much back to normal here, wife is at work, kids are at school and preschool, I was hoping for a day with them today. I guess it is good things are relatively okay here. I went to Kmart this morning to buy some candy for trick or treaters, which will be postponed until Sunday as a precaution before the storm got here. Then went to Goodwill shop and looked at their Christmas stuff good stuff there today, I finally picked up a copy of the book "Miracle On 34th Street" it came with a tree ornament for $2.

Having kids trick or treat on November 4th will be quite strange. It's delaying their preparations for Christmas!

Good Morning !!

I could not sleep either ......That wind is something else and like with you, it is still going on here !! The pups had to go out a couple of times last night when it was at its worst and I went with them of course. That way if they got hit by a branch or something I could save them......Hope you didn't get any damage xoxoox

I'm sorry you couldn't sleep, CM3. That is so sweet of you to go out with your fur kids ~ I stand on the porch with the night light on when I take Bo out. He doesn't usually wander too far when it is stormy out as he is terrified of storms. He didn't want to go out until I got back from town this morning nor did he want to stay out long, the poor guy. As to damage, I don't see anything major, nor do I see any trees that have fallen. I did hear some fall, but I'm not walking out in the woods to check how big of a mess there is ~ it will still be there when it is nicer weather out. It is still windy out, but not nearly as bad as last night and early this morning. One good thing about being in the woods during a wind storm is that the patio furniture and trash cans and stuff like that all seem to be right where I left them. I hope all is okay out your way!!!

It is good to hear you all got good through the storm!

I'm heading to an meeting with the other sunday school teachers. We have to prepair the sunday school christmas. I'm very tired, because I had a busy work day but I hope the meeting will be successful.

Good morning! The word of the day = SNOW!!!!!! My hubby opens up the blinds this morning & says "Oh no". I asked "DID IT SNOW????" (with much anticipation in my voice:) He says "Yes, the 1st sticking snow on the 30th means 30 more snows!!!" I say, bring it on & keep everyone safe!!!! :snowball:

It is really windy & it is a heavy wet snow! It would have been a GREAT day for staying home & baking cookies! Ah well.... off to work I went!

And now I'm off to read posts! Wishing you all a great day!!!

Yay ~ it snowed where you live! I thought I saw a stray flake or two on the way to town, but it could have been sleet. It is a good day for staying home and baking ~ I'm going to make soup, though. Have a most MERRY day!!!

Good morning, Christmas family

Well, even though we were not in the direct path of Sandy, it hit here of course. The winds have been just terrifying. I don't know if there is damage but it certainly kept me awake. I pray that all of our MMC family who were in the direct path check in with us.......

My Hermione has to go to the doctor today. Her face is all swollen AGAIN. I am going to go along too. I should stay and work but as there is no work right now and I am not expecting too much because of the storm, I want to be there with my baby. I hope it is not anything serious. She acts just fine, full of mischief as ever. Eating great, drinking normally, just has a swollen face.

I hope all have a safe and Christmassy day xo

Oh, CM3 ~ I hope Hermione will be okay. She is in my thoughts and prayers, as are you! {{{HUGS}}}

We seem to have made it through Sandy with our electricity still working. I have off work today, but it's because of sciatica, not Sandy. I hope everyone is all right.

I'm so glad to see everything is okay with you and yours, judesmama! Did the boys have fun camping out all night?

She hasn't been on since Friday and it's almost guaranteed that she doesn't have power right now. Praying that she came through relativity unscathed.

I'm praying, too!

she is complete denial, she thinks we all over reacted and that it was only because of her cold. The tests and continued high blood pressure say otherwise. She has to go to the stoke prevention clinic but I am sure she will fight that too.
got to love her!

Aw, she sounds so wonderful! I'm still praying for her, Christmasstar!

Cm3.........Hope she bes ok and they can figure out what it is

Meceka,
who is Wilson? I don't remember you talking about Wilson and sorry if you have more details on him but like I said, I just hurried through the post.

Wilson is Palmer's bigger neon green ball with a smiley face on it. She loves it and is devastated that I cannot find it.

Oh, that's a gorgeous mug!

We were very lucky. We never lost power for more than a few seconds, and the most damage we seem to have had is a lot of twigs and small branches down off the trees. I drove in to work this morning, and had to turn around and go in a different way because the police had a road blocked off due to a fallen tree. My heart goes out to those in New York and New Jersey, and points south where there is heavy flooding. I hope JayIsh lets us know how he's doing.

I'm so glad you are all right, Merry!

Something happened to the house last night though, I cannot figure out what it is. One of our rooms keeps tripping the circuit breaker, I turn it back on and it just goes right back off again. I don't know if some rain got inside the wall and is tripping it or what but it has me worried, I have it off now and I am hoping the sun being out will dry things up a bit. Looks like the electrician will be here at some point.

Oh yeah, Kmart has there Christmas stuff up, it looks great as usual.

Have a great day, and continue to stay safe.

I'm so glad you and yours survived the storm! Cool find at GW! I hope your electrical problem is nothing major.

I'm so glad to see everything is okay with you and yours, judesmama! Did the boys have fun camping out all night?

They loved it and we actually all slept really well!! They are now busily climbing what was a neatly folded pile of blankets and pillows and jumping off! :)
