I have not been on since Saturday morning and don't have time to catch up on all post, my granddaughter will be here shortly.

Wayne and I celebrated his birthday all day Saturday. He got a few emails for free dinners at various restaurants so we went out for lunch and dinner and spent nearly the whole day going to different stores checking out Christmas goodies! We had the Christmas music blaring in the car most of the day, after I played the Birthday song by the Beatles! :D That might not sound like much of a birthday to those not into Christmas but we had a blast (I'm sure you all here at MMC understand)!

We were wild and didn't get home until 8:00 pm!!! Ha ha! :wiggy:

That sounds like a wonderful birthday! Glad you both had a great time!

Good morning everyone,

It's Monday. Another work week has begun. The good news? Well, next Monday will be the eve of the Christmas Season. Just over seven days until we can countdown (in real time) to the beginning of the Christmas Season!

I hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour of the weekend. I actually woke up this morning a little confused. I didn't awake in darkness like I had been doing the previous couple of weeks. The time change now has the sunrise at about 6:48 rather than the 7:30ish times we had last week. But, the days are still getting shorter. The sun sets tonight at 4:44 pm. That's early!

The temperature is still getting a little colder. We are currently at 0c (32f) with a -3 (27f) wind chill. Daytime highs are only supposed to reach about 6c (44f) for the rest of the week, too. Even the weather can tell you that the Christmas Season is on its way!

Yesterday was somewhat relaxing. Although they did not play too well, I was satisfied with a Packers victory. Kim and I also put our bikes in storage at a friend's place for the winter. Another sign! And the best sign of all? We may have turned on the Christmas lights last night. It just seems so much more peaceful with the decorations shining in the living room. I'll have to take some pictures soon!

Not a whole lot else is happening. Today is my last Monday at my job. My second last day at the job. My contract expires tomorrow. I'm hoping that something comes along as soon as possible. I need money and cannot be out of work very long! Again, it's terrible to have two degrees and a diploma and not be able to find work.

Have a great Monday, everyone! It is the final full work week before the Season begins!

you've got your lights up! yaay! me too, ain't it cool?
brent if you don't mind me asking, w/ the level of education you have, is the economy there bad as well? is that why it's been so difficult for you to find something? i will surely be praying something comes your way quickly!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's the coldest morning in 10 months here in central Indy. That's okay with me though. It's just helping me get in the spirit. I've been up and at it for awhile now. I've already managed to get the dishes done, laundry done, sweeper ran, and cinnamon rolls made. I don't know what's gotten into me. The rest of the day I'm going to spend getting caught up on some work I need to get done on the computer and then I'm going to sneak some Jim Shore Santa's out. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

I can't stand this time change! I looked at the clock last night, I was sure it was around 9pm,...it was 7pm! Then I was wide awake at 5am. Grrrr. Now it's going to be dark at 6pm. No time to do anything outside after work.

Feel sorry for me yet?

On the bright side...IT'S NOVEMBER!

We checked the StealthCam yesterday for the first time in a couple weeks. It has an LCD display on the front that shows how many pictures have been taken since it was last checked. It had 648 pictures on it! We were so excited until we found only 10 pictures of deer, and 638 pictures of a limb that the wind was blowing around. LOL

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

A lot of restaurants have Birthday Clubs if you sign up online and on your birthday you get a gift certificate for a free dinner or dessert. Some are valid for the whole month of your birthday and some expire within 2 weeks of your birthday, they all vary. The best one we get every year is for Benihana, a pricey Japanese restaurant. The gift certificate is for 30 bucks and they have awesome food! Red Robin is another one that is good. We have been getting these for years. Google for some restaurants around you and see what they offer. We are not too cheap and tip well even though the bill is inexpensive! :D

Having the lights up is fantastic! It definitely brightens the mood in the apartment. In regards to my education, I don't mind at all. I have a diploma in Journalism - Print and Broadcast. A Bachelor of Arts (Hon.) degree with a double major in History and English. I also have a Bachelor of Education. The teaching market in Ottawa is a little saturated. It is quite difficult to find anything. I have been working in public service (government) on and off for the past year. It's also impossible to get anything more than a 90 working day contract with the government as well. I appreciate all the help I can get!

In celebration of this extra hour, Kim and I may have taken out all our Christmas decorations... Oops! It may be a little early, I know, but we had to put our air conditioner away in the storage room. During this process, we figured that we might as well kill two birds with one stone and do some Christmas decorating while we're at it. No complaints here!

Awesome, awesome!!!

Hello World!!! *waves vigorously*

So much to do and so little time.........no, wait, I'm on holiday ALL WEEK so I can take all the time I like!!! I go back for a couple of weeks and then from Dec. 7th I'm off until January - how great is that???!!! How's everybody else doing???

I'm working my way through various things today which started with a long walk with the dogs. Bitterly cold but brilliant sunshine so it was lovely. I've compiled the Christmas Card Exchange List so once it closes today, we're all ready to go (point of note CLOSING DAY TODAY FOR THE EXCHANGES!!!) As Shellie said, Movies 24 is now Christmas 24 so I'll have the TV on whilst making an apple pie. Sometime over the next few days I'll have to sort out my begonias, if it isn't too late. They were stunning over the summer and I'd like to hold onto them until next year!!!!!

I may even feel inclined to bake cookies................oh, and it's the last episode of Downton Abbey tonight (unhappy smiley face) this series has flown by but luckily they're making a Christmas special!!!!

*Jealousy* ENJOY your time off! What a great time of year to be off!

I can't believe we are to single digits for the season. I can't believe it! Where did this year go? Where have the last few years gone? It seems like a week or so ago that I came here for the first time. Amazing.

Yesterday was an interesting day. My truck is closing in on 10 years old. It's been a great truck, never been in the shop, never had an issue other than having to change the oil, but I've got that itch. So yesterday, we went and test drove a couple of truck and we ALMOST got one. Let me tell you, our little plan of good cop/bad cop was perfect. She acted like she didn't want it. Of course, Mr. Impulsive was all in. So we inch them down and inch them down...and we walked out. We get in the truck and started laughing and she said....Why didn't you get it?

She had convinced me that the bad cop act was real. Agh! They were locking the doors, so I just took it as a sign as it wasn't meant to be. Oh well.

Saw some good Christmas decorations last night, but next weekend we go shopping for Thanksgiving supplies. We are soooo excited. I don't know why, it's jsut a trip to the grocery store...but it's such an event for us. Also, next week is Christmas tree weekend! So much coming up....so much excitement.

Can't wait!

They will probably be calling you about that truck yet!!! Lol! I get excited for Thanksgiving shopping at the grocery store too. It's the little things....

Sunday morning, got to sleep and hour longer thanks to the time change and still tired. Have to teach jr church this morning, hope the kids do not mind all the yawning!

Going out for lunch with my brother and mom. Have to break the news to her that she cannot go to Vermont for Thanksgiving. Hopefully in 90 the insurance company will let her have travel insurance again so she can take her spring trip there.
Then off to work again at 5pm, but we close an hour earlier, so not to bad.

Have a great day everyone!

I hope she took the news ok. Thats just so sad! She will have to do something fun at home!

Yes, as you read above, I'm doing my Christmas stuff TODAY!!! Not next weekend, where I have more time....I'm doing it NOW!!! Go figure.

This sounds like something I would do! FUN!!!

Oooh, I am goign to collect TONS of evergreen branches now!!!

How awesome!!!! Making something good out of a bad situation!! Good luck!

there is the cutest commercial on from Canadian Tire here that I just have to share with you. This family moves just before Christmas and the little boy is afraid Santa will not be able to find him...
[youtube_browser]qR3uYruD84g[/youtube_browser]

OMGosh! I LOVED this commercial. Thanks for sharing!!!!

The video looks likesomething I would have done when my sons were little.

Greating to everyone. Sorry I've been gone for so long. Now that I'm officially retired. I hope to spemd a little more time here. Now that I'm "that old", and my memory is shot, I hope you all will forgive me if I don't remember all the names. I do wonder if there is anyone, besides Crown and Binger, left from the oid Christmas.com days???

I noticed one of my neighbors up on his roof hanging lights. It must be that time of the year. Mine will be going up as soon as I can my son to help me.

Mrs Eagle just rang the dinner bell. Later my friends.

Welcome back Iron Eagle!!! Congrats on your retirement! Maybe it's a good thing christmas.com went away? ...we might not have this awesomely Christmassy home here if we were still at christmas.com?! Hope you can join us here more often now!
:sparkle:

Good morning everyone,

It's Monday. Another work week has begun. The good news? Well, next Monday will be the eve of the Christmas Season. Just over seven days until we can countdown (in real time) to the beginning of the Christmas Season!

I can't wait! It was fun being online and waiting for The Season last year. I'll have to tell Hubby he's not allowed to upload any videos that night, so that I won't keep getting kicked offline.

what up in the MMChood?? hope everyone had a great Sunday.

me & mine got all the Christmas done....well most of it anyway! we decided to put out our Christmas village this year. it's been put away for many years due to space but yaaay we found the perfect spot. we have an opening above our fireplace/gas logs that hubby USED to put the tv, that is of course, until he started buying them so big they wouldn't fit there any longer. hmmmmm. anyhoo me & daughter figured out just how we wanted it & got all the snow out & oohhhh, i'm so excited!!!!

do y'all ever get out your Christmas decorations & then wonder, where in the world did i put all this stuff? that's me right now. gotta figure this 1 out!
hubby has so so so so many Santas. i thought i would group them together but heck, i can't fit them all in the same place.

wow, i LOVE having these kind of dilemmas!

my niece in New Jersey got power back yesterday. my nephew there got his back 2 days ago. everyone is ok.

hope everyone has a great evening. good night!

Oh, such a problem to have! So many Christmas decortions, not enough space! Ha ha! I do often wonder "where did I put this stuff last year" - then I usually pull out pictures from the previous year(s) & say "OH YA!"

Hey Crown, All the boys are married and out on their own. Son #3 is still in USMC and currently deployed in the middle east. I now have 4 grandsons, but don't get to see them too often. Mrs Eagle is still working for a couple more years, then we are looking at leaving Chicago. Indiana is lookin' real good to us right about now. Grandma Eagle (Great Grandma Eagle) is in assisted living at 92yrs. Se's not too happy. She found out that they won't let her have her really big Christmas tree in her room. It's really, really big. 9ft I think. So she has to get a smaller tree. I told her they have Christmas trees in all the sitting areas, main hallways and by the fireplace in the main lobby. So she's going to wait and see.

So we are now empty nesters. Just the two of us and Maggie (the dog).

Is Binger still around? I miss his coffee rants. Many a cold night patrol with a hot cup of coffee (or tea), I would think of this place for a warming thought.

Christmasstar - Thanks for the wecome back. Old crew or new, we all are here to enjoy this wonderful time of the year . . . . Christmas !

I love Great Grandma Eagle! I would protest not being able to put up my 9' tree too!!!

Good evening everybody! Hope this finds you having enjoyed your weekend! Tomorrow, it's back to the grind. But we are closing in on the week of Thanksgiving and that will be some time off for me. Two more weeks is what I keep telling myself...two more weeks...

Special posts start this week....got mine done Saturday night....

Ahhhh....2 more full weeks of work, then a 3 day week & and a wonderful Thanksgiving Day ahead! Can't forget Black Friday shopping too!!! Yippee!!

Good Morning all you fantabulous peeps!!!!

i woke up feeling great this morning. it might be the time change or it may just be the fact that Christmasis only 49 days away! woooohoooo! it was great getting up & going into the kitchen to make coffee & seeing Christmas stuff everywhere!!!! I can't wait till the "special" posts start this weekend, what a line up of talent!!

can you believe i've already caught criticism for decorating so early? yeah, i went to my mama & daddy's yesterday to pick daughter up (from her other home lol)& my brother was saying, "it's too early, it's too early!" i, of course, went on to explain to him that, to me, Thanksgiving is the kick off for it all...the whole season, & i want to be able to enjoy allllll of it & i can't until i know all my decorations are done. there's alot of work involved in putting it all out & i want to be able to enjoy everything!, not to mention that i have to put up everyone elses after Thanksgiving. lol

i can't remember who now but there's a band coming to town the 2nd week in December for a Christmas concert. i'm always so busy between work & home that i never get to do anything. the tickets are $10 so i told hubby we are gonna go. i can't wait! i do remember it being a beach band & i like that. there's a post on the door @ work so i'll find out & let y'all know.

hey seawaters, we are going to mcadenville, Christmas Town, U.S.A., this year too. we said we were last year & never did. i think the weekend after Thanksgiving we are going, i'm so excited!

has anyone seen the pumpkin flavored eggnog in theirstores yet? i was wondering how it is. i've had the sugar cookie kind but it is waaay too sweet to me.

i hope y'all have a great day & have Christmassy thoughts all day!

Oh, I can't wait until I can get out of bed & the morning & flip a switch in the tv room & wah lah...Christmas lights all around!!!! So many things to look forward too!

Sounds like Wayne (and you) had a great birthday!!! How fun!!!

Good evening, everyone! How are you all!? I'm not bad. It's been a busy week/start to my weekend, but just thankful for my family and that I have them!

It your friends with me on Facebook, you would have saw the post about my dad yesterday. He hasn't been feeling very well for 3 days or so. He had flu like symptoms, just no fever and that is what EA had, so he went to the doctor. They thought he either had an appendicitis or diverticulitis. Well, that's not even close to what it was. He has a blood clot in the lining of his intestines. It was very scary for him and us at first - this is his 3rd blood clot - so he obviously has some type of issue. The doctors did a lot of clotting blood work to see. My mom and I both have a clotting deficieny. We both have had a blood clot before too, so they don't know where I get my deficieny from. I guess we soon wiill. The doctor flat out told him he could have died if he waited much longer. I knew that myself, but didn't want to tell my dad that.

Anyway, they told my dad yesterday, they were putting him on Heparin through his IV, which is a drip and he would be there for 3 to 5 days and if it didn't take care of the clot, he would need surgery. With his symptoms and such, he is already responding well and the doctor send he shouldn't need surgery, thank goodness!

Thank you all for your continued prayers as, I've been dealing with this, plus EA being sick this week - I know some of you too read about my uncle in the prayer section on the boards. We find out in a week and half if his tumors are cancerous. Please continue to prayer his tumors are non-cancerous.

What God doesn't give you...wheew!

Well, hope you're all having a great weekend! Don't forget to turn your clocks back tonight. I will be working an extra hour. God Bless and enjoy those Christmas movies. I know I am! cheesy

Sugar, your entire family is in my thoughts! I hope they are all feeling better soon!

Reno 911 is one of my favorite shows, I wish it was still on regularly. It was hilarious.

We love it too! We always try to catch it when it's on Comedy Central, it was the best show!

I have not been on since Saturday morning and don't have time to catch up on all post, my granddaughter will be here shortly.

I always play "Birthday" on my birthday! Started playing it for hubs's birthday too after we started dating. =) <3 the Beatles!!!

Hi all!

Had a pretty good weekend! We didn't do much Friday night...we were supposed to have 2 different sets of plans but both fell through. It was very weird for us to have a free night on a weekend! We are normally very busy or out with friends and family, so definitely a change of pace. =)

Saturday, hubs and I went shopping for my friend's baby shower and priced some water heaters. Luckily they weren't as expensive as we feared, and we're pretty sure we're going to replace ours within the next year. Saturday night we got together with some friends for another friend's birthday party. The wait at Buffalo Wild Wings was almost two hours, so we ended up at another sports bar down the street. We were lucky enough to get there in time to see Penn State pull down another win, and watch the Pitt/Notre Dame 3OT craziness! Afterwards, some of the friends came back to our place for drinks and games (Rock Band and Sour Apples to Apples).

Yesterday was my bridesmaid Amber's baby shower! It was A LOT of fun, probably the most fun I've ever had at one! The decorations and food were phenomenal, and she loved all her gifts! When that was over, some friends came back to our house to watch football. Two of our friends are rabid Steelers fans and I love the Giants, so we ordered pizza and spent hours yelling at the tv. While I am also a Steelers fan, my Giants love is bigger, so I was obviously disappointed in the end result (but still overall okay with it, lol). They ended up staying and talking til after 10, which I'm surprised hubs was able to stay up for because he notoriously falls asleep WAY before that!

I admittedly haven't done much today, I am slightly under the weather but I don't *feel* sick. I need to finish thank you cards, maybe run some errands, and a friend might be coming over to watch Dancing With the Stars, much to hubs' chagrin (he HATES the show). Hope you all have a great week!!! <3

I don't like it being dark when I get home. However, with daylight savings time, we have lots of kids waiting on school buses in the dark. At least now it is daylight. We had a bear approach some kids while they were eating and waiting on a school bus earlier this year. The kids didn't panic and knew what to do, (most of the boys had been bear hunting), but it could have been bad.

I was at Target yesterday buying new lights for our Christmas tree. Whee! I can't believe we're putting it up this week!

 now how did you get that picture of me?????

well asked a few mmc members and gathered it from what they told me lol
