Christmas Countdown - 2012

Here it is after lunch already and I have not even had lunch yet.
I have been out shopping and working on the gingerbread house.

I added up my work hours for the last week and I have put in 60 hours in 6 days, no wonder my feet hurt!

I will get some time later to catch up here, so I hope you and yours are all well.

Oh Star !!! That is a LOT of hours !!! You are amazing. I could never work that many hours ........xo

Good Monday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

We had a great trip to the Smoky Mountains again! We we're up in mgramsey's neck of the woods, and it was COLD. Friday afternoon, it warmed up some, so I turned off the heat...and forgot to turn it back on. I woke up at 5am Saturday, and you could see your breath! I didn't forget the heat again.

We also found the bargain of the century at Best Buy in Wayneville, NC. They were selling some of their display TVs for 80% off. I bought a 19" LCD for $20 and a 39" 1080p LED for $70! Mom bought a 32" 1080p LED for $50. We drove away from there joking that were in the getaway car, since we "stole" the TVs...LOL!

Of course, it was a tight ride home for the 5 of us (plus Lulu, our cockapoo) in that car with all our luggage AND the TVs. Whew!

I had a great time, but it's always good to get home, too. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Merry Carey's (recipe) fruit cakes are in the oven!!!

It may look like A LOT of fruit cake(& it is!!! :lol But those are pretty small loaf pans, so it's not quite as much as what it looks like!!

So exciting to see that! My parents baked theirs in tube pans. Let me know how they come out!

Yes! I have the VHS, and was able to convert it to DVD. I still watch it a couple times a year. When I had long hair, I always wanted to have it arranged on top of my head with the crown, like she had! Never got to, though ...

I had to go clothes shopping today before radiation. When I tried on some pants, I saw that I had dropped three sizes since I started treatments. Thanks goodness, there was a sale today!!!

She was so beautiful with those beautiful big eyes and her hair on top of her head.......I definitely wanted to be a princess like her !!!! xo The prince wasn't bad either !!! xo

I've been up all night (which is a common occurrence for me now that I'm on winter break) and I just realized how close we are to Christmas! It's crazy how quickly this year went by.

I was up all night working on Black Friday, I was talking to a coworker on Saturday about being in my early 20's, I use to work all day, stay out all night, go back to work without any sleep the next morning, and go back out until it was late before heading to bed. One night up all night has thrown me off so much. I still don't feel caught up.

Good morning everyone! What a busy awesome time of year! My friend came down this weekend. I haven't seen him for a year. Well what a awesome weekend too! The Hyde Park Santa Claus parade was on Saturday at 11am. He got to see that. As well it started snowing! Snowed for the weekend. We also watched The Santa Clause, A Christmas Story 2 and Polar Express. Holy Christmas! I loved it. He is a big Christmas fan too. It was a very good turn out for the parade too. But its monday again. 3 more weeks until MY Christmas Vacation. I cant wait. It wont come fast enough. Neighbors have put up lights now too. Those slow pokes hah! Well back to my coffee and bacon. It was one of the Big Events of my annual TV viewing when I was little---the others were "The Wizard of Oz" and "Cinderella" (the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical version). You youngsters don't know what it was like to wait to see "Rudolph" only once a year!

I'm here at the office with my lighted desktop tree to my left and my toy barn full of Rudolph characters to my right, and my little Merry Christmas pin on my sweater. I'm the only one who decorates around here, but someone always tells me how much they enjoy seeing my tree this time of year.

I remember in the 80's the anticipation for Rudolph once a year. The excitement really exploded when I saw this for all Christmas specials though:

Just a quick hello. This is the latest I have ever been at putting up the decorations. The problem is that I prefer to clean first, then put everything up. It takes longer, but that’s just the way I like to do things.

Good evening, Christmas family

Just getting ready to head to bed..........I watched The Most Wonderful Time of The Year on Hallmark and Now Debbie Macomber's Trading Christmas is on. I like it too. I love Debbie Macomber !

I forgot to say earlier I have still been on my diet. I have lost 14 of the 22 pounds I set out to lose. Just 8 more to go !!
