MIL's birthday was Dec. 13 and Hubby's is Sunday. Happy Birthday to LittleCS!
Happy birthday to your MIL and your hubby!

LittleCS has a cousin whose birthday is tomorrow. The funny thing is he was due the start of Dec and LCS was due the middle of Jan. You never know how things will turn out! Actually her arrival was totally the fault of Jean. At the time 3 of us were pregnant and due end of Dec and middle of January. She told us that she was praying one of us would deliver early since she needed a baby Jesus for her live town of Bethlem recreation. (whole basement of church transformed, complete with animals) So you can see why it is her fault LCS arrived a month early!

the gifts are packed for our family Christmas party tomorrow, made the cranberry orange sauce, got the snacks ready, the paper plates and cups are in the box. Bringing the Keurig as well as an assortment of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and apple cider for all to enjoy. Am I forgetting anything? Oh yeah, I need a $5 gift for our annual game of what are you going to get stuck with this year. We pick #'s and as they are pulled from a hat you get to pick a gift from the pile or if someone has opened something you like you can take it and they get to choose the next one. When done we draw #'s again and give everyone a second chance to get what they want. Lots of fun and laughs! I found a jack in the box that I will wrap and bring. It still works! Plays have yourself a merry little Christmas.

Anyway, going to bed, I have to work 10 to 4 and then pick up my mom and be at the party which is a 1/2 hour drive from here.

Have a good sleep every one.

Morning all

My heart and prayers go out to all those children and teachers killed in Connecticut, How someone could go into a school to kill innocent children and their teachers is beyond me! My heart goes out to all the victims families xxxx

Echoes my sentiments exactly. At times it's a crazy world we live in. Fortunately you will see, especially at Christmas the charity and voluntary work others do and the capacity for human kindness as well as wickedness.

CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY #33

Good Morning, Weekend Friends.
Yes, indeed.
Once again seven days have passed and the weekend has cycled back around.

But exciting as that is, we turn to this for even more amazement:
Days to Christmas Day: 10 (SINGLE DIGITS TOMORROW!!)
(Just let that sink in, now -- SINGLE DIGITS!!!)

A bit warmer yesterday and it should be warmer yet today, with no rain predicted.
It is 35 degrees here currently in the capital city.

You have a Sensational Saturday, Everyone!
And I hope and trust your Weekend is off to a Wonderous start.

wow, so close to Christmas! Love it!!

Big Christmas party at Sears today. They are giving away gift certificates, having carolers, all kinds of treats. I get to work there today by request of the store manager. It is going to be fun.

Now, I am going to get some breakfast and then clean out the van before I leave for work.

Lovemas....less than a week.....wow....

So, what's everyone doing today? Me, sitting here and watching ABC Family and some other specials. I'm sure at some point I'm going to go out and play outside, but just a lot of relaxing and hanging out with Wifey....

Got a party to go to tonight (Wifey's family), so looking forward to that...

But tonight, White Christmas comes on....can't wait to DVR and watch!

Like many of you, I can't stop thinking about what happened yesterday to those poor children and the adults in Connecticut. The sermon I delivered Sunday had to do with the fact that Good ultimately wins, and it was based around the words of one of my favorite Christmas songs, "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day." Yesterday, after hearing the news, and this morning, the lyrics of that song keep going through my mind...
And in despair I bowed my head: "There is no peace on earth," I said, "For hate is strong and mocks the song Of peace on earth, good will to men."
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep: "God is not dead, nor doth he sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail, With peace on earth, good will to men."

I am praying for everyone affected by this tragedy. I know how everything ends, and in the end evil fails...sometimes it seems like we're taking a while to get there, though. But, God is in control, and His timing is perfect.
Okay...sorry to preach! cheesy
And I'm praying for all of you...that you have a great Christmas season!

So funny! My oldest was born on December 22 and we were home from the hospital on Christmas Eve. He was 10 days "late." My daughter was born in June and she was the first live baby (at our church) in the Nativity that same Christmas. It was so special. The young kids were in awe with a real baby. Little CS really came early! I'll bet that was a surprise! But absolutely, blame Jean! LOL!!!

I like that gift exchange. We used to do that when teachers had a Christmas party. One year, I ended up with a black leather miniskirt! Hubby liked that one!

Both you and Claire Loves Christmas are right, 'Tis the Season. I'll bet there is no one who understands the why of the shooting. Incomprehensible. Yet, like you said, human kindness is part of what Christmas is all about.

Thank you, Ryan, for this post. xo

You are so right, Ryan. That is one of my favorite carols, too. As you probably know and like lots of songs, it was a poem (by Longfellow) that was then set to music. I think I have a recording of Burl Ives singing it, which is my favorite recording of that song. In his rendition, he really belts out the verse you quoted. Gives me chills!
