On the Today Show they are going to talk about how to combat Post Christmas Blues.
Yeah and I bet the dishes are stacking up too! I guess you meant to say someone needs to dig themselves into your house to wash them all! :lol:Umm, can someone come dig me out? I can't open my screen door. There is a 3 foot tall snow drift in front of it.
Okay I got the door open enough to stick my camera out.

I remember having a Thanksgiving like that. It was sleeting all day. Not sure if you remember the Cowboys game that was on in the 90's that it was sleeting at Texas Stadium on Thanksgiving Day? Well that day it knocked the power out and we were trying to set our tree up that night. It was actually kind of fun doing that with candle light and the sleet falling.Hey gang! Hope this finds everyone having enjoyed their Christmas day (it sure sounds like it). We had a blast! Slept in, opened gifts over at Mom's, ate lunch, had Christmas with the dogs, ate leftovers, and then around 7:30 last night, things started to get interesting. The winds, which had been blowing all day, picked up and we had sustained winds at about 30 mph. Then, at around 8:30, it started snowing and the lights went off. It was kinda fun because we were just sitting around in the dark with the candles burning and the fireplace going with the dogs all in the living room. It was a good time. We finally went to bed around 12:30, but the temp was already 60, so we knew it was going to be cold. We froze our rear-ends off! When I woke up at 6:30, the lights had just come back on and it was 48 in our house. Talk about cold! Now, things are finally warming back up. We got around 6 inches of snow and 1/2 of the town still doesn't have electricity, so here's hoping they all stay warm!
And I hope all of you stay warm, too!

bound to happen this time of the year, keep safe!Good Morning MMC!!!!! Umm, yeah there is a blizzard outside. I can't see anything out of my window and the winds are just howling. The worse of it has just moved in and it appears that it's going to stick around until mid afternoon. My mom and aunt both made it to work okay, so hopefully the worse of it will be over before it's time for them to come home. They both took extra clothes with them just in case. My aunt said she would just sleep on the couch in her office and my mom is about 3 blocks away from 3 major hotels. There is also a DOT garage a couple of miles down the street from her work. So the street to the hotels should be passable hopefully. I was going to go out and start shoveling but I think that is going to be a waste of my time right now. So I'll just sit here and enjoy my hot apple cider and watch the news. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
sounds like you had a wonderful day!I had already posted about our big Christmas Eve celebration with lots of family, food and fun. We also had our annual bingo game with scratch off lotto tickets and gag gifts as prizes. There is always a lot of laughter in the house, fun, fun and more fun! My 22 year old son started a tradition of making his (as we call it) Christmas Noodles. It's a recipe he makes with Ramen Noodles and it's a big hit that everyone has requested him to make. They are really good and inexpensive to make! We had a variety of other foods as well, not just noodles! =)
I got a kick out of my dad on Christmas Eve. My parents came over a little early and before company arrived and my dad asked if we had Frosty the Snowman and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas on DVD. Of course we do! Anyway, he sat down and watched both of them back to back by himself. I would have sat down with him but I was busy in the kitchen. He enjoys the voice of Jimmy Durante and Boris Karloff in those shows. And I wonder where I got my love for Christmas from???![]()
Christmas Day was a quiet one and very nice! Wayne and I started the morning opening gifts we got for each other then went to my job to feed all the animals. We came home laid around and watched Christmas shows on TV, played some Scrabble, ate lunch, laid around some more all while snow was falling. When it got dark Wayne and I got got in the car, stopped by 7/11 for some hot chocolate and drove around looking at Christmas lights with Christmas music blaring on the radio. Came home to watch more Christmas shows and was out by 9:30 pm. We have been running so much all week long that it was really nice just to relax on Christmas! We savored every second together and enjoying a beautiful White Christmas!
I have enjoyed all the Christmas stories from you so far and cannot wait to hear more!
I agree, the blues are real I used to have them real bad, mostly the years after my ex first left. Since finding these forums and spending time with all of you they have mostly gone. Now I focus on the wonderful memories of Christmas and what is to come.Beautifully said ... I had a few tears last night, and my tummy sinks when I think about the "outside world" abandoning the season, but reading posts like yours helps to give me enough backbone to keep the spirit burning until everyone else catches up with us again. The big hurdle is usually putting away the tree ornaments and dismantling the trees. (We're having a friend over on Jan. 5th, so they won't come down until after then.) And switching over to non-Christmas music on my MP3 players (to keep the music's magic fresh for next season---but I'll keep playing Christmas music through New Year's. After then, I'll add a little Hawaiian music and think about visiting Gloria again!)
That sounds like a perfect plan! I am so glad that there are still some Christmas movies on TV today!!! Have fun with the kids!Good morning, everyone! Hope you're day after Christmas is going well. Is still Christmas here for us and with be for awhile!
It is snowing here in Central Pa. We're supposed to get 4 to 8 inches. I am glad I'll be staying at home with the kids. W'ell be playing with new toys, watching Christmas movies, eating popcorn, etc.! DH has to work, so we'll be spending time together tonight.
I'm currently taking toys out of their boxes and trying to find spots to put everything. The kids are going nuts with everything they got. I just love seeing their faces with everything.
I will be back later to chat. Talk soon! God Bless and keep smiling!![]()

I am trying to figure out what to do today. No work, no babysitting, Wayne works today, snow on the ground and the temps are freezing outside. My spirits are better than expected, seeing that it's the day after Christmas. I think I should tackle a project here at the house. I know there is something around here that needs some organizing!
What does everyone else have planned for today???
All of you in the path of the snowstorm, stay safe. We're supposed to see a little here tomorrow night, but not anything near what some of you are expecting.
I'm trying to stay out of the way of the blues, but it's difficult when the rest of the world packs Christmas away and is content to ignore it for the next 11 months. Thank heaven there's a place like this where the candles keep burning and the bells keep ringing all through the year. It's difficult to go to bed on Christmas night, knowing how the world will be changed in the morning. But it'll be a good time to start on new projects that will make the next Christmas even brighter.
Amen!!! I find that having Christmas in my heart; keeps me warm on the inside all thru the year....
One of our very wise members---I'm ashamed to say I've forgotten who---said last year that Christmas is either here or on its way. That's what will keep me going in the coming weeks. Bless you all tonight and in the coming year.
