Ok the pool, back lot, hot tub, and tennis courts at the Pines are closed for the season... just an FYI..... I covered the pool and hot tub back in October... don't forget your special code to get in through the gate.

I was kind of bummed out last night, usually some tv channels (like TNT, TBS, AMC, etc...) will keep all the Christmas shows where you can watch them on demand for free. Year after year, I could go back up to a month after Christmas and they would still be there. Not this year, bam right after New Years, almost everything has been deleted that was Christmas related... for example I watched on TNT a Christmas Carol (with patrick stewart) on New years Day and yesterday; gone.... what a let down...

I said well, time to break out the DVD's as I sat back with a fire in the fireplace, blanket thron on my lap, while drinking a loaded eggnog.... Who said Christmas was over.....

Exactly right! I DVR'd Frosty, Rudolph, Santa, Polar Express and Christmas Vacation. (I somehow missed Charlie Brown, but I have it on DVD.) So, I'm setup for good TV for a while.

The good news is that I found another Santa yesterday-

Hmmm...I never thought of purchasing Christmas books for my iPad...Well, I do have A Christmas Carol but what are the names of some of your other books ??

I can suggest two that are free in iBooks:
"The Christmas Angel" by Abbie Farwell Brown
"The Romance of a Christmas Card" by Kate Douglas Wiggin

These are both vintage books, but I recommend them highly! And, what the heck, they're free!

I know exactly what you mean and that does make me kind of sad. I don't get to see my family very often either. We just had my dad's family Christmas on Sunday and I know some of you will remember me saying about it, probably 2 months ago or so, but my uncle had surgery because he was having urinary problems, bleeding and such - they thought maybe he had cancer, but we all thought he checked out okay, even my other uncle thought he had. My aunt just told us on Sunday he hadn't, that indeed he had cancer, but my uncle didn't want to tell anyone. It sounds like they got it all with the surgery, which is a blessing, but this is how I feel when you don't always see each other and get to be as close, things are, that is what really makes me sad I think.

Oh and for those that are getting the Christmas blues, Carl has done something special! Heck its special for everyone! He is pulling an after Christmas, Christmas party! Complete with egg nog and the Christmas vacation moose mugs. He has Christmas movies running all day and the music is cranked. Hot chocolate, candy cane chocolate and more!

Now that sounds like a party I would not want to miss !!!! xo:rudolph:

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I had a lazy day yesterday, lazier than I meant for it to be. I wanted to go over to my brother's shop to work on the car, but Nancy & the kids talked about going bowling instead. I waited till late afternoon until I realized they had changed their minds, and I had wasted the day watching TV. Maybe next weekend I can get something done on the car.

No PCBs so far, thank goodness. I didn't even mind coming back to work.

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's freezing here in central Indy!!!! We currently stand at 7 degree's on our way to a high in the low 20's. Brrrrr. Of course by the end of next week they are talking about high's in the 60's. I have a lot to do today but I don't know how much I'll get done. I really shouldn't have stayed up until 4am watching Christmas movies on hallmark. The Santa Suit is one of my favorites though and I hadn't seen it all the way through this season. Well I'm off to do the dishes and I have any energy left I'm going to start packing up my Santa's. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

We started the day at 10 degrees here ! I loved The Santa Suit as well and I FORGOT to DVR it !!! Dang.......:-?

You no i think your right . or as well think a lot of people just cant get into it and love to see it over. most have heard that today in the shop 3 times "glad its over" i could have hit them lol

Ahhh.. woken up on day 2 of the new year with 2 sick kiddos... We have been snuggling on the couch all AM. I took a few things down just because I wanted to clean a bit but my tree is still up, lights are up around the house and outside for at least another week or two and my snowmen remain up for quite some time! And my little 3 ft tree is up and light and seasonally decorated all year! I'm just enjoying picking up odds and ends at 50+% off now...

I hear you guys taking about familys at christmas .. well my 2 brothers live all within a mile of me. and the only time i hear from them is when something is wrong or they are looking something..
At christmas i never get a card from them , take this year, i never got a happy christmas text even but on boxing day one of them texted did i have a pair of wellingtons, truth i never answered him. the other one did text christmas evening wondering if i was having a drink , just texted back i was tired
New year one did text the other did,nt but texted new years day could i lend them money
You have to laugh but it does not really bother me , we just to be so close as kids, after mum and dad died it was only us , but once they got married especially the yougest one they changed so much, but funny god sent me good friends to replace them
