Christmas Countdown - 2013

A little something for all those with the sneezes, coughs, flu, stomach bug, or whatever ...

I know I have taken pictures of this tree in the past but it never came out as well as the one taken on The Galleria Mall's facebook page. It's the country's tallest indoor Christmas Tree and Wayne and I go every Black Friday to watch the ice skating show. This year we were in San Antonio on Black Friday but we did go to one of the shows on a Saturday in December. We go to this mall throughout the year as well. I thought this picture was impressive so I thought I would share. If you notice the 4 floors crowded with people? Yes, it's this crowded every year for the show. We usually get there a couple of hours early to grab a spot or you miss out!

All I can say is ... wow!

A s someone said it asonly 50 more fridays to christmas does not seen that long well does it ~}
The weather is nice over here at the moment, mild with some rain ,
Took some more decor down today outside but still have lots still up i hate it !!
Bit of a saddness round our town today a young lad of 23 hung himself this morning just above my road at the football pitch . another guy found him about 6 this morning, he and his girlfriend fell out 5 weeks ago and he was so cut up about it, i no the mum and dad and the lad himself and the brother, i really dont no how am gonna go to the wake,
Other than that the shop is busy,
Hope all that is down with flu,s and colds, and everything else feels a bit better

Praying for you and everyone involved. I've went through this myself before and it's such a tragedy for everyone involved. How sad.

Just dropping in to say a quick hello.

I read about the sadness in your town Shellie. I am so sorry! Suicide is always so awful for everyone left behind. So many "what if's" - I'll keep you all in my prayers.

Friends are coming over tonight for stitch & b*tch! We are going to work on craft projects (afghan for me) & chit chat & have snacks & drinks. Looking forward to it.

Hope you all have a fun weekend planned. I have to fly...cleaning to do... :lol:


Quick note before I go...2 days ago when I last logged on, we were on page 37... now it's 65!!! What a bunch of chatty people!!! :grin: LOVE IT!!!

Good early morning everyone!! I just had to get up with snowball..I think his bladder infection has come back...I have called the vet and he is going to see him first thing in the morning..Vet said he may need surgery..please keep him in your prayers..I don't know what I would ever do without my ball!!!

Awwwww....Of course I will pray for the baby xo

Hey Shellie! Yep he has always always been good about doing his business outside but all of a sudden he is going inside and it has blood in it...so the dr put him on 2 rounds of antibiotics and it's still has not cleared up..he said bladder surgery would be next to remove the "stones"...we have to bring in another urine sample in the morning and have it looked at..wish us luck!!

Oh my......That poor furkid ! He must be having lots of pain (((HUGS))) for Snowball xo

been sleeping ok...going to do some housework...just a little...and then play with Kandice....some Playmobil, some Legos, some board games and some Wii....and watch some NCIS

Last night after I got home from work, I knew the gals in the family were planning on going out shopping, so my son and I went out to dinner. Nothing special, we down to the local VFW post that I am a life member at (you can get a complete dinner; say a half a chicken with 2 sides for 6.95; what a bargain) and we just sat and talked for awhile.

When we got home, I got out of the truck and stopped and looked around the neighborhood and my home was the only house (for as far as I could see), that still had their Christmas lights on. I shook my head and went into the house with a sad feeling and a thought to myself, that I was a shame that so many people cannot wait untill they can take their lights down.

I sometimes feel that the true meaning of Christmas has long been forgotten, repalced with just the necessity of buying and receiving gifts, and in some cases, thinking of only themselves.... I do realize that time is marching on into the month of January, and it does cost additional money to leave the lights on longer (I truely understand and expect a utility bill of 600.00 in the mail). But I myself, want to hold onto Christmas for as long as I can and if I can express my love for something in such a manner, then I ask this; "Is it worth it?" To me, it is.....

I agree...I would leave everything up all year if I could. It is definitely worth it to me too. You really ought to think of starting a blog here on MMC !! xo

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's still cold here in Central Indy but not as bad as it was the last couple of days. In fact we have already passes the high from yesterday. I think I'm starting to come down sick again. I fell asleep at 9:30 last night. That's just not normal for me and today I just feel kind of blah. So my plan for today is to load up on antibotics so it doesn't get any worse. I also need to set down and make out a grocery list and head to the store this afternoon. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Real life is back ... I'm trying to get documentation that will allow me to fly back home with Dad's ashes to Maryland for burial. I don't have the required documentation because the embezzling executor who had to be removed didn't pass it along to the current executor. I have to get a lawyer to try to get it for me. Hoping this will be a fairly easy request, so we can all finally put this fiasco behind us and lay him to rest back home.

At least it's Friday! I'll try to put this out of my mind over the weekend.

Yes, I think it is a cold, but I am not 100% sure. I know she got a flu shot, but she told me the other day, that the flu vaccine is not protecting alot of people, because they got the shot and they still contracted the flu.

Since she works in the Labs at two hospitals, (she does the testing for flu and such) she told me that there are so many sick people coming into the hospital, that the hospital/ ER, is giving people the test, left and right. Which with so many samples coming into the lab, they are just being crushed. She told me that the flu tests that are coming up positive, some of the positve results/ strains were not in the flu shots that they were giving out this year. She said they are all over the map and that the general public can go to the CDC web site and see that for themselves.

Must be a particularly virulent form of the flu.....great...:x I hope your wife feels better though !!!

So glad it's the weekend! I thought I would be relaxing tonight, but it sounds like we're going out to dinner with DH's parents now. Oh well. I guess I will relax later on, if I make it that late!

What is everyone's plans for the weekend? We're going out to dinner with a couple that is our best friends tomorrow, then Sunday, we will be taking the Christmas decorations down.
