You are definitely in our thoughts and prayers, Jennifer!

Well, I need to go to the doctor for two things now. They were able to squeeze me in this afternoon. Luckily they said that they are advising flu patients over the phone and are not allowing them into the office. Hopefully I get some good news, keep me in your thoughts! I have to finish getting ready and get out of here soon.

I think we need a road trip to Sugar's for dinner. It sounds so delicious! What is your recipe for crockpot lasagna?

Good day, all. I know it's been a day or two since I've checked in, so there goes my New Years resolution out the window. So much for that! I've just been really busy!

I had jury duty yesterday and I didn't get picked - thank goodness! I did my civil duty. I also had a meeting at work, right after, so I had to rush there. It was a busy day to say the least. DH did take us out to dinner though, so that made it all worth while!

I just found out today, a day before my test, now the postponing it. I am not very happy about it, since I have been studying so hard, but I guess I will soon be finding out when I will be taking it. I won't get into all of the issues on here, but needless to say, the book I was studying from, was an outdated one and there was new ones, which the info was changed. None of us got them and people failed because of it yesterday and this was because our nurse manager. I will just leave it at that. It's been very frustrating lately. I hope something is done soon.

Anyway, EA is at preschool today, so DH, DS, and I have just been having out. I am going to read a book here shortly. I am doing lasagna in the crockpot and Parmesan zucchini fries, plus breadsticks. I can't wait!

I will check back in later! Hope you're all having a great day!

WOW! That is surely something!

Today is the 94th anniversary of the Great Molasses Flood in Boston.

On January 15, 1919, a tank holding over 2 million gallons of molasses burst, sending a 30-foot wave of molasses down the street. 21 people and several horses were killed, and many structures were damaged. Molasses was waist-deep in areas.

Local tradition says that on a warm day, you can still smell molasses in the North End.

Yay!!!!! :???::???:

Just a quick hello friends! I just got home from a long day and have to head right back out to get some milk and a few other items and of course our dinner...We tend to eat out school nights now which is fine with me. It's so easy to keep the kitchen clean that way! Now on the weekend we still cook and all. Well it looks like we have another day of 80F weather before we cool down. It looks like snow is already in Arkansas and Miss and La. is getting sleet and ice. Of course we are getting rain but we desperately need that! Okay I may be back later tonight... I have to decide what I want tonight to eat...talk to yall later!

Oh and Seawaters: contrats on your retirement!!! I know you are so excited about it! And Feb1st is not far away at all! it's just around the corner...I would imagine as a teacher retirement is bittersweet. My grandmother was an elementary English teacher for 34 years and after she retired she would talk about the "olddays" teaching and I remember her old students as adults were always coming up to her everytime I took her somewhere in town.. I bet your students are going to hate seeing you leave though... enjoy your retirement you sure deserve it!

Seawaters, you and your husband need to apply for Bobby Flay's new show, Bobby 's dinner battles.

Agree on this one for Seawaters, big congrats, but of course there will be some bittersweet feelings on ending this career. I remember my students well over the years- full time teacher for 3 years, subbed for 17 more. It is a very special profession indeed. How lucky would a student be to have Seawaters as a teacher...one can only imagine!

Long day already.

Thanks for sending good thoughts!

The doctor is pretty confident that I broke my rib and I am on antibiotics for something else. Hopefully the medicine works!

I bruised ribs once, very painful. A break must be very sore. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm glad everything's working out for you Seawaters, good luck with it. Xmas365 I know how you feel. Taking the tree down day is horrible. Just start planning Christmas 2013! Good night folks.

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!
I had a great checkup with the cardiologist! The ticker is ticking away just fine, cholesterol is perfect, blood pressure is perfect...and I'm 35 lbs lighter. Nice!/QUOTE]

Good to hear keep up the good work

My parents have had several good days and we are thankful for that. We will drive back down this weekend to visit with them

Glad to hear both still doing good enjoy your visit

Seems like you could outrun a molasses wave. Especially January in Boston, where it's bound to be cold outside.

You would think so! But the previous day was exceptionally warm for January ... rather like it was in Boston yesterday. There's an entire book about the tragedy called "Dark Tide" that's pretty interesting---especially because there are photos of the aftermath.
