Thinking of you, Sugar, as you battle this horrible bug. Please take care!

Good afternoon, everyone. Just wanted to stop in quick, so you know that all is well, well sort of...ha.

I have caught the nasty bug that most of America seems to have. This cold is really running me down. I have no energy what-so-ever. I am thankful that it is my weekend off and DH is here to me take care of the kids. I just feel like I've been hit by a bus.

I know I've missed a lot on here. If I've missed anything super important, someone please PM or message me on Facebook. It would be greatly appreciated. I will try to stop back later, but I can't promise anything! Who knows how I will feel then!

Miss all of you. God Bless and thinking and praying for each an everyone of you!

I definitely agree. And I also know that we learn from others, from their mistakes and their successes. Thanks for sharing as you go through this process!

You know something, your right! During the transfer process last night, I discovered that with the oldest vcr tapes that I was transferring the old home movies from, they were really starting to degrade. With the colors turning a reddish hue and also grainey, then I got to thinking about things a bit, back then, when my son was born, 1992, my father-in-law had a old style vhs camera (the one whith the tape inside it). I would surmize then, (since he's an "el cheapo", a nice guy, but cheap) he most likely used vhs tapes that he had recorded on, over and over again that he most likely bought in the 80's....

I'm glad I decided to do this now, and discovered this, before we lost any movies of my son as a baby. This is a point made, where all things are meant to be for some reason or another, don't you agree....

Oh, by the way, the first vhs tape transfer - a six hour process! I got done at 3 am last night; another lesson learned to start earlier in the day... lol

What time should we arrive?

I don't like dill pickles at all, but luckily Hubby does; so we had some in stock. This particular jar was the garlic ones. I had a little that remained in the glass the next morning. I told Hubby to smell it because I didn't want him to think I had been drinking Chardonnay during the night!!! He was afraid to smell it at first because he said he thought it was a science experiment!!! Was it Brad that told us about the pickle juice remedy?

Are you having a good Saturday? We're heading out for a walk soon, and are thinking of having a British film show downstairs tonight. We have some DVDs of British films that we haven't seen yet. I could brew up some tea and have a jolly old time!

Ouch! I empathize. I've had a few so bad that I couldn't straighten my leg enough to walk. I've jumped out of bed yelling a few times with those things. The pickle juice is a good tip. Neither of us eats pickles, but it might be worth buying a jar just to keep the juice handy! Happily, I haven't been bothered with them recently.

This looks and sounds so yummy! I have done potatoes and turnips before, but I think I will try it with spinach!

good afternoon!

I am having a quiet day, baked a batch of buns made a pan of stamppot boerenkool.

I have to leave for work at 4:30 but will need some chocolate before then!

When I read the first three lines, I thought that this had happened several times. How does it affect you personally?

Snow squall watch for
Stratford issued

Strong potential for local snow squalls tonight and Sunday.

Cold strong westerly winds gusting to 80 or 90 km/h moving over the Great Lakes tonight will very likely generate local snow squalls with visibilities reduced to less than 250 metres in snow and blowing snow.

This is the 3rd one we have had this year and still have little to no snow to show for it. So we will just have to wait and see what this one produces!

Oh, my, Dawg!!! Brandi is right. Take care and REST!

hello everyone! Brandi will be furious with me if she catches here as I promised I would get some sleep. This morning I accidently chopped part of my middle finger off with a buzz saw and yes my eyes watered up. We went to the ER and they gave me a shot of the gooooood stuff. Man it was like heaven.! Then Brandi handed them the tip of my finger but they were not able to sow it back on.

They then gave me a prescription of this stuff(don't remember the name except it starts with a ;"d"..lord have mercy I shoulde not even be online.I hope everyone is having a better weekend than me...please excuse my ewrrors. At this ppoint I am seeing doubnle! Good nite!!!

Well... Officially took the outside Christmas decorations down today, boooo. I hated to do it, but the sun was out and the temp was near 50 today, so I figured I'd take advantage of it before the snow moves in this week. Think I'll console myself with one of the Christmas beers that I have stashed for a special occasion.

Beautiful! What did you order?

I am not ready for winter to be over yet but today was a perfect sunny warm day that we took advantage of. It nearly hit 70 degrees so we went to the lake for a walk then just sat on a bench chilling out by the lake, looking at the ducks, boats and chatted. It was busy out there with people roller blading, boating, jogging, biking, walking and more.

We then headed over to one of my very favorite restaurants for lunch, that serves Indian food, it has a beautiful outdoor seating. I have been eating at this restaurant for over 20 years and Wayne was introduced to it about 9 years ago.

Here is a picture of the courtyard at the restaurant that I found online:

That actually happened with a classmate in Home Ec in the 60s. She was not familiar with cooking utensils and thought it was okay to use a rubber spatula in a skillet.

Seawaters, great prize with that slightly melted spatula!!! I bet it was used in The Greasy Skillet! :D

Cute photo! Love the decorations, too!

Good evening/morning Christmas family

I was so tired last night I went to bed at 9....Now I am wide awake and it is 2:38 in the morning !! I had to come to my favorite place, my second home, and check in !!

My sister and I had a wonderful time yesterday at the movie. We saw The Hobbit. I must confess I am not sure how much I liked it. Having read the book and also the Lord of The Ring Trilogy which are all quite charming and intended to be CHILDREN'S BOOKS, I was quite turned off by all the violence in it. The books talked of war and such but NOTHING graphic. In my opinion there is just too much dang violence in movies these days especially in films that are supposed to be based on children's stories. I was very disappointed in that regard. There were parts of it that still retained their charm but the violence and disgusting parts were way over the top to me.

I think I am finally sleepy again so I am going to try and get a few winks before morning....I really need to work today and I am hoping there is work in the system..I checked yesterday and there was none...Starting to get just a little worried...

Take care Christmas family xxoxo
