Christmas Countdown - 2013

Good evening/morning Christmas family
I was so tired last night I went to bed at 9....Now I am wide awake and it is 2:38 in the morning !! I had to come to my favorite place, my second home, and check in !!
My sister and I had a wonderful time yesterday at the movie. We saw The Hobbit. I must confess I am not sure how much I liked it. Having read the book and also the Lord of The Ring Trilogy which are all quite charming and intended to be CHILDREN'S BOOKS, I was quite turned off by all the violence in it. The books talked of war and such but NOTHING graphic. In my opinion there is just too much dang violence in movies these days especially in films that are supposed to be based on children's stories. I was very disappointed in that regard. There were parts of it that still retained their charm but the violence and disgusting parts were way over the top to me.
I think I am finally sleepy again so I am going to try and get a few winks before morning....I really need to work today and I am hoping there is work in the system..I checked yesterday and there was none...Starting to get just a little worried...

To kick off that possibility we present this, without commercial interruption:
Days to the Season: 297
Days to Christmas Day: 339
The 1/4 Season mark is a-coming, Guys. Three weeks from the day after tomorrow, to be precise.
(Can the 2nd of 4 quarters really be that close at hand?)
Well, through the magic that can only come from the Christmas Season count, that is not only possible, it's definite!
We continued chilly yesterday (albeit with more sun) but the really cold weather (possibly teens) is just ahead!
It is 43 degrees here, currently.
Have a Super Sunday, Folks!

I will have to dig up some of the pictures when I was a kid, the snow was up to the roof line and drifts were taller than us. The plow would push the snow off the road and it would go half way up the hydro poles.
Now we are lucky if we get enough to cover the ground and occasionally a few snow banks made by the plows.
borenkool is Dutch for Kale, stamppot boerenkool is mashed potatoes with chopped cooked kale and rookworst sausage sliced and all mixed together. Great on a cold winter day.

Sorry about your accident. Possibly hurting my hands has always scared me. I can't imagine how I would feel if I couldn't play guitar anymore. I hope it doesn't prevent you from doing anything you like!
Thanks, CS. We did just fine here, no power outages Thank God. It's -2, but the high winds have died down for the most part. They kept me up most of the night, so I see a nap in my future!

It's a beautiful morning here in Bellville. There's some kind of bird chirping away outside the kitchen window. It sounds like spring!
I did a little work yesterday on my part-time busness, then I went to my brother's shop to spray some glossy black paint under the hood before we put the engine in.
After that, we picked up my mom and went to the mall in Statesboro. I've lost so much weight lately that I needed new jeans...:???:!
I'm trying to get the family up for church, while nursing my second cuppa coffee.

Congratulations on the weight loss !!! I am so happy for you!! It is a GREAT feeling to go into a different size of pants as long as they are smaller !! I just did that myself ! Down from a 7 to a 5 !!!!!!!

Poor thing kept running for the door, Every time that I took her out… I think she's getting used to the cold, not that she's crazy about it, but the wind was so loud that it scared her! And it was blowing around icy snow that kept hitting us in the face. She wanted no part of it
