You are right about flipping the calendar. I am amazed at how quickly this new year is passing already. Of course this summer, it will seem to slow down for me! Enjoy the game.

Good morning everyone!

Another weekend has past and we're nearing the end of the first month of 2013. It was an enjoyable weekend here in Ottawa. Kim and I managed to stay in on Friday and then met with some friends on Saturday night. It was good times. Yesterday was spent mostly cleaning and (for me) doing homework.

It looks like we could be in for a treat today. We should receive about 5cm of snow this afternoon. The rest of the week won't be pretty either. Rain and freezing rain - and lots of it! That's for Tuesday and Wednesday. We'll see how that turns out.

I don't think we have many plans for this week. A friend informed me that due to our running of a local rink, we were given free tickets for the Ottawa Senators and Washington Capitals game tomorrow night. I'm a fan of neither team, but it should be an entertaining game to watch.

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is looking forward to the next as well. It will be nice to flip the calendar on Friday!

What did you end up ordering? You should have left a card for Bernie's!!!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

I haven't slept well this weekend, and now I'm tired & my eyes are burning. The coffee isn't even helping much. Ain't it a shame when, at 9:30 am, you're looking forward to going to bed tonight? LOL

We took my former boss out for dinner Saturday night to a fancy restaurant. You have to understand that I'm a country boy, so Olive Garden is about a fancy as I can stand, but this place had a dress code, and offered only 6 entree choices. Among these choices was roast duck in some kind of wine sauce, and of all things, ratatouille. My kids loved hearing about that since we've seen the Disney/Pixar movie a hundred times.

Anyway, I left there and went to a new coffee shop that competes with Starbucks here in the southeast, called Elliano's. Good cuppa joe! Dawg, I think there's one in Valdosta, too.

Well, ...*yawn*...I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Time for work. Woke up to just a little frost this morning. No snow, of course. Will be online right after school.

CM3, be strong; don't give in when you know in your heart you are right. PM me!!!

Yes, we've seen that one! Someone gave us this box set of Harold Lloyd a few years ago for Christmas---I don't think we've seen everything in it yet. I'm more of a Keaton fan, myself.

When I lived in Maryland, the downtown movie house that was built in 1926, the Tivoli, had a working theater organ. They used to show a few silent films a year accompanied by the organ. I used to write the pieces that went in the newspaper telling about the films that would be shown. There was a special thrill in seeing a silent film with the organ in a theater where these films were shown for the first time.

Keaton was good, too. I prefer Lloyd, Keaton, then Chaplin last (of the "Big Three). But, even today, Chaplin seems to get the most attention.
The Tivoli sounds great! I wish there was something like that in my area. It's rare any classics play on the big screen around here.

You are always so astounding when it comes to so many things !!! I get that documentary is very good !! xoxo

I watched the documentary on Youtube, but it is up in three parts rather than in its entirety, and I'm not sure if it was complete. I would love to see it from start to finish...what I saw was great!

It is so true what is said around here..."if you do not like the weather just wait a bit, it will change!"

This was about 8am this morning

Looks like several of you are sick (flu and other stuff) and I hope you all get feeling better for a great Monday!

The temp here in Oklahoma is supposed to be 75 today! Yesterday was about 70 I think (kids got to go outside).

Girl Scout cookie season has started and some folks are selling them at work. Why must I give into the sweet, seductive siren song of the thin mints every year? The thin mints is a demanding mistress, but each year I find myself back in her arms.

Oh well, there goes the diet. Happy Monday, everyone.

Wayne got me a bike! It looks like a little girls bike for grown ups, It's got flowers all over it and I love it! As quoted from Elf, "It's very purpley"! It's strange that I had a dream a few nights ago about riding around on a purple bike, though I was not looking for that color, then see one the next day that I liked. The first one I saw was at Walmart and it was purple. I liked it but decided to check out Academy before making a final decision. Then I came across this one at Academy that has gears, the other did not have gears and I really wanted that feature. It happened to be purple as well! I love the cruiser style bikes, they are old timey type and just more comfortable to me. I took it for a ride yesterday and for a short time this morning.

I plan to get a child's seat so my granddaughter can go riding with me.

Wayne and I decided that the bikes will be our Valentine presents to each other. He will get one in a couple of weeks. I doubt his will be purple with flowers on it. Ha ha!

I think I will decorate it for Christmas by adding battery operated Christmas lights and add a wreath on the back.

I will be back later today to catch up! I gotta run right now!!!

Not sure if my bike showed up. The picture looks way too small to me.

Here is larger picture.

IIRC, it was a three-parter. I haven't seen it in a while.
