Brrr...it's so cold outside!! 6 degrees, windy, with wind chills reaching -25. In fact, they just put a wind chill advisory out for our area. So, I'm turning on the fireplace, cuddling with Harlowe, and starting some Cold Case Files from Netflix. I love listening to Bill Kurtis, he's got such a mesmerizing voice.

Have a great night!!

I love Bill Kurtis too.....In fact, I got into watching American Justice because he was narrating it one afternoon.....

It's Pines Day....we are 1/2 way through the week and I'm going to get a Christmas movie out this weekend to celebrate Rudolph day (even though it's next Monday). Plus, it will be racing non-stop at Daytona.....I can't wait.

Good Morning, Mid-Week Wishful Wanters of Whistful Wassail Wonders.

But, is it too early to get whistful about the approach of Christmas Season 2013?
Well, you be the judge:
Days to the Season: 266
Days to Christmas Day: 308
One week from tomorrow, Folks -- the 300-day mark to Christmas Day.
Then, 200's all around!

Warmer yet yesterday but it is not to last. Colder weather just around the corner.
It was wet yesterday, too. At least it is supposed to be dry for the next several days.
We are at 31 degrees here right now.

Well, it's wonce again Wednesday.
<< "wonce", Crown?? >>
Well.......

Anyway, it's Shispering Pines time, Friends!
What will Carl have planned?
Will there be a good batch of fired twinkies?
Will the tea be sweet?
Who will win the camel-themed jewelry door prizes?
All these questions and more will be answered this evening at the weekly open house hosted by the craziest camel west of Sahara.
Be there.

And have a Wonderful Wednesday, too!

I'm home, I'm actually home! I got here on prayer because there is no other way I could have made it. Followed that little line on the side of the road when I was able to see it, almost total whiteout conditions. Snowing like crazy, unploughed road. Me and a car following me went slow...30 - 40 km/hr. A couple of times I know I went off track, thank the Lord He was watching over me!
Piles of snow, fluffy snow. I will appreciate how nice it looks in the morning.

I'm glad that you made home safe and sound. Someone was watching out for you and my son as well last night....My son had a spinout yesterday evening while driving on a three lane main highway. Someone slammed on their brakes, he hit his and lost control of his car. He went uncontrollably over three lanes one way and then again back over three lanes again the other way, regained control of his car and never hit a thing, or anyone else or never went off the road.... THANK THE LORD!!!!

Someone was watching out for him for sure...He got home and he was still shaking from the ordeal! He's 20, and he stayed home last night, he was too shook up. Here's the bizarre part, that road he was on, is a main/ major road, how he didn't hit another car or the guard rails it's unbelievable. He said Dad, all the cars on the side and rear of him stopped and he was able to regain control of the car... I believe that his Guardian Angel was watching out for him....

yikes! So glad he is ok, that is even scarier than my drive. Even at only 40km/hr (24ml/hr) I wondered if I would stay on the road.

Thank God he's ok, xmastidings. How terrifying. I agree, he had his guardian angel watching over him. Give him an extra hug today!! And hugs to you, too, Dad.

He has one of those old-school-announcer voices.

Very scary stuff. That's why I'm nervous about driving on snow or ice. When I was in my teens I spun out on an overpass, but like your son, I didn't hit anything, I was just terribly shaken. I was on my way to work, but I turned around on the next exit and went home. People in this state drive like idiots in snowy, icy weather---that's my other reason for wanting to stay off the roads during winter storms.

Everybody stay safe out there on the winter roads! I worry about you.

Good morning everyone.

I hope everyone had a great long weekend... If you were lucky enough to have Monday off - that is. I was not scheduled to have Monday off, however, two very close friends were getting married on Sunday afternoon/evening. It was a wonderful ceremony and reception. I could not be happier for them! In preparation for a late night, I took yesterday off. As mentioned, it was Family Day in Ontario, but federal government employees do not get Family Day off, so I had to call in.

Anyway, sorry for my disappearance for a week or so. Bad news is that I didn't get the full time position. Good news is that my grandmother is now out of the hospital and feeling better. It did not seem to be going well for a few days, but she pulled through and returned to her seniors' home.

It's great to see the countdown to 300 is in single digits! There are less than 10 days until the end of February. March is coming up quick! Well, have a great Tuesday, everyone! The 'Pines is open tomorrow... I can only wonder the plans of Carl. That camel is probably scratching his head and pondering how to celebrate being between holidays and (somewhat) between seasons!

Great news about your grandmother!

I just got a call from NoFrills for a second interview!!!

It would be nice to get this job as then I would not have to go out of town any more for work.

Congratulations on the second interview - I so hope you get the job!

I just got a winter weather advisory alert on my phone for Thursday night through Friday night. 6-8 inches of snow with sleet and freezing rain. Yikes. Of course, I have a day full of appointments on Friday!! :/

Yikes is right! Stay safe!!!
