Good morning,

I am home and done with my errands until my Dr. appt. Pot roast is in the crockpot no scents wafting from it yet but I am sure it will be soon. I am just resting now, watching UFO Hunters, I hate aliens, but I can't stop watching shows about them, go figure. 4 of my 5 cats are on the couch with me they are also resting from a long night of running around the house.

Enjoy your Tuesday, we are another day closer to Christmas!

stay safe & warm Merrycarey! you are 1 of my favorite peeps girly!

Aw, you made me blush ... thank you.

I better get more info on this storm, I have totally ignored the weather for the last week.

They can't tell yet whether we'll be getting mostly rain or mostly snow. Keep an eye on the forecast as it develops. If it's snow, they say there'll be more to the west.

It was so nice last weekend not to have to scheduled errands around a snowstorm, as he had for the past three weeks!

What did you end up doing? You were way too quiet!!!
Both nights I fell asleep on the couch trying to watch Nacho Libre on Netflix. LOL

Oh Man, I thought for a minute that you were going to say your going to be in a rattlesanke round-up; lol! That is one thing that I always wanted to try and that is fried rattlesnake. I had my first bite of gator the last time I went to Florida (Orlando - Gatorland), and I loved it! So, next on my list is rattlesnake, anything that they say taste just like chicken, I'm all over it like a wet cheap suit....lol

It used to be a Rattlesnake Roundup, but they never cooked any there. I haven't tried rattlenake, either, but gator tail is pretty good. :-D

does your Mom still have to go to work when it's that bad?

Yep. They don't close anything expect schools around here unless the mayor declares a state of emergency. The good thing is that she is working 9 to 6 this week instead of 7 to 4. So if the snow does end by 4 am like they are saying, the roads shouldn't be to bad in the morning.

Good Tuesday morning everyone. Looking to forward to the coming snow storm. We are forecast to get 6-9 inches but I am hoping for 2 feet. Snow forecast are difficult in the NC mountains, because of elevations one area can get lots of snow while just a couple of miles away they get very little. When we were looking for a home, I tried to find one that got the most snow. We live on the northwest slope of Stecoah mountain and usually get more snow than most of the surrounding county. We get very little direct sun, only a couple of hours a day this time of the year, so once it snows it stays a while.

We will have to park at the bottom of the mountain and walk up. Like I've said before, I love it but the wife doesn't. Also, there are no snow plows outside the city so we get to enjoy it longer.

I guess you can tell I'm a little excited for the storm. Looking forward to more time of sitting by the fireplace and eating snow cream. We will probably lose power but that is fine too. We will fill one of the bath tubs up with water tonight to use in the toilet, (no power means no well water).

Have a blessed, safe day everyone.
That all sounds wonderful!

Well, except for the part about no water. I'd have to have a generator to run the well and the TV. :D

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's overcast again, but it's about 60°. I have to leave work at noon to take Elizabeth to her dentist appointment, and Jacob to his guitar practice. I'll use the time in between appointments to peruse the pawn shops for guns. I've had a hankering for a 9mm, but I'm not paying Glock's price for a new one. And my mom has shown an interest in a small, self-protection gun to keep with her when she travels alone. I told her I'd help her find one, but she has to enroll in the gun safety classes they offer nearby. They teach them safe handling, and they make them shoot lots of rounds, but ammo is getting super scarce.

I told her she'd then be a pistol-packin' Mama!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Tell him I'll send him the paperwork to sign, if he's lost his copy. cheesy

I need to get one. The well is a 220 line so it would not be cheap. We've learned to be prepared. We cook on a propane stove we use for camping and have water stored away. It can be fun for a little while. Four days is the longest we've gone without power since we lived here.

I love my G30 but my buddy has a smith and wesson SD9 and it's a nice gun. The trigger pull is just a little to long for me. If I shot it all the time I would probably get used to it though.

I hardly ever take my pistol shooting anymore because it is almost impossible to get ammo and when you do it costs an arm and a leg. If I want to go shooting I take my .22 and it is even getting hard to find the 500 round boxes of it.

I've had a Glock model 23 (.40) for years now and I love it. Do alot of target shooting with it. Your right, the ammo is not cheap. I just purchased at the end of last year, a brand new Remmington model 1911 R1 centennial; (see attached link):

IT IS SWEET!!!! firing that, it makes you want to sing; "I've got the power...." - I love it...

Next, on my list is either an AR-15, M-4 or a 357....

An AR-15 is next on my list too. I have a cousin in PA that used to shoot one competitively. He placed 2nd in the nation in his last year of eligibility as an youth. Unfortunately he was killed in an ATV accident before he ever got to compete as an adult.

Good afternoon, Christmas family !

All of the news stations calling this a Heart Attack snow isn't really making me look forward to this.
