(this was given to us when my dad was fighting cancer)

Sadly, it CAN kill friendships ... It's one hard way to find out who your true friends are. Several of my (now former) friends stopped calling, returning calls, and answering letters during my two bouts with the beast. The same thing happened to my mom years before when she was fighting it. It was before the Internet and personal computers were in wide use, so it was a lonely and painful experience. It's a great blessing to have a husband and friends now who wouldn't withdraw if there's ever a recurrence. I got through those times only through the grace of God.

I apologize for the "outburst," but just had to come out with it. I'm just so grateful that you are not the type to quietly disappear when support is needed. Yes, it's awkward and painful to be around someone with cancer and not know what to say or how to help. But at least you can BE there. Just that much is powerful medicine.

There on limitations with the Tapatalk, with the iPad. I don't know if I've ever got an update for it, since if I've got mi iPad. Hopefully they will got it figured out soon.

I don't think it's a bug---because Tapatalk is a pared-down version of the forum platform, they decided to leave some stuff out. The snowballs are fun, but it's a small loss for the ability to read and post on iPad.

Good to know. Thanks.

what a gloriously sunny but chilly day we have here!

I was up for awhile and then crawled back into bed and just got up again about 1/2 hour ago. Need to be at work by 4:30, hoping for a slow night.

Tomorrow is my first training day with NoFrills.

You will do wonderful, Christmasstar - have fun with your training!!

Good afternoon, MMC!

:hi:

I know, it is a hard way to find out who your friends really are. I have walked through the whole cancer thing with a few friends and watched them also be abandoned by others. But true friends will not leave when you need them no matter how hard the battle becomes.

Good afternoon, Meceka! How is your day going?

Hi, Sugar! My afternoon isn't going too bad, thank you for asking. I'm just taking it easy - doing some research for work and reading a book Seawaters mentioned, Zoo. How is your day going? I hope it is a MERRY and relaxing one!

So true, Christmasstar!

Glad to hear yours is going well! Mine is going well, too, thanks! I've just been playing with the kids, watching tv, and pinning on Pinterest. I love that!

I agree with you totally, Merry. The same can also be said for surviving suicide. It is not the same thing but in a way, it is because you find out who your REAL friends are. I was looked at as damaged and ostracized by some and just plain written off as a friend to others when my first husband passed 20 years ago. I found out quickly that some people are all for you unless suicide comes into the picture - That seems to change perceptions of many, though not all. Now, I am sorry for my outburst but I felt it needed to be said. I guess the long and short of it is REAL friends stick with a person, as we all will with Seawaters, no matter what...Peace to you my friend xo
