I'm ashamed of myself for being lazy today. I should be going through closets and storage areas rooting out stuff that should be thrown away so I can reclaim the space. Instead, I'm sitting here with a mug of tea visiting with you, then I'm inclined to head for the sofa to do some crochet after I log off. No big plans this weekend, and ... believe it or not ... neither of us has office or freelance work! It's a really truly weekend! Maybe that's why I'm feeling lazy.

Yay! Enjoy, Merry!!!

You deserve to take it easy......I have very few weekends that are truly "weekends" as I usually work every day including Saturday and Sunday.

You'd have rides. You KNOW you'd have rides. If everyone's pretty much staying in the same hotel, it's easy to hook up with someone who's going to the same event, or out to lunch or dinner or whatever. Or we could get a charter bus. That's it! Everybody on a bus, singing carols as we go from place to place!

OOOH !! Carol singing ! That would be awesome !! I have never gotten to go Caroling ever...!

Dawg, so glad Snowball is doing better!

That sounds like an interesting pattern you are working. I wouldn't be able to work on something that complicated and watch television, too. I do look at patterns and try to figure out how they were look using forest green and burgundy - usually can't go wrong with those two colors. Have a MERRY day, Merry!

Well, it's more like listening to television! I look up now and then. When we're watching films downstairs, I work on a scrap afghan using a stitch pattern that calls for working into spaces rather than into stitches, so I can crochet in the dark!

Here's the afghan I'm working on (it's a kit from Herrschner's). I liked the combination of squares and ripples, and I couldn't resist the pattern name! It's a bit of a pain because there are so many color changes---there are dozens of tails to weave in.

Good Morning MMC!!! It's going to be a beautiful day here with a high in the mid 40's. Then winter arrives late tonight. It looks like we are still on track for 6 to 10 inches of snow by Monday morning. Booo!!! All of the talk about convention last night led to me having an awesome dream. Instead of going to Louisville or Detroit, I convinced all of you to just fly here to Indianapolis. That way we were in between Santa Claus, Indiana and Bronners. Then Instead of renting hotel rooms, all of you stayed here at my apartment building since all of my neighbors have spare bedrooms and air mattresses. It was like a giant sleep over that involved setting up a TV in the yard for Christmas movies and Caroling in the middle of summer. Then we went out and rented a couple of passenger vans and made an overnight trip to Santa Claus, IN. Then we came back here for a few days show I could show you around town. Then we made another overnight trip up to Bronner's and camped out in tents in Meceka's front yard. It was a blast and a little weird. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe we should set a date....

Hello everyone. Happy Dog says good morning, too!

Hope every one has a happy Saturday. Not sure what we're doing today, I just know it's not work so I'm happy!

Talk to y'all later.
awww so cute!

Ok, just so you know what my idea of a good movie is.....it goes like this...

Small, casual conversation like "Hi, how are you?" Followed by a kind reply of "I'm fine, but you are a spy, bad guy, terrorist with an evil idea like holding the President hostage....and I'm about to start shooting at you."

This conversation is followed by an hour of shooting, explosions, crashes, and fights. Then there is a 15 minutes conversation where everyone laughs or someone is captured and interrogated, followed by another hour of shooting, explosions, crashes, and fights. It all concludes with a big kiss at the end (or a handshake).

If this is your kind of movie, it is awesome! I really enjoyed it....and so did Wifey. The only difference in my favorite movie and her favorite movie is that is has to have a good looking leading man like me (or Gerard Butler, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Daniel Craig, etc).
throw in a few people spontaneously breaking out in song and dance and it will be complete!

I love this dream !!! I really wish we could all meet !!! xo I would be a little big of a hindrance though, because I would need to ride with someone here and there since driving is one of the things that scares me xo

Frankenmuth is only a 4 hour drive for me.
No fear cm, my van holds 7 and I have a safe driving award, you can go with me!

That is really neat looking and Christmasy as well. You have alot of talent there Merry and believe me I know. When the oppurtunity presents itself and you have your project moved along a bit, I would really just love to see a photograph of it and a close up of the patterns as well. I just love things like that and appreciate just all of the hard work that goes into creating them. How long does something like that usually take from start to finish?

Hey, there's nothing wrong with that, you enjoy yourself and have a wondeful relaxing weekend doing the things that make you happy.....

I never have a good answer to that question! Because I work on something little by little in my spare time, and the demands on my spare time vary. The work is in progress anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, but I would have no idea as to the number of actual work-hours.

Hm, I've never photographed a work-in-progress before. Could be interesting!

The colors are semi-Christmassy. The greens are on the "leafy" side, and the reds aren't really reds: one is a mild orange-pink (sort of salmony), and the other is a strong orange-pink. Some other time I may buy more yarn and make one in truer Christmas colors.

Thanks! We went to D'Angelos for lunch, and next we're going to run some 16mm film downstairs, some new acquisitions from eBay. A cartoon, a couple of Soundies, a couple serial chapters, and "When Comedy Was King" (a compilation of excerpts from silent comedies: Chaplin, Keaton, Laurel & Hardy, Billy Bevan, Edgar Kennedy, etc.). Should be a fun "matinee"!

Not today--I was already too tired to get all of it out. I did work quickly, though, and now have Hubby's working area and the stove all cleaned so he can dirty it up again! Boy, am I TIRED! I have to ell you that Hubby is still outside splitting eucalyptus firewood. He will then come in and get started on the spaghetti sauce prep work. I have no idea where he gets his energy!

Haha!!

Will you have Christmas music playing while you're working today?!

The spaghetti sauce sounds delicious!

Hope you have a great day, too!! Xx

So funny, Coach.

Sounds like a plan to me!!!

Wow - that is a complicated pattern you are working! It will be gorgeous when you get it done though, esp. since it is you who is doing the crocheting!

Hey Crown !! Always nice to see you. Could you please ask Carl if I can give him a ((((hug))) ?? I dont know how he feels about that stuff xo!!

Oh, he would love it.
(Of course, it's a little difficult for him to hug back.)

You haven't lived until you've hugged a camel.
