Good afternoon, MMC!

The kitchen is all cleaned up and I am drinking one last cup of coffee before I go. Speaking of go, most of the snow has melted away. All that is left are the dirty piles from shoveling - I will be very glad when I don't have to see those any more! Such an eye sore. The cats like playing on them, though, so I guess they are good for something. cheesy

Have a most MERRY day and be safe!!!

Good afternoon, MMC! How are you all? I am well. Just waiting for DH to get home. DS is down for a nap, so I thought I would check in with you guys for a little while.

What is new? Not much going on here. I had a good night at work last night. I have tonight to work yet, then I am off tomorrow night. We're supposed to get snow here. They're calling for 2-4 inches. I guess we'll see what we get.

How is everyone's weekend going? Anyone doing anything special? We'll probably just stay in, get something for dinner, and the kids will watch a movie and make popcorn.

Well, I am going to read some of the posts. I am not sure if I will get caught up or not. I still have some from yesterday to read as well. I will try to check back in before I lay down for my nap this evening. God Bless!

I bought some ergonomical crochet hooks and might test them out tonight if I am not too tired. I bought three little crochet booklets, one including a pattern for a hat similar to Snowflake's Pippi Longstocking one, but I am not ready to tackle it yet until I get my "pile of stuff" more organized. I am not sure when that will be completed, but it has to be soon!!! Which project are you working on?

Have fun with your sister and niece, snowflake! I have to work a few hours today and if I get back in time, I will listen to the Greasy Skillet and work on a crochet project.

He's friends with a cousin of mine. They went to college together. Nice guy from what I understand. He's from Leesburg, GA, not to far away.

Also, Buster Posey, the catcher for the SF Giants, and Phillip Phillips.

Leesburg is a tiny town, but they have many famous folks form there!

Your cousin is one lucky person!

THis combination sounds so interesting. Do you have a pic or pattern name so I could search for it? A lot of times I do as you suggested: imagining projects as ones with Christmas colors and winter colors.

Oooh, crochet! I've lost the knack of watching TV without working on some crochet. I recently started working on an afghan that combines granny squares and ripples---the granny squares (turned sideways, diamond-wise) form the foundation for the ripples.

Do you ever look at afghan patterns and try to figure out if they'd work in Christmas colors? cheesy

To me, that's not being lazy, that's being frugal with your energy! Those are my kind of days!

I'm ashamed of myself for being lazy today. I should be going through closets and storage areas rooting out stuff that should be thrown away so I can reclaim the space. Instead, I'm sitting here with a mug of tea visiting with you, then I'm inclined to head for the sofa to do some crochet after I log off. No big plans this weekend, and ... believe it or not ... neither of us has office or freelance work! It's a really truly weekend! Maybe that's why I'm feeling lazy.

A most excellent idea, Merry!!!

You'd have rides. You KNOW you'd have rides. If everyone's pretty much staying in the same hotel, it's easy to hook up with someone who's going to the same event, or out to lunch or dinner or whatever. Or we could get a charter bus. That's it! Everybody on a bus, singing carols as we go from place to place!

good evening everyone....hope your all having a fantastic christmassy day...well its goodnight from me..one of my girls has been sick and is not settling this evening...have a fantastic weekend...:sparkle:

I hope she feels better soon!

Odd? I'll tell you odd: I didn't even get my license until I was 24 because of my fears!!! But I will admit that I can drive anywhere and not be afraid now. Unless, of course, I am driving a VW Bug on a dark country road, with the wind blowing just a little, and I run out of gas, and Jason is on the loose, and I open my door and leave it open and leave my headlights on, and the battery goes dead!!! And what else...oh, yeah, some creepy, scary music starts playing....

Well, now you are all going to think I am really odd, but I don't even drive the expressway here ......I just get too frightened !!

My sister went with her neighbor today to the corners office and she said it was just tragic. The corner told her that her husband had been driving in the slow lane of the interstate when a semi that had been sitting in the median decide to come back onto the road. The semi came out at a really slow speed and Scott tried to swerve but didn't have enough time and ran into the back of it. The worse part though was that he mostly likely would have survived if it hadn't taken so long to cut him out of his work van.

In other news, Boeing confirmed that they are going to lay off 800 employees starting in 2 weeks. My BIL has been there a little over 2 years so he's not sure how far up the chain he is. It doesn't make sense though. They say there's not enough work for them but yet they are on mandatory overtime and working weekends.

That is such a tragic case. What a shame. Praying for her and her family.

Praying your BIL doesn't lose his job. What a horrible thing to have to worry, any time of the year.

Goodnight everyone! We are turning in early, the boys are fast asleep and Snowball has us worried all day he is lethargic..We will continue to monitor him overnight...maybe he just has a bug,but when he refuses food we know something is up...I hope everyone has a great and peaceful night,it seems a lot of us are facing a lot of heartache right now...I will keep all of yall in my prayers as usual!!!

Praying Snowball is going to be okay!
