Christmas Countdown - 2013

Thanks for the reminder, FTS. Yesterday I ordered National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Sleepless in Seattle, and You Got Mail. Now I need to order Santa Clause, and I think I will order, well, my mind just went blank--chemo brain strikes at the most inopportune times. I'll remember it later, I'm sure! What are some other Christmas movies I should order for my new portable DVD player? I have Elf, that much I remember, LOL!

I love the movie Secret Santa with Jenny Garth.

Mouse woke me up at 4 this morning - her bowl was empty. I am so tired! Haven't been sleeping well the past few nights. A few hours of work on my agenda today and maybe if I am lucky, a nap!

I'm working on two afghans - one is a hexagonal granny square that you attach as you go along and the other is a baby afghan in a simple pattern. It took me a second to figure out "beanbag Marshmallow Peep," LOL!

Sorry, it's a beanbag shaped exactly like a giant Marshmallow Peep! I don't eat them, but the beanbag was too cute to resist.

Consider doing it in a variegated yarn. There are some great variegated color combinations in baby yarn that make beautiful afghans.

good afternoon..well its near evening here!!...its 5pm!!..getting ready to cook dinner,i"m having chicken breast wrapped in bacon..roast potatoes,carrots..followed by lime cheesecake...yup baked by myself...hummm!!!..seawaters...christmas movies!!..how about THE CHRISTMAS SHOES...ERNEST SAVES CHRISTMAS...well better go and get dinner..catch yaa later this evening guys...:sparkle:

I've never had any luck with those "charted" patterns, for some reason. But is the pattern online? Sometimes I leaf through patterns just for pleasure, and I'm curious as to how that one is put together. I'm guessing it's in one piece with color changes for the bears and trees.

I looked at the variegated yarns available at the store and they didn't seem right for Zoey, my grandniece, so I bought three large skeins of ivory Bernat. It is not a baby yarn, but it is so soft! I thought I might add a few rows of lilac after I finish off a skein of the ivory. I can do the border in lilac, too.

What is your color scheme? In a previous post, I said that I had ordered the kit Merry Carey has and I ordered one other Christmas one. I would like to do something in a jewel tone of teal, deep purple, cranberry....

I saw this one when I did a search of polar bear afghans last week when we discussed afghans on MMC. I am not sure if I could do it or not. I would be afraid of messing up some stitches and not realizing it until I was already at the head and noticed that the foot was turned backwards, LOL.
