Writing things out and saying them out loud at the same time helps, too. For example, I had my students practice math facts by writing and saying each fact. They would do 2 x 3 = 6, 2 x 3 = 6, etc. until they had written them five times; then they would go to 2 x 4 = 8 and do that five times. It really does help. When I am trying to memorize a part for Elks contests, I do it a paragraph or a few sentences at a time. Once I memorize the paragraph, I start on another one and practice the first one in addition to the new one. How many codes do you have to learn? You can also make up a rhyme to go with the code. For example for 4 X 4 = 16: Want to drive a four by four truck, Unless you are 16 you are out of luck! You could also think about setting the codes to music such as Old MacDonald Had a Farm or even It's a Small World, LOL!

I am doing a few things around the house while studying these codes that just do not seem to want to stick in my brain!
we need to take another family picture soon, it has been a few years. Used to do it every year when the kids were small.
Enjoy your day!

Even if we were having snow, CM3, I would not be tired of it! Take care as you prepare for your final exam. I don't understand how there could be a final exam in writing. It seems to me, you should be judged on how much you have improved and how well you tackle the writing topic!

Well, there is a test, I am gessing a multiple choice test as that is how the quizzes have been. I think it is probably going to be on the different things we have learned about writing, such as what kind of voice you are writing in, (passive first person, etc) and other technical stuff like that. xo

You are only allowed to disappear if you are coming to do these dishes that you have been ignoring!!!!! I've been forced to flip my plates over and use the bottoms since you haven't been here to wash the tops. Not to mention the fact that I've been eating with my hands since all of the silverware is dirty too.
You should have used all the paper plates, cups and plastic ware I sent ya! =)

My throat is starting to hurt again! On top of going to bed last night with a sore throat I got a wake up call around 12:30 am from my 20 year old cousin who was upset about his puppy being sick and wanted some advice. I am not a vet but I guess he knows I love animals and work with them at the feed store. I felt really bad because the phone was breaking up last night and I suggested that he googles the symptoms online and I will call him in the morning. I wish I could have helped him last night but we live so far away and I wasn't sure what to do. I guess he just wanted to talk to someone so that was okay with me! I got a hold of him this morning and the puppy seems to be doing better. He apologized for waking me up but I understood he was upset. Anyway, not much sleep last night but things happen!

Right now I am busy with my granddaughter so after she leaves I am going to get some rest and get better!

howdy......gosh...I´m into my Toy Story mode....Kandice and I were watching part 3 today after watching TS 1 and 2 yesterday....I would love to buy her the original Woody and Jessie....at least Woody...they are so darn expensive over here....they charge around 60euros over here....that is around 70 to 75 dollars....for a doll?...Next time my friend goes to Disneyland Paris...I will ask her to bring me the Woody doll :(

CM3, there's a polar bear special on the Animal Planet tomorrow night! Check your local listings =] Xo

We are leaving Wednesday morning for Madera to spend 10 days with my SIL and BIL. Hubby will be helping his nephew work on an Eagle Scout project. We will be having leg of lamb and all the trimmings for lunch/dinner. I have to take all my utensils and "tools" to make my homemade rolls.

Sorry to be a pest because I bet you all have already discussed this last week but I missed out....

What is everyone's plans for Easter?

Oh, yes, indeedy, that does sound Christmasy. I think you do have a winner for this afternoon!

Good Afternoon everyone. Woke up to it snowing this morning... the neighborhood looked look pretty and put me more into the christmas mood. Speaking of Christmas, yesterday I was in toy section of Walmart and there was a female employee restockinng shelves in the toy section and starts singing "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" and that put a smile on my face.

Thinking hot cocoa, cookies and a christmas movie with the kids sounds like a winner this afternoon.

Have a great day!

Extra snow cream accepted way out here!

Good Monday afternoon everyone. This has been a perfect spring day for me. We have a few inches of snow on the ground and more coming. We will have snow cream this afternoon.

We should warm up later in the week :-(. Hope we still have some snow on the ground for Easter. It would be great to be standing in the snow for our sunrise Easter service.

Have a blessed day.

Keeping you and your family in my prayers.

Our game today was snowed out. The game scheduled for tomorrow will probably be snowed out. We have a lot of games to makeup.

Thanks for the prayers for my parents. Mom just got out of the hosital with issues from the colon cancer. She is frail but keeps going.

Some of us here feel the same way as you, Xmas Tidings!

Gosh, are you soooo right! Can you believe it's been almost (2) two years without snow laying on the ground around here. That's almost unheard of. Usually were known to get a Noreaster or at least an Alberta Clipper swing thru but nothing??? I'm hoping for a blizzard; (Yes, I know some out there may think I'm a little touched, but it's actually a serious case of being snow deprived...lol either way, I'm happy at the moment!

How wondeful about the kitty, CAH!

Mgramsey, I am still praying for your mom!

Meceka, Guess what?! Another stray kitty that came up missing nearly a year ago is back! She returned last week. This is the 3rd kitty to return. The other 2 were missing for about 6 months. She meowed real loud at the door and when we came out she was all over us. She looks very healthy and remembers us! Amazing!!!

There is still hope for the kitty that came up missing at your house.

Caninemom, how is Wish doing???

So funny, Made. We kids used to think that if we let our dog lick the plate or if we "sopped" all the food off with biscuits there would be no need to actually wash the dishes! Of course, we were lots younger!

I've noticed that here, too, MC. Maybe they think it will speed things up if the cashier doesn't have to keep referring to the list. Of course, what if the cashier keeps making a mistake with the code, then there is no real speed.

I can't figure out why they insist that you memorize them ... at the supermarkets we go to, the cashier refers to a list for the produce codes.
