Christmas Countdown - 2013

Good Thursday afternoon everyone. Hope all stay safe from the storms in the midwest. Not much going on here. High School baseball is back after last week's spring break. We lost Tuesday and play again Friday.

I believe I said before, my son a HS junior, plays and has covered high school baseball for our weekly newspaper for the last 3 years. Since there were no games last week, he was asked to write about how the county's middle school baseball team's season was going. Our newspaper is now partially available online so please excuse me for boasting but here is a link to his latest article;

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

My eye hurts! I don't know what happened. I thought it was just allergies, but now my right eye is swollen almost shut. Of course this would happen the day before the band has to play. LOL The doctor gave me some drops, but no help so far.

Today is my 25 year anniversary with the company. They found a picture of me playing in the band on the internet and posted it on our information TVs here in the office and in the plant. Funny guys!

Thanks. He writes a weekly article throughout the high school baseball season. They only post 1 sports article on the website a week so not all of his articles make the web, some are just in the printed newspaper.

I'll try not to bore everyone with it again.

I am on lunch break. Not eating anything but fruit. It is very humid the temp is 82F heat index is 92F rain is on the way without a doubt. They are forecasting between an inch and 3 then great weekend weather is coming! Lows in the upper 40's highs in the lower 70's perfect mid spring weather! I have not heard any updates from the news except all of boston is at a standstill. I can't imagine what that is like! I am still praying it ends peacefully. Well just a few more hours then the weekend will be here,Have a safe, quiet rest of the work week everyone!

Don't worry, we're safe here and have the news on constantly. We just hope they have the guy bottled up and he doesn't get out here to the Metrowest suburbs ... we're not planning to go out anywhere. I have to monitor my email for work, anyway. I can't imagine what it's like out there. It must be very strange with businesses closed and very little traffic, and all public transportation at a standstill. Logan Airport is still open and they're allowing taxicabs to operate again in Boston.

Wow ... just heard that they bombers' mother was previously arrested in the town where we live for stealing over $1,000 worth of women's clothing ... nice family! The reporters have also been talking to their uncle in Maryland, and the wrestling coach of the fugitive. This whole thing is really nuts.

And we need you here on MMC! cheesy

I just heard on the news that UMass-Amherst is being evacuated, that is about 25 miles north of me. I hope this situation gets taken care of soon. This is stressful to watch.

Hello everyone. Happy Friday! Well, I entered the world of smart phones last night. My wife dropped her cell phone in a big ol' rain puddle, couldn't find it for a few minutes, so it just sat there collecting water for a while. It was an old phone, and we needed to upgrade anyway, as it was on it's last leg. We went to the store and all they had were smart phones, save for one little phone that we didn't like. Anyway, I'm the owner of a new iPhone. Any killer apps I need to get or neat tricks I need to know about? I'm new to the smart phones, so I'm learning as I go.

Another new iPhone owner! I'd like to take the leap, but just can't sell myself, because adding a data plan would just about double my monthly cellphone bill. That's based on Internet research ... maybe I should drop by a store and see if they could offer me some sort of upgrade deal. I love my iPad, so I'd probably love an iPhone as well.

They corrected themselves and now say it was UMass-Dartmouth evacuated not Amherst, due to the third suspect being a registered student there.
