Good Morning everyone!

It will be a busy week for us. My mom is getting ready for surgery Wednesday and is very nervous. I am no help because I am nervous too! She is such a highly active person and I hate seeing her not being able to get around much and hurting but after this surgery and healing she will be back to her old self. I cannot wait to move forward with it all!

I really appreciate everyone's concern, thoughts and prayers for her!!!

Good news, I got a raise at work. Completely unexpected! Every time I get one it's unexpected. They told me I am doing a great job and they love having me there. 10 years there and I still love that place!!!

Then at work we had a funny incident. I was waiting on this man who was buying a rooster from us. We usually go get the rooster out of the cage, put it in a box then bring it to the counter. Instead, this man brought the rooster to the counter and was waiting on us bringing a box. We had a lot of customers around and when I brought the box the rooster flipped out making a lot of noise then hopped all over the counter jumping on people and knocking stuff all over the place. That poor little guy was scared but it seems that everyone was entertained by the mess he made. He broke a lid on a jar of local honey so I got a discount on it and bought it! =)

I felt bad for the rooster but we are suppose to get them and put them in a box to prevent that, not have the customer bring them to us but it all worked out! In the end the rooster has a new home!

Have a great day everyone!

Congrats on the well deserved raise and best of luck to your mom x

Hello everyone. I have taken this Friday off of work, so this is a short week for me and I'm already excited. Now, let's hope Monday-Thursday doesn't drag by!
How was everyone's weekend? I hope you all had a good one and have an even better week!

Just two days to go till your weekend break! What have you got planned for it?

Hello again!
I went to Target this morning and bought much more than I originally went in for. Like usual. My youngest stayed home from school today. She isn't feeling well. Not sure if she is coming down with something or if she just did too much this weekend. I can not believe the shifts she is getting at Haagen Dazs. She had nine hour shifts! Plus she took the SAT on Saturday. Those shifts might be alright over the summer but its a lot for her now since she still has school and homework! Anyway my oldest thinks she is getting pink eye so I am bringing the both of them to the doctor later this afternoon. Its always something! I am going to bake cookies now. I feel like baking.
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hope your girls feel better soon! Those hours are crazy considering she still has school ! Hope you had fun baking :)

I'll be dining solo tonight. Can't decide whether to get a mess of Chinese food, or to be good and have a chicken breast and some vegetables.

What did you end up having lol !

Ack! I forgot to pickup the kids at school!

Nancy usually does it, but she called to see if I could today. I told her I would, then I got busy here at work and forgot. I finally remembered (about 10 minutes later than usual) and took off for the school. They had walked home by then. We only live a couple blocks from the school, and in Bellville that means about 100 yards away.

I don't mind them walking, but Nancy insists on someone picking them up.

I predict a Rumble in the Bronx when I get home. :o

Yikes hope Nancy went easy on you.....

Thank you!

Some people really tick me off...so Sears just called my house and wanted to know if we wanted to re-new the maintenance contract on our dishwasher, which would cost money. Anything with bills, I always ask DH, which I am sure a lot of wife's do, at least I know I do. Anyway, I told her that and DH said he didn't want it renewed. When I told her, she started laughing at me.

Anyway, to make a long story short...why was that funny. Was it funny to her because I asked my husband or because we ended the maintenance contract. Either way, she made me mad.

You think that's bad, hear this! I got a call several years back regarding something similar about a sales person wanting me to purchase something. All I said is that I would like to talk to my husband before making a decision and the reply I got was, "Do you always have to ask your husband for permission first"? I was so stunned that I didn't even know what to reply! In our household I am the one in charge of keeping up with the finances, Wayne don't like messing with it and I don't mind but OUT OF RESPECT Wayne and I always discuss everything before making a financial decision, NOT GETTING PERMISSION from each other but just making sure we made the right choice. That is all! I am happy to say it has worked for us because we have never ever ever argued about money and we really don't make a lot but it's not an issue because we discuss things first. Anyway, back to the story, to this day I never replied to the rude lady what I really wanted to say because I was just shocked by her response! It is one of those things you think about later what should have been said to her and she should have been reported to the supervisor. Still makes me mad to this very day especially if she knew how easy going my husband is, far from being controlling (like she wanted to think)!!!!!!!!!! Actually with Wayne with anything I ask him about spending money on something his reply is, "Whatever you want to do is fine with me". He's so controlling, right??? Ha ha! Okay, time to laugh about it now! (or try to). =)

I'm going to join match to see if me and Martha are a good fit for each other.
You two can bake cookies together! =)

Hello, friends!!

How is your evening going so far?

We just finished dinner, we had some Alfredo fiori & some cheese bread. Sinfully good.

Adrian has been busy catching up with work & unpacking today. He had a wonderful trip with his Dad. It was really neat to be at an event like this, one other than a Medal Of Honor convention, and still see the gratitude & respect that his Dad received. He said they got a police escort to Churchill Downs, and he got to watch Ken, his Dad, on the red carpet. I guess a gentleman that was observing started a standing ovation for Ken & the other MOH recipients, and said that these are the real people who should be recognized. Adrian was extra proud at that moment.
Then, he got to walk out on the grounds/ track along with his Dad, Mr. Norris, and Mr. Meyer to the winners circle with the winner's wreath. He said that he was so excited that he took pictures of his feet there to remember the exact moment! A few roses fell off the wreath, so they gave them to him. He's going to put a shadow box together with them and a couple of other things he got while he was there.
I'm glad they had so much fun!

made, he met "Wild Bill" from Deadliest Catch, and had his picture taken with him. They may work together in the future.

It's so nice that I think we may go on another walk!! 74 degrees right now.

Hope you all have a beautiful night!!

xx

That is awesome what they got to experience at Chruchhill Downs! Does he own a horse? I am behind on here and missed something.

I am hooked on Deadliest Catch. Watch out for Wild Bill, he's a wild man with a bit of a temper! Ha ha! What kind of work would they be doing? Crab fishing? That is cool he met him.

Just put thanksgiving DVD in my amazon cart, CAH! Jude is so excited.
Cool! Did you get the Halloween one too!

Just took Chico to the vet yesterday for a check up then last night my cat is showing signs of a bladder infection so off to the vet again! I cannot put that off for another day. He just got over one a couple of months ago.

No time to read any more post, going to get out of here and get to the vet as soon as he opens.

Have a Merry Day my Christmas Friends!

Get to work 8 to 3:30 today. That means I will be on express all day.

I could have worked yesterday, but promised family I would go with them to see Iron Man 3 (did not like the movie at all! very violent and gross, cannot imagine anyone taking children to see this)

Anyway, I gave up 4 hours of work for that, should have gone to work!
The rest of the day was great, enjoyed the drive and the beach.

But now, I have to go to work so you all have a great day!

Sorry to hear about Chico, hope he makes a quick recovery.

So, I think I mentioned a little while back that I wanted to get a bike...

So, in March, my Mom asked me if there was anything in particular I wanted for my birthday, I said a bike! I told her if she wanted to contribute towards one I would really appreciate it.

She laughed, and said, what's wrong with the bike you have?

I said, "what???"

Apparently, when I moved to Las Vegas, I had given my parents a practically brand new bike to store for me. So, my Dad got it out from their storage under the porch, and brought it to me last weekend! I have no memory of this bike, LOL!!

Adrian just took it for a test ride, and said I need a few new spokes, but otherwise It's in great condition :)
Sweet!!

Wow....hahaha....you totally forgot that bike?
Sounds like me!!!!!

Anyone see Bradmac since about 5:00 pm? He may go missing.

Brad, my dogs stay in the house....I have a doghouse you can stay in for a fwe days if you need it!

I'm told that a dog house is too good for me. She did offer to drop me off behind Bernie's store so I could sleep in a cardboard box.

I thought that was pretty generous of her, considering the steam coming out of her ears.

j/k!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I survived (barely!) forgetting to pickup the kids at school yesterday.

I spent the afternoon cleaning up the city hall for an expected crowd for our council meeting. An assisted-living retirement community is about to start construction in Bellville. It's a big deal, millions of dollars being spent, and the whole county is looking at Bellville right now. The meeting went well.

I can see the jealousy in the eyes of the officials from the other towns in the county. It's a BIG city-tax revenue generator...but Bellville doesn't have city taxes. It's a point of honor that we don't tax our citizens based on their property values. We just charge $25/month for water and trash pickup, and we have fund-raisers to pay for other needs.

So the new business coming into town won't have a direct financial benefit for Bellville, but they plan to employ 100 people, so the other businesses in town should do better.

I love it when a plan comes together!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Thinking of you!!

Glad Chico is doing well.

Praying for your cat, hope some meds clear it right up.

No, but the Blossoms thread launch is only about 4 1/2 months away!

Sweet! I love the Christmas blossoms thread! Before becoming a part of MMC, I would go to the stores on my lunch break starting in late September and look for signs of Christmas. I would always think, "Am I the only one who does this?" Glad to know I'm not!

And thanks for the update. We are spoiled here thanks to our offical count master!

What did you end up having lol !

A boneless/skinless chicken breast baked in a foil packet, "stinky green beans" (canned green beans cooked with a little butter, a dab of mustard, and a splash of Worcestershire sauce), and a packet of instant mac 'n' cheese. It was so-so. I'm not much of a cook, I'm afraid, especially when improvising for one. (Mr. was running a film show last night.)

I should have gotten the Chinese food.

I can't believe that I don't remember it at all... :/

Kinda scary!! :)

Good morning everyone. Nothing new to report, other than I'm still trying to fight a bad case of the "I don't give a care" syndrome! I really think it’s a combo of school ending this week and finally graduating, nicer weather, and the countdown to vacation. But I will press ahead.

So, any of you have experience with the iPad Mini? I’m thinking of getting one with some gift cards I have received. I have a Kindle Fire and like it, but my kids use it more than I do. I’ve also noticed the app store is somewhat limited. I like the size of the iPad Mini, but I wonder if I would regret not buying a full size one. I had a first generation, smaller Kindle Fire and enjoyed it. Then, I bought the bigger 8.9 inch screen and found I actually don’t enjoy reading on the bigger screen as much as I thought I would. My kids enjoy it for playing games, so it receives a lot of use. But, anyone have experience with either size iPad and have any recommendations?

Doesn't sound too bad.

What films did Mr. run last night?
