Hello everyone. I hate sitting at home feeling powerless. I want to be out helping, but streets are blocked just down the road and only emergency responders can get through. I understand why...I just hate not being able to do anything!

We lost about 24 kids at one of our local schools. Since my wife is a teacher we know so many people in the district, and she is having such a tough time with this! I know everyone is. I was just at that school about two weeks ago, on a Sunday, visiting with some folks who live across the street. I know their house is gone but have not heard from them.

Thanks for all the prayers. Don't get the wrong impression...my house and family are safe! But just taking the loss in the community hard.

Hope you all are having a good Monday. My dogs don't know what to think about all this...helicopters and sirens all around!

I was reading at your posts yesterday, but I did not hear about what happened until late last night because I had the car radio and tv off. I saw the video of the disaster on Fox News late and my jaw dropped when I wated the video of the tornado path and all the destruction that was in it's path. I watched the video and thought to myself, "Oh my God"; I pray for all those poor people who's lives have been turned upside down, and for all the lives that have been lost in this terrible event.

Ryan, I'm so happy that you and your family is safe and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and also with everyone there that has been effected by this. I also thank the Lord for all the responders that had gotten there so quickly to also help save lives.

I did hear that the sirens went off 16 minutes before the tornado hit which they say saved many lives, can you imagine what could have happened if this occoured say 30, 20 or even 10 years earlier; they say on tv that it could have been 10 times worse....

Good Morning, Friends of the Holidays.

Onward we move into the week.

Onward we move into our count:
Days to the Season: 176
Days to Christmas Day: 218
Barely over 2 1/2 weeks left until we reach Milestone #9, the 200-day Christmas Day marker, followed immediately
by the start of our double-100's count range.
(Happy days ahead to look forward to!)

Plenty more rain yesterday, hard at times. No severe weather, fortunately.
Another damp one for today, maybe with less rain.
Currently, we have 68 very wet degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Totally Terrific Tuesday, Everyone!

Good morning everyone! I was trying to remember who on here was from OK and now I see it was Ryan...Prayers are def. going out to the folks on OKC where the tornados hit. Just hearing about the kids at school is terrible. All I can do is say prayers!!!

We have 2 weeks left and we are at the stage of moving our bigger stuff into a pod..I swear this is my last move!!! brandi has 3 more days of school and final exams begin tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good day!

We were able to go to Cars Land and ride the Radiator Springs Racers. It scared me at first and then I realized that it was the noise that made me believe we were really going fast in a street race. Made, you would have been proud of me, even if I did sit in the middle of the front seat. They take your picture on that ride sort of like they do on Splash Mountain. Needless to say, I did NOT ride SM because of my extreme fear of flying (LOL), but we did buy the pic from the Cars Land ride. We had our picture made with Tow Mater also. We also rode the Matterhorn. I first rode it 44 years ago when I graduated East Carolina University and moved to California. It was a hard, bouncy ride this time. I will tell more about my trip in the next few days. I finished four loads of laundry today, and I am bushed! Good night, all!

Sounds fun!! Those pictures are priceless!! Great memories

our local tv was there when it opened, really looks fun! So happy you had a good time.
OK, I have looked everywhere, I cannot find your pictures, can you please direct me to where they are posted, thanks!

Good Morning! Our new little family member is sitting next to me and really want's to type something on my laptop, she keeps putting her paws on the keys. She's smart to like MMC!

You all are coming up with cute names! I like the name, Curly Sue! Track suggested a Beatles name and for now I just realized I am temporarily using a Beatles name until I come up with a permanent one, the song, "Girl"! Yep, "Come here, Girl", "Ready for lunch, Girl"?

Good morning.
My thoughts woke to all those in Moore, Oklahoma this morning and to you Ryan and your family.
Watching the tv with all the scenes of devastation, the sorrow of some as they face the loss of loved ones and friends then the overwhelming joy of others when they find those they thought lost.
My prayers go out to you all

Good idea for a name!!! Loved that movie!

I remember the title, but I never saw the movie. *blush*

Looking forward to hearing all about Disneyland, once you get out from under the laundry!

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's going to be another hot one here in central Indy with a high of 83. We are also going to see some storms throughout the day. My plans for today involve a lot of work on the computer and running a few errands. Of course that's all subject to change according to who shows up at my door. First things first though. I have to drag myself out of bed. I'm really comfortable laying here watching the news though. The pictures from Oklahoma are just heartbreaking. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!

I would guess that it would be safe to say by the the looks of it, that she's just as glad to have found you both as well..... I'll bet you she's thinking; "There's no place like home...." and a good ole comfy couch helps alot as well!!!:-D

She DOES look as though she's thoroughly at home. If I didn't know she was a new member of the family, I would swear she had been with you for years, she looks so comfortable and happy!

Nothing wrong with "Girl." After all, "Lassie" means "girl," and Lassie did all right with that name!

Another name that comes to me is Perdita, from the book (not the movie) "One Hundred and One Dalmatians." In the book, she was a lost, starving dog wandering around trying to find her family. Mrs. Darling found the dog collapsed in the middle of the road and picked her up and took her home with her. She named the dog Perdita from the Latin word for "lost." (But Girl looks too chummy for a Latin name, I think.)

Maybe she would. In the Damon Runyon story "Little Miss Marker," there was a little girl named Marky. And then there's Markie Post from "Night Court." Made may be onto something.

The radio is full of news about the Moore tornado this morning. Last I heard there were 51 killed; 20 were children. And they were expecting the final count to rise over 100. So terrible ... like the rest of you, I can only cry and pray.

My granddaughter just came over looked at the dog and said, "Let's name her, Pillow Fight or Shoe"! Ha ha!

My brother is named Mark too! =)

Good morning, friends~

Happy Tuesday!!

We had some loud thunderstorms throughout the night, they kept Har & I up for a bit. She did much better with them! She still was very alert, and unnerved, but just moved closer to me & planted herself in between my legs & rested her head on my stomach. That's progress.

So, I am a little sleepy once again =]
But, only because I'm a light sleeper!!

How are you guys today?

I am going to have some coffee, take Harlowe for a walk, and then hop in the shower & get ready for my lunch date. Hopefully, the storms will hold off for my mini road trip.

Thoughts & prayers going out to our friends in Oklahoma.

Take care, and have a blessed day, friends.
xx

Here are a couple of pictures of our new family member.

She is enjoying the nice comfy couch!

She is a real sweetie!!! We are so happy to have her!

She's adorable!!!

I was thinking the same thing, Merry!
