Christmas Countdown - 2013

Well we are getting the kids ready and are going to drive out for some sight seeing in Salt Lake City. It feels so good to live in a big metro area again. I miss Valdosta some it was not really a tiny town it was just a college and military town with a few thousand local old timers there that ran the city...One thing for sure though I will miss going to my Ga Bulldog games!!! I can still see them though on ESPN. I also forgot to tell everyone that the dogs made the move fine too..at first they paced around the house for a few hours sniffing around but the last day or two they are acting more calm. Well I better get to moving. Have a great morning everyone!

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

Nancy's birthday went fine. Elizabeth helped me find a good, last-minute present for Nancy, so I'm not in the dog house. We had a low country boil for her birthday dinner last night. There were so many crab legs, we even had some leftover. That's saying a lot when there are guys like me, Jacob, Bernie and my BIL at the table!

Tomorrow evening is my mom's surprise 70th birthday party, and it should be a blast! I'm pretty sure she doesn't know anything about it...I love a good surprise!

I'm still getting phone calls from long lost cousins who've heard about it, and were concerned that their invitations were lost in the mail. Sure, come on. What else can I say? I'm already cooking burgers for a planned 100 people, now the total is approaching 140. Oh well. Mom will love it!

Well I am ready and the boys are ready and we are sitting here waiting on B. to get ready...why oh why does it take women(and I should say "some" women)so long to get ready...I know guys can take long too...but every girl I have ever dated,lived with,or was married too always took a long time getting ready. Anyhow it gives me more time on here while I am waiting so its all good! We are going to a neighborhood watch meeting tonight so I hope to meet our neigbors and maybe make some friends...In Ga we had so many good friends and always had people over on the weekends.I am going to miss that too! I wish I could have carried them all with me!

Me and brandi's first wedding anniversary is on Sunday. So I need to look up good places to eat and I have already got her present. But we are going to have to brings the boys along to our romantic dinner but that okay too! Cant wait till we meet some friends and find a good sitter we trust so we can bring back our Friday night dates! well she says she is ready so I am going to load up the boys and head on out...talk to you all later!

Good afternoon mmc buddies! We had a great day out in SLC..we found this wonderful Mexican restaurant called Café Rio. Being part Latin myself I just have to have a Mexican fix every now and then. I love hot food but as I get older it just don't agree with me. I also went by base again to talk with some fellow airmen about work on Monday..It looks like I will be working still in Air traffic Control but I will be in an office with much less to do so I will be free to be here more!! Yall may be sick of me soon! The last 2 years work was so hectic I could not log on much during the day. I just hope work does not drag by that is not good either!

ETA: I just noticed how slow it is in here today..I guess this is the time of year everyone is on vacation or out at the beach or pool!! I guess by late July or whenever Christmas in July is we will start getting busier in here! I can't wait..I have never watched much CIJ or been involved with it at all..I may just have to watch it and order some stuff since I will actually have snow on the ground in December I know I am going to go cray-cray over new decorations!

I chatted with track on Facebook earlier this week, and she, Kandice and Stripey are doing fine. They were staying with her mom because of the flooding. As of then, the water wasn't getting into their apartment, so I was relieved to hear that.

Good evening,

It was a very slow moving day at work today, must be due to the anticipation of tonight's game with the Bruins having a chance to win and move on to the Stanley Cup Final. Not much to say but it was a cold raw rainy day here today, just work tomorrow and then Sunday off. Also getting excited for the Belmont Stakes tomorrow, I know it's not as exciting without the chance of a Triple Crown but I just love watching the race.
Did you make any picks on the horses, Made?

I get to get the kids ready for bed, I am flying solo tonight with the high school graduation tonight, my wife is watching her former students move on to the next step of their lives, exciting times for them. (and a reminder to my wife she is getting older, it depresses her a little) Age is just a state of mind and my mind feels 74 tonight.

Be back later, I know I will be up late with the game.
