We went to a neighborhood function tonight and met a lot of people! we are wiped out so we have our fingers crossed the boys sleep through the night! Goodnight folks I will talk to yall tomorrow!
I spoke too soon. We discovered that the air conditioning unit in our room has been leaking water all day while we were gone. Mr's suitcase soaked through, and they had to move us to another room so they could drain the A/C and run a blower to dry the carpet. Luckily, my suitcase was on the other side of the room, and we pack everything in plastic bags, so our belongings are okay, but he'll have to buy a new suitcase tomorrow for fear of mildew. Only the second time he'd used it, too. We're supposed to talk to the manager tomorrow; hope they will reimburse us or give us some credit on the ruined suitcase. What an evening. Well, at least it wasn't a fire or flood.
I thought I would pop in and check out todays post and see what's happening in MMC land...
Wow, what a great day today, we hit Universal Studios at 10:00 am and didn't get back here until after 11 pm, now that's what I would call a long day at the park! The sun was baking all day, I held up pretty good until about 4pm and the heat was starting to get to me (a pumping 91 degrees and 89% humidity) and my knee was starting to swell up and was killing me. So while everyone else got in line for the roller coaster (The Hulk), I had brought along with me a zip lock plastic bag, got one of the vendors to fill it with ice and I sat down in a cool shady spot with the ice on my knee for about 45 minutes, took an aleeve, drank a bottle of H2o; and that did the trick!
He hit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (based upon Hogsmeade) and then we went over to the other side of the park and took some pictures of the construction of the other Harry Potter site that they are building (based upon Diagon Alley) which I thought was pretty cool. The Transformer ride (by chance) was open and up and running, now, I cannot do the rides (I get sick) but I got a chance while waiting outside to get pictures of Bumble Bee, Optimus Prime and also Megatron walking around outside; awesome.....
I couldn't wait to get back to the condo and crank the ac and take a shower... I'm beat and so we may just sleep in a bit and sort of plan to take it easy tomorrow, maybe lounge around the pool... I'm heading for the pillows folks so have a good night and I check back here tomorrow...
Good Night~
********** MILESTONE DAY **********
Goodness Gracious, Good Morning, Good Morning, dear Friends!
Wowzerinos!
Lookie! Lookie!
Milestone #9 is here, right on schedule.
IT -- IS -- OPEN.
(The 200-day Christmas Day Window, that is!)
What a way to kick off the Weekend!!
The count:
Days to the Season: 158
Days to Christmas Day: 200
My, oh My.
The rain we had yesterday from Tropical Storm Andrea!
I read 4.5" on our rain guage and the airport recorded 5", the most ever for a single day.
Water was nearly into Crabtree Mall on the lower level and a number of city streets were flooded.
Several people had to be rescued from their cars in high water.
But it's all behind us now and better weather is in store for most of the weekend.
We are at 68 degrees here right now.
Have a Sensational Saturday and a Boffo Belmont, Friends!
Enjoy your Weekend Part I.
