I got to work an hour ago and looking forward to a very quiet work day.

Well - I have a stray black lab at our house! I am not sure what I will do with her. She is not full grown yet - she was roaming all around our neighborhood last night! She has a collar with a clasp attached - like she broke off of her leash! I have posted her pic on Facebook & called people around town who have black labs. I called the vet & the pound. Nothing! I hope to find her owners very soon - or a new home for her! I can't keep her, but she sure is sweet! Why me?? LOL!

We are going out to eat Mexcian tonight for my friends birthday! That's about the only "exciting" thing going on here today!!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a warm one here with a high in the mid 80's. I've been busy running some errands this morning and now I'm going to try and get some stuff done around the apartment. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

I just noticed last night how dark it was so much earlier than it was in June. Fall is coming, our local apple orchard opens September 1st, we are looking forward to that.

Yes, it gets darker much earlier than last month. I love summer but around this time of the year I'm looking forward to fall.

We had heavy thunder storms yesterday evening. It looked like the world was falling apart. But the rain and the wind helped cooling everything down. Hope it stays like this for a while.

I hate Windows 8! We bought a laptop last year when my wife was working on her Masters. It is Windows 8. It frustrates her, although she's learned better than me, and it frustrates me to no end!

Windows 8 seems to be universally disliked. I know...that's encouraging while you're trying to learn it. :smile: Just trying to let you know you're not the only one who may be frustrated with it!

I work for a IT distributor. A lot of our customer don't want to buy new computers or laptops with Windows 8 on it. Unfortunately most of our brands only sell computers with the Windows 8 operating systems now. They all thought that Window 8 will be a hit and therefore changed the operating systems on their products. We get complaints about it daily.

99 Days to the Christmas Season and, shortly, we will see signs of Christmas popping up everywhere. As I do every year at this time, I have recently been playing very close attention to the leaves on trees. We've had a (mostly) mild and wet summer in Ottawa. Moreover, we have also had quite a relatively cool spell for the past couple weeks, too. The trees seem to believe that it is, indeed, a little later than usual as a few of them have been turning a couple weeks early. Despite being August, you can certainly tell that Fall is on its way. Until then, I will continue to enjoy August!

I need to get ready for practice. Since we're heading to Colorado this weekend and then Vancouver the following, it will be our final official practice of the summer season. Quite exciting!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day. Looking forward to spending some time at the 'Pines tomorrow. Who knows what Carl is going to bring out on the first 'Pines Day of double digits to the Christmas Season!!

I'm pretty sure I already asked what kind of practice you do. Unfortunately I can't remember it. Sorry for asking again.

decided to make baked stuffed zucchini for supper out of one of them, it is now in the oven and baking. I have not made one of these since my kids were young.

Good Morning!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes for my son, very sweet! I am on the second batch of laundry and just made the children breakfast. I'm taking them to the shops to pick up a few biits and then to the park. Once I get back I have a few chores and presents to wrap for tomorrow.

Over the weekend I was flipping through channels on the tele and stumbled on the video ''Do they know it's Christmas!! '' It was one of the music channels doing a countdown of greatest hits. It was a nice little christmas injection into my day!

One of the local shops have just put out some more christmas candles so I am going to grab a couple today. I have also bought the spray paint for decorating my pine cones. I managed to collect quite a few cones over the weeks so I'm all set!

I hope you all are enjoying the last few weeks of summer! It's the second week into summer school holidays here and I am shattered My sons are staying up later and yet still getting up earlier! I don't know where they are getting the eneergy! The weather is no where near as warm as it has been and last night it was quite chilly!

Ok well Happy Pines Day everyone! Save me a seat !

I have only walked into a patch of that once and have been very careful ever since, I sure hope that you did not walk in any,.
On the bright side your neighbour walked where you walked so will be likely to have the same problem so you can sit and scratch together.

it already feels like summer is over here, temperatures have been way down especially at night. But there are still 3 weeks left so I am sure we will get some heat yet before fall settles in.
I loved summers with my kids, we did so many things. Yes, it is amazing how much energy they have!

Hi everyone! Lush day today here, the sun is shining and theres a lovely breeze. Lots of Christmas Stock I had put as a late September delievery is going to have to arrive alot sooner as I have nearly sold out of all my christmas stock which is not clever for a Christmas Shop!!!. Buyers are buying and buying early fingers crossed for a good season!!!
