Good morning everyone!

It's Friday the 13th! Do you know what that means?! No, it's not some silly misnomer courtesy of a horror film.. It means that we are now officially two months away from the beginning of the Christmas Season! Yes, in two months from today - November 13th - we will all be gathered in this thread celebrating the beginning of our favourite time of year. A time when the entire world welcomes Christmas! Until then, let's keep enjoying these wonderful days ahead of us. Fall has plenty to provide!

I might be around a little today, but I will be heading to Rochester, NY later this afternoon for a tournament. It's my first time going in a couple years, so I am pretty excited. Rochester isn't a particularly nice town, but at it's an easy 4 hour drive. As mentioned, I will be able to wake up a little earlier than first expected to update everyone with the count. I won't be responsible for debuting any milestones, but we'll be oh so close to one!

I should probably get ready. I have a few errands to run this morning. Have a great Friday, everyone! I hope that it moves quickly. You all deserve a weekend!

Good Friday the 13th, my Christmas friends!

My mom is a tall but slender woman of 70, so imagine this: She just killed her second rattlesnake this week! She killed one a few day ago next to her house...with a shotgun! Yesterday, she killed one at her neighbor's house...with a shotgun! Mom's getting pretty handy with a gun HAHA! Hopefully, we'll start getting some cooler weather soon, and the snakes will hole-up for the winter.

I cut grass till dark yesterday afternoon, but it paid off. I wouldn't have been surprised if the neighbors had stopped by to thank me for cleaning up my yard. LOL

Tonight we're all going back to Statesboro (about 30 miles from here) where the nearest movie theater is located. Jacob's buddies have all decided they are big and bad enough to watch a scary movie at the theater, so they all dared each other to go watch Insidious 2. I guess I'll wake up in the morning to find a 6 foot tall 16 year-old in my bed. :lol:

We're going to try out the new "gourmet pizza" place while he's at the movie.

I had a Louanne moment on the way to work this morning. For a few miles I was behind a Polar Beverages delivery truck, with a big, beautiful polar bear looking straight at me from the back panel.

I stayed up a little too late last night after a tiring day yesterday, so I'm not at full strength just now. Hoping the day doesn't demand too much! It's been a busy week at the office, and I have a few errands to run this evening. I would like it to be a lazy weekend (and I would like it to get here quickly), but you never know until it happens!

We are going to have sun and clouds today with temperatures in the upper 70's. I am finishing up a cup of coffee and then I need to get dinner started in the crock pot. We are having beef stew tonight. I have a couple of errands and chores to do this morning. I also need to write a menu and grocery list and hopefully get to the butcher. And I'm going to squeeze in a visit to my parents house. I hope everyone has a happy Friday!

Shotguns are great for killing snakes. I bought my wife a 410 when we moved back here. I've killed several copperheads but no rattlesnakes in the last few years. The old folks around here tell me copperheads are loners but rattlesnakes live in groups. Be careful out there.

Happy TGIF day. We hope to make it to the mountain fair tomorrow. We are expecting great weather here this weekend. Tomorrow's forecast is sunny with a high of 69 with a low in the upper 40s. We will be sleeping with the windows open. I am can't wait for the first frost. It is great to wake up to a frost covered ground. As always, I hope we have a very cold winter with lots of snow.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's a beautiful day here in central Indy with a high of 69 predicted!!!! Love it!!!! I have a few errands to run today and then it will be back home to enjoy some time on the porch before they mow the grass and I'm forced to lock myself inside for the rest of the day. My youngest is not well, he has a cold and a bit of an upset stomach. He is in good spirits though and trooping along.

Just a tad cooler here yesterday and it should be pretty good today.

DH bought two copies Tuesday night---one in a collector's box with a ship figurine & one to watch.

I have a sort of Christmassy story to share: This morning I had to take something into DD's school for her. She is 8 years old & in 3rd grade. Outside I met DD's head of daycare, where she went from 12 weeks through 5 years old. She rolled down her window & said, "I have on the earrings you bought me!" We gave them to her one year as a Christmas gift, so that was at least four Christmases ago! It made me happy to know that she still thinks of us after all those years & children that have come through the daycare. Always take time to think of a good gift for people, they will remember you for it!:wink:

I have just hung some laundry out and I'll do a spot of cleaning when he takes a nap later. I plan to make a lamb hot pot for dinner tonight but I very much feel like taking the lazy way out and ordering take away LOL ....maybe we will , it's not often that we do!

Can you believe it is Friday again? We have Iron Man 3 to watch this weekend but not much else planned. I think we will just go with the flow.....

Morning all!! Been shopping this morning and was stood for a while in the supermarket looking at the advent calenders, chocolate selection boxes and afew decorations that were on display!! Could have danced a jig in the aisles lol thought I would attract some unwelcome looks though haha
